I dropped my dog off at 8am to have a simple blood test test done. I was told by the front desk that it the lastest pick up time would be 1pm. I said ok and was on my way. 1pm rolls on by still have not heard from them. So I am sitting here thinking oh well I will give them a call maybe they are just running behind. No one answered the phone so I tried again at 1:30pm still no answer then again at 2pm still no answer. Finally able to get a hold of them at 2:40pm. A lady answers I told her that I dropped off my dog that morning and I was trying to figure out what was taking so long. To find out my dog had not even been seen by the vet! So I asked to talk to the. The lady (lauren) then says to me oh well the vet went to go take a dog to go potty she will be back in a couple of minutes, I say ok no problem and hang up. I waited and waited and still no call. I waited until 4pm still no call, so I call again and said you told me it would only be a couple of minutes it has been over an hour! I am extremely ticked off at this point and she says hold on let me go grab the vet so you can talk to her. I then told her the situation how I was told by her associate that she would call me around 2:50pm and it was at this point 4:10pm. The vet then tells me oh well I was on my lunch break I dont know why she would have told you that and plus I never got a message to call you, not to mention she was giving me the worst attitude about it. Are you kidding me?!?! I have never in my whole life been to a place where their comminication skills are just terrible. How am I suppose to trust somebody with my animal if no one has any clue of what is going on! She then proceeds to say my dog is ready. I then ask her why did it take so long just to draw sone blood? Well aparently they dont do appointments just drop offs and they get to your dog when it is convient for them. So my dog was sitting there for 7+ hours because it wasnt convient for them, how awesome. I will not be returning to the banfield in lakewood. I am extremely unhappy with the staff and their proffesionalism. I would not reccomend this place to anyone.

My dog fell down the stairs of our new house yesterday. He seemed fine that evening and during the morning. There was a little hitch in his step, but who wouldnt be a bit uncomfortable after that. By afternoon he still wasnt feeling well and was limping on his hind leg. I called this office to see if that had any available appointments. I was told to bring him in and they would fit him in. Once there the woman at the desk was helpful. We waited for a tech to do triage. When the tech came to see Owen she had us walk him away and to her to check his gait. She didnt see the obvious limp and asked us if that is how he usually sways. Seriously? Why would I bring in my dog if he always walked this way. She had us walk him away and back again and says " well looks like hes moving fine". She didnt even put her hands on him to check for sore spots or to see if his leg had limited mobility. She goes off to talk to the vet and comes back to tell us they have no openings to see him until May or I can call in the morning on the off chance there is a cancellation. What a giant waste of time. In the 2 hours I wasted in traffic and in the waiting room I could have been seen at a real vet office. Instead my dog can now not put any weight on his hind leg and is moaning in pain. Luckily an office near by is going to get him in to be seen and actually evaluate him. The only bright point of the whole tragic ordeal was the reception being an absolute wonder with my 2 year old son.

My Pitt Bull Kali had surgery, which after the fact I find out that it she didnt need to be butchered but could have received a CT Scan instead. That option was never given to us. Then while in the care of Banfield during one of her many visits she ended up breaking off one of her front canine teeth and fracturing another. And all I got was "oops so sorry" and then quoting me a cost of what it would take to correct the problem when this happened under their care to begin with and not taking any responsibility for it. The doctor actually asked me not to say anything about the broken teeth so she wouldnt get in trouble. Are you kidding me??? We had enrolled Kali in the Wellness Plan at her first visit, but then the final straw came when my precious Kali unfortunately ended up dying of cancer. Banfield kept billing me as this is an annual contract that you can not get out of regardless of what the situation is. This of course was not explained to me in any way when we first signed her up. I complained to corporate about it but all I got in return was a generic response in the form of an email stating that we still have to pay for her annual Wellness Plan and yet she is no longer with us. Shame on them! All they care about is the bottom line of being the Almighty dollar. I will never again take any of my pets there again. This is not what I call good quality care. My pets are part of my family and deserve to be given good care.

I had been taking my little sweet chihuahua here since she was a baby, About a month ago she got sick and I took her in. They ran blood tests and I was given very horrible news that she was severely ill and to save her would cost thousands of dollars. In giving me the news they were very cold and insensitive. I felt like they were treating me like a number, no compassion for my beloved pet. The doctor never even came into the room to introduce him/herself and tell me the full situation, I had different nurses the entire time. It was heart breaking. When I had to make the terrible decision to put her to sleep they gave me some time to say goodbye. Less then 5 min!! Then as I was saying goodbye to Ruby my little chihuahua baby and making peace with myself and the awful decision I had to make, A nurse walked in took my little dog and said do you care if we dissect her for learning purposes? I was incomplete shock and disgust for the lack of insensitivity!!! I was such a wreck already I couldnt believe what I was hearing. I called the next morning and told them I would no longer be going there and they sounded like they could care less. I would tell anyone one who loves their pet to not take them here!!!! They are a corporate business whos employees lack passion and love for the animals that come in! The worst part is now I have to wonder what they did to my little dog after I left. It is an awful feeling =(
