Such a shame this office is managed so poorly because I really liked my dermatologist here and thought she did a great job. What I did NOT like: waiting in the waiting area for 45+ minutes and then another 20-30 minute wait in a FREEZING cold exam room while wearing a flimsy paper gown. Trying to reschedule an appointment and being placed on hold for nearly 20 minutes - I was sure my call had gotten lost in the queue so I called back - nope, another long wait to just get my call answered. In the time I waited on hold, I was able to take a shower, fix my hair, get dressed and put on makeup! Then complete inflexibility to reschedule a routine yearly exam (which takes a grand total of maybe 20 minutes tops). My doctor would not be available for 2 and a half MONTHS and her nurse would have to call me back to see if I would be "allowed" to be fit in with another doctor before that date. Although I was assured that the nurse would call me back the same day, no one ever did, nor was my appointment canceled so I wouldve been charged a no-show fee. Wow, Ive never had to work so hard to be a patient at an office that clearly does not value me. Ill be finding another practice.

Im shocked by some of the previous reviews. This is hands down the best dermatology office in Greenville. I have had skin cancers that require me to see a dermatologist at least twice a year for over 20 years now. After moving to Greenville from a large metropolitan city I struggled to find a decent doctor. I have to have full body checks and most of the physicians barely glanced me over and subsequently the skin cancers would grow so large that when they had to be removed Id end up with large scars. Dr. Shuler is amazing! He takes time to really look over my skin and uses the least invasive techniques to treat the cancers. I just got back from my bi annual check and I only had one small area treated. I feel like with his help Im finally getting my skin issues under control. It does take more time to get into this office initially than other offices but that has been my experience with other high demand physicians. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Shuler. He is a wonderful doctor!

I have never written a review before but felt compelled with my recent experience. I called today to make an appointment for my yearly exam. I have not been in about 3 years and was long over due ( I actually had not realized it had been that long). I was told I could not make an appointment without a referral from my primary physician since it has been three years. What is upsetting is that I have been going here for years and due to life getting in the way, was overdue for my skin check up. Instead of looking to see that I have been a patient for so long, I was told no deal on getting an appointment without of referral. And then if I got a referral, it would be October before I could get in to see Dr. Shular. I know there are rules but if you have been a patient for a long time, wouldnt they try to work with you? I guess their business is so good that it doesnt matter. This really bothers me - I am not a stranger to their business but sure was treated like one.

Dr. Jamison was very professional and thorough, much more so than my two previous dermatologists. His aide was also very professional and courteous. In dealing with the front office staff over the phone, everything was handled very well. The only thing I would like to note about the office staff is that they need to spend more time engaging their patients, by looking at them when they come in and greeting them. They are so busy getting everything into the computer system that they never seem to see you. The requirement that you wait by table to check in until called is a bit off putting. All that said, it was a very good experience and I would recommend this practice.

The care received was ok - some skin cancer removed. Two years later, I called back to make another appointment to remove additional skin cancer and they told me that I had a balance owed (a small one at that - that I knew nothing about), and that because I had an unpaid balance, they could not make an appointment to check the cancer on my face until that balance was paid in full. I asked them to please send me an itemized statement, and promptly called another well-known Skin Cancer clinic. While I am happy to pay any balance owed, and will certainly do so, I refuse to see doctors who put money before their patients health. Especially where cancer is concerned.

The doctors are fine but good luck seeing one. I was an established patient and developed a burning rash on my face. The front desk offered me an appointment one month away. I explained that my face was on fire. She said someone would call me back but it could take up to 48 hours, which is exactly how long it took. By then my PCP had worked me in - shes awesome! Of course they poo pood my doctors treatment, but at least she was willing to help me. They said to call back if the rash returned but werent willing to provide any direct phone numbers. I know that specialists usually have poor availability, but I expected better treatment than this.

What a waste of time. Going on a MONTH since my referring doc sent the referral with absolutely NO CALL from Carolina Dermatology. I have called them and spoken with their inept and ill mannered receptionist 3 times trying to schedule an appointment, to no avail. The reason is always different, nut the result is always the same. Funny, but I called another dermatologist just down the street and they were able to set an appointment for me that day. The appointment was 3 weeks out, but its nice to actually have an appointment. Ridiculous.

Really loved this office! I saw Dr Shuler and he was a great dermatolgist. I felt like he was very thorough and kind. I also trusted him which is really what you want in a doctor. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. It was also clean and comfortable. Id highly recommend this office if you are seeking a dermatogist in greenville!! Yes you do have to wait to see them for your first visit and you do need a referral from a primary care doctor. However, it seems to me its because they are a really great practice!!

I called to set up appointment for new pt based on recommendation from my PCP to inspect a possible malignant skin mole. Next new pt appt was in October (7 months away). WOW!! Not exactly what the time you want to wait to if you have cancer. Shame on the biz policy here. Furthermore, my insurance allows me to seek any provider w/o referral and this office policy state you MUST have referral. Take your biz elsewhere, I am!

Dont waste your time with Carolina Dermatology. I just moved to the area, and they would not give me an appointment without having a referral from your primary physician. I tried having my previous dermatologist give a me a referral, but they said, "Dont waste your time with them. Most dermatologist dont require a referral." I called up another dermatologist in the area and scheduled an appointment without a referral.
