I saw Little who has that over-the-top meant to be friendly but comes off creepy and passive aggressive type of attitude going on, and he made me feel very uncomfortable. He send me for an xray, where they had to lay my sprained ankle at the exact position that was causing me pain to put it in. Their computer crashed and they left me in that position for 10 mintues while they tried to fix it. Then back to the exam room where Little insisted I try a boot - I said no because it holds your foot in a right angle, which is what casues my injury excruciating pain. I needed to leave it hanging in a wrap. He spent all this time putting the boot on me anyway, which caused me (not surprisingly) great pain. So he said "fine" and muttered and said I didnt have to take it. I left with crutches instead. They later sent me a bill for the boot. I called after a few weeks to ask for a note for physical therapy. I asked them what type of sprain it was (there are three degrees of sprain). Little told his staff to tell me "it was fine." I couldnt get a better answer, so I asked him to give me a call. By the next day, he hadnt called. I spent 30 minutes the next day while they bounced me from office to office trying to find him. Finally I requested that whoever was on call just write me the note for PT. They said theyd have the on call Dr. send in the note and call me back. They never called back. Finally on the third or fouth day I got a doctor to call in the note. I went there to avoid the 4 hour wait at the emergency. Ive spent at least that long dealing with the aftermath.

Went for dog bite wounds on both hands. (Dog has never been aggressive at any time including about food etc. We made the mistake of dropping food and then trying to get it back. Never a good idea with any dog...) Did not call beforehand for appointment - it was a Sunday afternoon about 2:30pm. Only waited about a 1/2 hour - though of course that could change a lot depending on the day and time. And the whole visit did not last more than 1 1/2 hours. 1st assistant was very nice and professional - took blood pressure - took list of medications he was on etc. Then a physicians assistant came in to look at it - he was also very nice and professional - then the doctor came in and he was also very nice and professional. Asked about dog rabies vaccination which had been done. Because the wound was very deep on the left hand there was a question about whether the tendon or bone had been nicked. But they were somewhat reassured that they werent by free movement of hand and fingers - and that we also were having it checked again tomorrow - have an appointment with our primary physician. So they put on new topical antibacterial ointment and fresh wound dressings - and we were given a prescription for strong antibiotics with the advice to come back if there was any pain or swelling - especially if we werent able to see our primary tomorrow.. Overall we were pretty satisfied with the service...(and there has been no charge yet - dont know if we will get a bill. But we do have Neighborhood Health Plan so it (dog bite) should be covered...) .

I have been a regular patient there, but after todays visit I will no longer be a patient there. Walking in the two recipents guided me to the correct forms that needed to be filed out. With an un welcoming tone and no awareness of the me being there. It was very cold and unwelcoming. The couple spoke and heard each other speak about there job and how they didnt want to be there. Once called to the room the MA took only my BP and rush our questions and answers. When the PA "bihive worker" has he stated to me. Didnt a horrible assement, never actually diagnosed me with a actual treatment ie labs swabs xrays blood because they werent open and they were mor of a cough congestion in and out kind of place. He has or empathy walking into care for me but an object of D/c me because I was one of two patients waiting. After, informing that I disliked the care since admission he decides to seem more concerned bit at this point I wanted OUT. While waiting for my discharge paper the PA loudly announced what his recommendations were to the MA. I felt that my HIPPA rights were violated. I will be contacting the Department of Health.

Terrible. Although the front office staff and the nurses were nice, even after I made an appointment I waited a long time in the waiting room and then a half an hour in the exam room before the care provider, Elizabeth Mann came in. She did not address the issue, even after acknowledging that I did indeed have the ailment I was complaining about, instead I left with some useless advice and prescriptions for products in doses that dont exist or were inadequate. The pharmacist was less then impressed and did not fill two of them after we discussed it. As I was leaving I complained to the nurse that I knew myself and what I really needed was an antibiotic and that I didnt want to have to pay the $75.00 deductible again for the same reason. She suggested that I call the next day because there was another physician on and he may be willing to write a script for what I REALLY needed. I did and he did. Apparently they are aware that Elizabeth Mann is unqualified too. Ask who the provider is going to be before going. apparently modern medicine is not something Ms. Mann practices.

Prepare to be mocked and dismissed. I fell off a 50ft cliff and could barley walk on an injured ankle when I came in. I was clearly the most injured person, but I had to wait 45 minutes. They offered no absolutely help while I hobbled around the office, they all dismissed me like the injury wasnt as serious as it was. Ever heard of the gender stereotype problem in medicine? Its when healthcare professionals often assume a womans pain is overblown/emotional. I feel like I had to be in dignified suffering or theyd chock up my expression of pain with my womanly emotions. Perhaps this is why everyone on staff who saw me asked if I was on my period or pregnant multiple times each? Maybe Im reading too far into it, Im just so deeply upset with the subpar treatment and infuriating dismissal I felt today. Go to Barrington UC (if theyre actually open when they say theyre open). I went there with an infected wisdom tooth and got treated with more respect than when I showed up to East Side unable to walk with an ankle 3x its normal size.
