My experience at gladstone veterinary clinic was one of the most horrifying experiences that Ive ever experienced. I do no recommend this clinic to anyone! On January 29th my daughters cocatiel Suki collapsed and showed signs of distress so we rushed her and her bird to the nearest vest for emergency care. The veterinarian said she had some birds xperience. She saw that suki was in distress so she put oxygen on her. The vet didnt even listen to sukis breathing, this veterinarian was completely incompetant. The manager wouldnt ok any treatment unless we paid up front by this time the bill had come to $261.00 for someone to hold an oxygen mask on suki for an hour. I mentioned I didnt get paid till the next day and would they accept a check. The manager said since I dont have money in my account that would be a NO, I reminded her that I got paid the very next day and the check would be covered. This very RUDE insensative manager proceeded to raise her voice by saying that they dont give out services for free which I replied that I wasnt asking for free services I pay my bills, she then said they could euthanize the bird here right in front of my daughter causing her to burst into tears .Being that no one would at this clinic would care for my daughters Suki bird she soon died. I was exstremely overcharged with a bill of $261.00 for oxygen for an hour of which I paid the bill and promptly left the premises a very unhappy client. SO NO THIS NOT A VETERINARY CLINIC TO TAKES ANY OF YOUR ANLMAL LOVED ONES TO!!!

They are not knowledgeable when it comes to birds. Was told that my bird has chlamydia and find out (from a trusted source) over $130 later that its just allergies. The medication she gave me for her did not help whatsoever. They did not even check up with me at all after the appointment to make sure she was doing okay (like they said they would). When the appointment was over I was still not given even a guess of a diagnosis. They had a bunch of things they thought it might be (which I understand that its hard to narrow down a diagnosis without testing) however they threw out a large spectrum of different things it could have been which was not helpful. The vet didnt seem to have a firm understanding on birds like I had hoped coming from an exotic vet that sees birds. Additionally, I waited for a long period of time as she went from room to room seeing other animals between my visit. I will say that she handled my bird very well and was very gentle and patient, which I greatly appreciated. Its very possible that she knows dogs and cats very well so dont be detoured to try her out as a vet for your furry friends but my suggestion is that you find a different veterinary for your avian pets.

Our experience was that the vets were really excellent and caring. But we stopped taking our pets there because every visit they wanted to do blood tests and later on it was very expensive senior panels. When we wanted to get a refill for a prescription we were told we needed to have them do another senior panel. When we told the front desk that we refused, we were told we needed to talk to one of the vets before getting our RX filled. It was ridiculous. The RXs were twice as expensive there as anywhere else. And the cost of the office visit was way over priced. As someone else stated, it is as though they just keep pushing for more and more tests and procedures which we felt were not necessary with that frequency. We have since found another vet and the prices are reasonable. We now pay $170 (same brand) for a prescription that they charged $289. Our new vet requests a senior panel annually. Although very elderly, our pets are doing fine even though they have some new conditions. But our new vet does not keep pushing for more and more tests and procedures because they said it would not improve their quality of life anyway. That is an common sense Vet. Keep looking.

A few weeks ago, I brought my beloved 9 year old dog to Gladstone Vet Clinic to have a "routine" dental exam and cleaning under anesthesia. Being a veterinarian myself (but I dont typically work on dogs), I had high expectations for the type of care my dog would receive, and I was not disappointed. When I brought him to the clinic that morning, they explained every step of what was going to happen, a certified veterinary technician obsessed over my dog the whole time he was anesthetized, and they monitored him frequently after anesthesia until he was able to walk around. This is not typical for many veterinary clinics, but I really appreciate that it is the rule at Gladstone. Dr. TenBroeke examined every tooth in detail, showed photos to me later, and it turns out my dog has a lot more going on in his mouth than I could tell myself without anesthesia. (I knew this would be the case from my veterinary training, but I was in denial about my own dog of course.) The whole day cost slightly less than the estimate they gave me at the beginning, which was a bonus. All in all, a pretty smooth process.

Terrible experience! A few things you can expect...non-listening ear, numerous tests, repeated misdiagnosis(leading to expensive prescriptions that were never to cure said illness), vet tech giving her own opinion(w/o vet present) with comments of the threat of death of pet, and overall manipulation playing off of your love of your animal. Long story about seeking treatment for my cat....but basically almost a year later my cat has never been happier or healthier. She has gained back weight she lost while on various medications prescribed by this clinic. These people lied about her condition and essentially risked her life w prescriptions that A-was to treat a bacteria that is always present and B-was not useful in treating said bacteria! The treatment I sought and has helped my cat was for stress....Something I had mentioned to and asked both vets I saw at this clinic. Dont go there they are dishonest!!!...and money hungry!

Gladstone Veterinary Clinic boarded my hedgehog from March 26th, 2015 to March 28th, 2015. This clinic has been wonderful! They took very good care of my little guy and handled him frequently (keeping a hedgehog socialized is very important). I take meticulous care of my hedgehogs cage and they did too. The staff was very nice and helpful. They sent me updates of how he was doing and took pictures. Yes, the clinic is a little expensive but they are the best clinic I have every been to. I highly suggest Gladstone Veterinary Clinic to everyone.

Compassion... knowledge... supportive... All at the right price. As a first time visit, we needed a Saturday appointment for our 25 yr old dog. The staff were amazing! They had us in that day and gave her the best treatment. No extra tests or procedures were "pushed" and we had an excellent experience. We have now switched Vets and bring our others pets here too!

Have taken 2 dogs and 5 cats to them over the last 25 years, and wouldnt go anywhere else. Very, very professional, capable, competent, and caring. And all the staff are simply wonderful! Before moving to Gladstone, we had taken our pets to other veterinary clinics, and while some were quite good (and some not so much), Gladstone VC has been the best, hands down.
