I took my cat there quite a few years ago. He was in pain and I didnt know what was wrong. This vet clinic insisted he had cancer and put him to sleep with no tests. I was so hysterical besides myself - after my cat was dead and a while later I realized I should have just taken him home and to another vet. They had already put the shunt in his leg to kill him and the tech got annoyed that i was asking for another option. I should have never let them kill my cat. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone. I was stupid and didnt know all the things at the time that could be wrong with the cat. But they lied to me. Nobody could tell my cat had cancer without an x-ray or ultrasound. I didnt know any better and I have never gotten over this. All they wanted was my money and to get rid of my cat because they couldnt be bothered. They tricked me. I have excellent vets now. Dont go here if you have an emergency thats all I can say. They dont want to find out whats wrong - they cant be bothered unless you are able to shell out tons of money. If not they will just tell you to kill your cat. I am still upset over this. They lied to me and tricked me into putting my cat down.

I used to bring my cats here when I was very young with my mom, all they ever do is tell you all the "necessary" extra things you need to do for your animal. Aside from what you came there for. Just so they can make more money off you! I even took my dog here for his first vet check up and the two woman that examined him couldnt seem like they hated their job more. All this vet cares about is your MONEY. Do yourself a favor, DONT take your animals here. Quite recently they just screwed some poor kid over his dogs life because they wanted to run him around the bush, and talk about the payments FIRST. Not his dogs welfare or treatment. All while this dog was suffering. I could think of plenty of options they couldve done before they gave him the pay us 1500 dollars (Denied payment plan!) or put your best friend down. I dont think scumbags who care about money more than the animals they are being entrusted with should be vets.

Yes, they are expensive (most veterinary care is these days) but they do give excellent care. I take my two cats to them and they actually enjoy being there because of the quality care they receive. Its obvious that the staff love animals by the way they treat them. I have never had a bad experience here, even when I had a previous cat who was a holy terror to bring to the vet, they were so good with her. It was hard when the time came to say goodbye to her, but they did the best they could and referred me elsewhere when they couldnt provide the care she needed.

Really great place to take pets, this people are professional and friendly. my puppy love this place, Doctor here is well knowledge, professional, and great with Pets. I always suggest this place to take our loving pets. In my experience with this place, they never look for money, they always look for pets safety. My puppy prince is so healthy only because of VCA Detwiler Animal Hospital on Kenhorst Blvd

CRAZY EXPENSIVE! My 89 yo Aunt took her cat their yesterday and they charged her $57 for fluids!!!! My vet would have charged $7. $73 for an antibiotic shot that my local vet charges $21 for. Her total bill was $273 and would have been half at my vet. Next time, I am taking her cat to MY vet myself. Shame on them. This is exactly why people refuse to maintain yearly care.

My Dauschund Maple Mae couldnt walk and my regular vet wasnt much help. When I called them they fit her in within 1 hour. FYI she is walking again after steroids and thanks to the staff.
