I used to take my dog to "VCA Met Vet West Animal Hospital" in Robinson and when he got neutered there & we went back for his checkup to see how he was healing, I noticed he started scratching at his ears. I asked the tech, after the vet looked at the stitches, can hey please look at my dogs ears (which takes a sec) to make sure nothing is wrong. The tech came back and said that the vet said "I am only scheduled for check up on the neutering that they could not look at his ears" Ummm... Immediately found a new vet.. Here at Thornwood Veterinary Hospital. This vet is SO THOROUGH EVERY appt, that you KNOW your pet WILL be in good hands. I LOVE this place!

Despite the reviews Ive read, Im going to return and keep taking my dog to this vet. Customer service is not really all that important to me when it comes to getting medical treatment for a pet. I take my dog in, the vet does what he needs to do and I leave. I dont need a warm greeting and a mint with my bill. This vet is very knowledgeable if you see past is interesting personality. I would say if you dont need your back-side kissed from the moment you walk in this guy will do just fine for you.

The vet, Dr. Schuerger, was not very kind and was borderline rude to my family. He didnt introduce himself, was not not nice to my child and was not very caring toward our dog. When I would ask a question, he would respond, "Im getting to that" and looked annoyed that I asked the question. He was very impersonal and I am shocked he is still in business. I will not return to this vet and would NOT recommend him to anyone.

Great Vet. I dont have much to add to the more recent reviews, but I just wanted to stress that despite the fact Dr. Schuerger is not the most personable vet in the world, he is very knowledgeable. After all, I dont go to the vet to make friends; I go to make sure my dog is healthy. With that said, I intend to keep taking my 7-year-old collie and all future pets to this vet.

Dr Schuerger is a fantastic Vet! He is very intelligent, knowledgeable and animal centric. You need to let him do his work and then ask questions--he is very focused on the animal. His staff is great too! If you want to provide your pet with top quality care this is the veterinary place

The doctor is the most condescending individual I have ever encountered. I NEVER write reviews but I want it to be made known that this vet is horrible. Avoid this place is you want a kind, welcoming environment for you and your pet.

Horrible place. Was waiting for over twenty minutes after appointment. Vet was so unfriendly and unkind, didnt even pet my dog. Unnecessarily restrained her, and was rougher than he had to be. She was terrified.
