DO NOT RISK TAKING YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS HERE! It is just not worth it. This is the WORST CPC I have ever been too. I cannot speak for all CPCs, I can only share my traumatic experience with this clinic and with Dr. Peetz. Please do not learn the hard way like I had to. I found too many uninformed staff, receptionists who were rude and/or would ignore you, seemingly uneducated vet techs AND vets who cannot answer questions or convey important information. And the head hancho running the clinic, Dr. Larry Peetz, was incredibly unprofessional, egotistical, uncompassionate, and seemed to lack basic knowledge of cat behavior! Do NOT leave your animal here overnight. There isnt much benefit when there is no one there for over 12 hours, which the staff failed to inform me of. In the midst of a series of questionable treatment, our injured kitty, Wolly, escaped from his kennel the first evening he stayed, on their insistence, because the kennels latch was broken! The staff failed to ensure he was kept in a secure kennel and they failed to close the doors of the room he was kept in. In fact, they failed to close ANY of the doors in the whole clinic. Plus, they were in the midst of a remodel so there were gaps in the walls and ceiling, piles of junk everywhere, leaving many possibilities for a kitty to hide. Fortunately, after 5 very long and draining days, our kitty was found in the CEILING of the clinic in a live trap, alive and well considering the circumstances. What a relief! BUT my family and I were still very upset about the way this situation was handled. During those 5 days, I really had to take this into my own hands to make sure everything was being done. I would have to personally inform the staff where the live trap was set which they were supposed to check first thing each morning. I had conversations every day with Dr. Peetz, who didnt even know my name for several days, and hadnt even looked at my cats chart until the day he was found. My conversations with Dr. Peetz were less of a conversation and more of him talking incessantly and defensively, and getting upset if I interrrupted him. He accused me of not caring for my cat, or having a good relationship with my cat because he didnt come to me when I attempted to call him! Anyone who knows me knows how important my kitties are to me, and anyone who knows cats knows that they probably wont come to you if there scared, in pain and in a strange environment! He attempted to place blame partly on my cat for escaping. He questioned my use of Rescue Remedy, Feliway and other stress relievers for my cats, saying it wasnt normal (even though one of this vets had reccommended these treatments last year when we had moved and my kitties were really stressed out from it). NO one had even apoligized to us until two days after Wolly went missing. And this is only because I had prompted it! Suddenly everyone was saying sorry. This is just a fraction of what we endured, all while our kitty is still lost and in need of medical treatment. Its been 4 months since the incident and Wolly, is physically healed but still healing otherwise, as am I. He is still in discomfort over his tail, seems to experience phantom tail. Though he is mostly back to normal and even more lovey and cuddly than he was before, he still has developed this tail complex, paranoia, chasing his own tail. But hes getting better every day and I hope soon this is a thing of the past! I have attempted to resolve this situation with Dr. Peetz with only negative results. This was a huge emotional and financial burden on my family and he must assume responsibility. The greatest reward is having our Wolly home, but there has to be consequences so this kind of thing never happens again! Thanks for listening. I hope this is the final "bad" review you hear to convince you your animal is worth taking to a good clinic! BTW the Powell Blvd. Vet Clinic staff have been incredibly sweet and caring, and thus far have lived up to their reputation. Sorrry CPC, never again.

my story: my dog was admitted with CPC to remove bladder stones. they made it sound very routine, so i was not worried about much (other than the cost-- $1,500). ok, the good parts first: the staff were tender hearted toward my dog. the bad parts: the place is so dirty. dog hair, cat hair- everywhere. i was covered in it. the blankets they used on my dog had other hair on it. at one point an ultra sound was performed on my dog and the devise they used to prop him up was covered in hair. they did not clean it before putting my very sick dog on it. they also sent my dog home from his surgery in terrible pain. he was panting and yelping, it was awful. i called about it, and they acted like it was normal. i called other vets, they had a different opinion. the tech who went through the list of procedures with us gave us horrible advice (why was i not talking to the vet?!?) and we did not send his stones to be tested. now we have no idea how to change his diet to prevent this in the future. i am so angry that i have to pay these people a dime. i cant prove that they botched the surgery, but it sure feels like it. a stitch came loose in his bladder. his belly was full of urine. i described his symptoms to them over the phone, and they said it was to be expected. insane. seriously. when i arrived at CPC for his "follow up" they didnt even notice how dehydrated he was. he hadnt eaten for days, and had not been able to keep any fluid in him. i just cannot believe how ill-equip the place is. so, i was referred to cascade vet referral in tigard. what a huge difference. night and day. they saved my dog, and i wish that i could re-do this whole thing, save my dog a ton of pain and near death experience and save myself $1500. please, do not let your pet be operated on by these people.

I came here for the first time yesterday, and I was a crying mess. Im a first time rat owner (they just turned a year old earlier this month) and my girl Natsu has taken a tumble after climbing into the hallway closet and knocking some board games off the shelf, she was climbing around on her stomach and seemed very weak and hazy, I was certain she was dying. This vet was closest to my house so I was very happy when I showed up and they said they treated rats, I was even happier when they quickly got us into a room, and we didnt have to wait long at all for a doctor to come see her. Everybody was so kind and helpful the whole time, even though I was clearly distressed, they all seemed very rat friendly and some of them even said theyd owned rats in the past. They ended up doing some x-rays and prescribing some medicine, it looked like she had a bruise on the side of her lung but luckily she didnt appear to have anything broken or fractured, or internal bleeding. The whole time everyone paid Natsu compliments and said what a cute/sweet rat she was; they wrote up a detailed summary of what I needed to do when I got home, which was good because I was still a blubbery mess & wasnt soaking in information very well. While writing this review they even called to check and see how she was doing, so thats awesome, she seems 500% better and pretty much back to her regular self, but they said I could call if I had any further questions/concerns. I was nervous about rushing to a vet Id never been to in the middle of the day with a rat emergency but they went above and beyond my expectations, if Natsu or her sister ever needs a check-up (or has another emergency, but Im hoping against that) well definitely be returning. They definitely get my recommendation!
