I was on my last year of dental insurance so I needed to figure out if I wanted to go ahead with the procedure or have them extracted instead, or wait until I had insurance again. So I requested the amount that it would cost me to have everything that I needed done, since my insurance would run out before I was through with the work. They gave me my amount and I took out a loan to cover it. Once all of my route canals were done, I went into my appointment for them to start on my crowns, and they told me I owe them another $2700 for the crowns because the receptionist put the cost of the crowns as $0. The amount they told me, and I have the paper for it, was only $1500 out of pocket, after insurance pays out. So my quote went from $1500 to $4200 out of pocket. Seriously big difference! Legally we had an agreement on a price and they couldnt change it after the work has been started within the 30 days the quote was good for. Well, they didnt honor their agreement, even though it was their mistake. So I am now having to pay them for the work they did and another dentist for the mistake theyve made when I told them I wasnt willing to pay such a high amount. I would have waited until I could get insurance again. If you go here, fair warning, a lawyer may be needed in the future.
