We really enjoyed taking our pets to Doctor Faulkner even though he wasnt the closest to our house, and we were sad to see him leave. We wanted to give the new Doctor a chance before looking for somewhere closer. We were extremely pleased with the service we received from Dr. Zulandt. The staff at the front desk is friendly. They notice and interact with your pet, and that makes all of us pet-owners feel good. Our dogs were going to be due for additional vaccinations shortly, so the staff worked those additions into our appointment. This saved us time and what would have been an additional appointment fee. The staff needed an additional test that Dr. Faulkner did not require. I wasnt thrilled about the extra expense so I asked why. I received an informed, logical answer that described the extra value the test added. As it turns out, the extra test the vet required led to an early diagnosis of lyme disease in one of my pets. Since the disease was caught early, it will be much simpler to eliminate. So yes, in some instances additional services have been added and prices have gone up. This is an example of how those additional services saved my dog from undue suffering (and most likely saved long-term treatment costs). Dr. Zulandt is a local guy (and an Ohio State grad, for you Buckeyes out there), which I like. He was very compassionate with our animals. My pets mean a lot to me, and I like when they are treated well. His medical staff did a great job of handling and securing our pets during their shots. Dr. Zulandt did an excellent job of factual communication, and then discussed our options. We will continue to take our pets to Dr. Zulandts office, even though it isnt the closest. I appreciate the level of communication he provides. I also trust my pets are receiving good care.

I took our dog to Dr. Zulandt this past Saturday in hopes of finding a local vet that would become the regular vet for our pets. My experience with former owner Dr. Faulkner was limited, but I do remember him as compassionate and reasonably priced. I don’t remember the exact old prices, but after doing quite a bit of calling around to area vets recently, I was very pleased with Dr. Zulandt’s prices. I was also pleased with the care our dog received and the time Dr. Zulandt took to explain the options and different effects of certain pain meds and flea/tick control. He was honest and practical when I asked about the pros and cons of knee surgery. My dog did require a muzzle during the actual exam because he didn’t want to be “handled” but it was clear from how my dog reacted to Dr. Zulandt and his assistant both before-and-after the muzzle that the dog was clearly picking up friendly vibes and he left the exam room with his tail wagging. I was also glad to see that the rude lady who was part of Dr. Faulkner’s staff is no longer there (I dealt with her several times on the phone and that’s why I never went back to Dr. Faulkner regularly). The new staff was friendly and welcoming. The only negative was that there was a bit of a wait and some disorganization while checking in and out. In fairness, I contribute this to the transition period and getting settled. I was definitely pleased and will be taking our 3 cats there soon.

While I love Dr Faulkner for his hospice care of my older animals (he never made me do expensive blood work ups, just did whatever we had to to keep animals happy and out of pain). I am NOT happy with his office staff who even REFUSE to schedule an appointment to put a 16 year old dog down who can no longer walk. Her explanation: She didnt think the substitute vets filling in for the absent Dr. Faulkner would even put my dog down, even with a full exam etc and flat out REFUSED to end my dogs suffering!!! Sorry Dr. Faulkner, I hope you are feeling better. Too bad your office staff has NO heart. Karma will get you lady!!

The new vet just took over and jacked up the prices. When I made the appointment for my dog it was still under the last owner. When I went I was charged double and they said they sent out a paper a couple days ago that I have yet to receive. I asked them to honor my price and why was I not informed when I checked in. The staff is VERY rude and I do not recommend this place!

We love how our fur babies Rocky, Sadie and Benji are treated by everyone! Very polite front desk and Dr. Tom is great. I wouldnt go anywhere else. The transition worked for us and our dogs so we have no need to go anywhere else. ;)

Dr. Faulkner has cared for many of our furkids over the decades. He is an excellent vet with a huge heart. He does not charge exuberant fees like most of the other vets in the area. Awesome guy!!!!
