Where is the zero stars button when you need it? This place should be shut done. The lack of caring displayed by most here is unexceptable. I dont think anyone in there knows they are being paid to do their job. All are miserable and negative. Im so unimpressed and disappointed. If you walked the halls you wouldnt know that this was a place where people are being helped. This is a place where people are being ignored. I get it, youre over worked and go for days at a time, BUT we the people did not choose this career path for YOU. IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOURE DOING GET A NEW JOB. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE ENVIRONMENT OF AN EMERGENCY ROOM, LEAVE. On my way out from visiting my grandfather last night I walked past an older heavy set woman struggling to walk and breathe. She was literally gripping the walls and shelving trying to make her way somewhere. As I came closer, as any decent human being would, I stopped and asked her if she was okay, if she needed help. As this happened two NURSES/DOCTORS (I couldnt read the title on their badge because they blew by this woman so quickly) just ignored her. They heard my questions to her and her responses and gave me a dirty look and completely assumed the bystander effect. WALKED. RIGHT. BY. HER. Didnt even bat an eyelash because hey maybe they were on break or going home. So I walked the halls searching for someone who would help and found no one of course, I stole a wheel chair and brought it back to her where she had sat down to catch her breath and adjust her hips. When I got back one of the nurses that had previously blew past her came back. Maybe by chance, maybe because she was sitting by the exit and told her she can call an extension and they will "probably have someone help". Dont you think that someone should be you??? "Youre never wrong to do the right thing" and here that motto is shoved to the back of their brain. I wonder if they would want someone to help their grandmother who was struggling in the halls? What goes around comes around and these people have it coming. I wouldnt be shocked if we heard news that they were shut down for Malpractices or something ridiculous. No one cares enough so I doubt their ducks in a row My grandmother passed away yesterday. Her husband has been at Mariam for the past 3 weeks going on 4. We have come across 2 nurses who just get it and understand that this job is much bigger than them. Most however, feel bigger than the job. Just last night it took everything in my power to not jump across the nurses stand when the respiratory nurse said "Its ridiculous I have to try when he refuses"...its your job shut up and do it. Last week my grandfathers brother passed away and they would not work with us to try and get him out so he could see his funeral. We are talking funeral on Memorial Day weekend at the US national cemetery in the cape for a war veteran and they wouldnt work with us, it was a hard no. I know people can be released under special circumstances and this was one of them. Now with his wifes funeral in the near future, we fear they will do the same and we will have to just discharge him against medical recommendation or he will miss the funeral. Once that happens they said they wont admit him back in. Hes difficult and they dont like him. When his name pops back up in the system, they will do everything in their power to deny admission. He has early stage dementia and has been deemed unable to make his own medical choices. The person whos job it is to "try" to find a home for him cant seem to figure it out, although for some strange reason all of us with full time jobs could find 2 options in less that a few phone calls. Its a disgusting place with unexceptable staff. I truly wonder how they would like their families to be taken care of. Millions of people are unemployed....I think you guys could do better. Also did they give themselves stars "a google user"

Dr. James F. Robertson at Lifespan and Miriam hospital in Rhode Island; Cardiovascular Institute made a medical determination of health without evidence. It appears that Doctor James F. Robertson did not take the time to review my electrocardiogram chart to have made his conclusion to have found nothing wrong with my heart. I had to request a exam called Echocardiogram with TMH CVI EPROV STREES ECHO. And that order was entered wrong in the database. I had to have the patient check out clerk verify the stats of the order with the Doctor and correct the error. At no point in time did the Cardiovascular Institute ask me to sign a medical release of records, from the prior medical facilities were I had my echocardiogram done. How was Dr. Robertson making an impulsive decision without knowledge of my history and facts to my health? I question his credibility and professional ethics.

As a cancer survivor: My clinical oncologist was at The Miriam hospital Fain center, my radiation oncologist was not in The Miriam and my surgeon was at Dana-Farber. The staff at the Comprehensive Cancer Institute at The Miriam was amazing, Everyone said it was like each nurse took a personal interest in you and your treatment, going for Chemo treatments was like seeing old friends and family. Cancer diagnosis aside, the experience at the comprehensive cancer institute (thats what they call it at the Miriam) was just short of amazing. The Miriam hospital is my hospital of choice

Took my grandmother to the ER for inflammation of her knee. Got in and doctors decided to take an xray and then perform a knee effusions. Waited for 3 hours for the lab result to return. In the mean time we asked for a nurse to help my grandmother use a bed pan. None ever came. The lab result came in negative for infection. They then gave my grandmother a dose of tylenol even though i asked for ibuprophen which has an antiinflammatory effect and not tylenol. They then decided to take a blood and sent us on our way. No advise no recommendation for care and no prescription.

Sunday, late afternoon, my daughter and I went to the ER. She had kidney problems. The ER nurse, assigned to our room #55, "Holly" should be fired!. Holly never checked on us. She stood at the nurses station chatting with others, laughing and talking about what they did over the weekend. poor quality. ignorant nurse.

I have been to ER at Miriam twice in the last 2 years. The ER staff are top notch. Alyssa of ER 2 is particular noteworthy and a real gem. The entire staff is friendly, attentive, thorough, and cares. Nobody wants to be in the hospital, but if you find yourself in need of one, Miriam is a great option.

The nurses in the ER are true angels. Its obvious they love their jobs and care immensely about the patients. The administrative staff on the other hand could use a pep talk. The billing department is just like most others in healthcare. Insurance issues and a ton of red tape.

Spent an entire day waiting for a catscan. Saw 1 doctor for 3 minutes. As I write this review on my phone, I have still yet to receive the results of my catscan. 8 hours of my life wasted on this nonsense, all because I got a concussion. Will never come here again.
