My family of 3 have been customers for more years than I can remember.... yes, a long time... My 18 year old daughter recently forgot her contacts at college... I called and asked if they could SELL me a couple pair of trial lenses in this emergency situation. I was told since my daughter was not seen in a little over a year and half, that they would not do this until she had an eye exam. I told the person I was speaking with that due to an unexpected surgery, my husbands insurance flexible spending was used up for 2014 (todays date 12/15/2014)... so I was unable to come in until the new year (two weeks). She basically told me I was SOL...and they couldnt help us out until my daughter had an eye exam. I then said, Id try 1800CONTACTS and hopefully theyd help us out...she said that if 1800CONTACTS calls them, they will tell them my daughter doesnt have a valid prescription. Basically too bad, so sad - nothing they will do to help us until our daughter comes in for an exam ($$). I then called back and left a message for Dr. X and said I would like our records sent to our home as we would be finding another optometrist that would be more accommodating in an emergency. Dr. X called me back almost immediately and said he would send the files, but didnt understand why there was a problem since our vision insurance covers one exam per year at no charge. He said to bring my daughter in the next day and she would get an exam and there would be no charge. He would then give her 2 trial pairs of contacts with the new prescription. ...and we could order the contacts in the new year (2 weeks for now)...when our flexible spending money kicked in. So, long story short, I brought her in and after the exam, we are told we owe them $75 for the exam. I paid the money, and believe me, it was worth paying the bill to never to have to set a foot in that place again. I felt DR. X misled me. His office assistant was unaccommodating...and they lost 3 long time customers that spend a lot of money on premium eye wear (Ray Ban, Gucci , Transitions lenses, etc). If you want to be treated like this in an emergency, go to Family Eye Care Clinic, Im sure you will get a good eye exam in their fancy, brand spanking new office. But, Ill take my business to a place that I feel values its long time customers and treats them right. Would have like them to say, sure, Ill SELL you a couple pair of contacts to get you through until we can see you in two weeks. lets make that appointment NOW... But, instead, they lost our business over those 2 pair of trial lenses that I was willing to pay for. Hope it was worth it to them. BTW: The first of the year, I will be making appointments at a new optometrist - they will get our business for 3 new pairs of premium eye wear and lenses - as well as 2 exams (since DD had hers already)... thats at least a couple thousand dollars worth of eyeglass frames, lenses and examinations... too bad, so sad.

Had a 645 apt there first apt of the day arrived 10 min early wasnt called back to the exam room prior to my departure at 705. 20 min behind on there first exam of the day really, must not realize other people work. Further more my wife and I have same insurance she was charged $70 for an exam I went to Lens Crafters and was charged $50 for the same exam. Contact prices are 2x the price of the contacts on the internet they compile "discounts" to make you seem they are a deal when in turn they are not. Not a fan of this place

My wire frame broke as I was trying to adjust it. That was mid noon on a Saturday. Went to the Family Eyecare Clinic to ask if they can fix it or replace the prescription lenses using another wire frame I had. Holly was most professional and helpful in swapping the frames in a jiffy. No charge! She and other office staff are exceptional. I would highly recommend this group of doctors and other professionals to anyone looking for eyecare services.

I have been going to Family Eyecare Clinic for over a year now and i can not say enough how great everyone is i would have to say that the friendless and courtesy from the Staff and the Doctors is great, it reminds me of how it was back when i was growing up and my parents took me there (of course it was different Doctors and Staff then) And having the location not far from my house is great! i would strongly recommend them to my friends.

New to area I needed to get new glasses. Wantef contacts. The drs told me no problem, but you have to get gladses too. 450. Dollars later.... And 3 months. I still dont have contacts and one of the drs told me welll you cant het contats that make you see crystal cleat .....ya sure thousands of people have contacts they cant see out of and the glasses I spent so much for they only put in new lenses. Dont go to them they will rip you off.

I have been having problems with my vision for a couple of months. Needless to say when I finally had the time (when it was almost impossible to text or see messages received), I called and received my appointment very timely. Everyone in this office in Painesville were more than courteous; they were also friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Kane was excellent at communicating my concerns. Thanks Family Eye Care!

Bad customer service. Bought a Nike frame....went to get the frame fixed only after 2 weeks and was asked to pay $50. One of the lady told me that I had tempered with the frame myself. They finally fixed it for $25. Never going back.
