The one positive about my experience here has been getting the Mirena IUD-- however, the process of having it implanted and the callousness of the NP I saw has prompted me to seek gynecological care elsewhere. (Initials are BDH) If you are squeamish about pain down there, please dont read further; I try not to get graphic, but I need you to understand how wretched this experience truly was. First of all, my abrupt shift in periods from being regular to being unpredictable and unhealthy were blamed on my weight. I was (and am) skeptical, as my weight had not changed at the time of this dramatic shift. The Nurse Practicioner had the tech do a transvaginal ultrasound (which made me nauseous and I had to recover after the ultrasound) to see if I had cysts on my ovaries; seeing no cysts, she pronounced me free of PCOS. I am not a gynecologist, and Ill freely admit that. However, my understanding is that cysts do not necessarily indicate the presence of PCOS, and that PCOS does not always show up on these ultrasounds. No blood tests were done to check my hormone levels or to even establish a baseline for later tests, so Im not sure the ultrasound is conclusive of anything. Now Im seeking another gynecologist to confirm and to check in on the IUD, but I now suspect that I have vaginismus and that this would explain why every pelvic exam has been teeth-achingly painful, why Im unable to have PIV sex, and why I cannot use tampons. The process of putting in the Mirena was unbearable. I was nauseous when the speculum was inserted and began crying as soon as it was opened. The practioner, however, just kept telling me to relax and that I was making it worse and kept opening the speculum. I am no stranger to pain; I have persistent skin problems that cause me no end of grief. I have fibromyalgia and have been diagnosed with pain syndromes since I was 16. I suffer migraines regularly and try to work through them. I cannot even find shoes that fit without hurting my dang feet. So please believe me when I describe this pain as feeling like I was being split open, crotch first. I was sobbing and screaming for her to stop by the time she finished opening the speculum. She and the attending nurse, though, just kept telling me to calm down, to relax, that I was making it worse, that itd be over soon, etc. They behaved as though I was overreacting, and after the pap smear and IUD insertion, they left me alone to recover and get dressed. No one met my eyes as I was leaving, and no one checked on me despite my taking a while to recover This experience was awful. Ive been having issues with the IUD since day 1, but the thought of returning to her and having to deal with her, having to potentially be examined by her again, makes me nauseous all over again. Thats why Im seeking another gynecologist, and why I urge anyone considering this practice to avoid BDH. If a so-called medical professional refuses to deal with their patients pain in a caring, sensitive and concerned way, especially when theyre the one actively causing it, that should be a big red flag.

This is the absolute WORST WORST place to have a baby!!! I have never in my life been so unhappy with the customer service for the 9 months i had to go there. They screwed things up from the front desk, to the nurses, to the doctors all the way to the check out and billing!! I went in several times for contractions and was told everything was fine and "NORMAL" (which you will here no matter what you tell them) which it was not and i was in fact in serious preterm labor and was hospitalized for a week. And the doctor who i had seen that same morning in the office had the nerve to ask me why i had not mentioned these problems at my appts i then had to remind him that i had just seen him not even 8 hours ago and stated several times during my visit that something was not right!!! they do not bother to read your charts before speaking to you. the only good experience i have had with them was the delivery by Dr Moore he did a wonderful job, however now that everything is over I am suddenly getting random bills where they have either filed it wrong with my ins or coded it wrong and when you call to tell them they put you on hold forever then refer you to the billing department who will refer you back to them who will then tell you its your ins fault not theirs, I cant begin to tell you the irritation in having to deal with them!! I am pregnant again and would rather deliver my own child then ever have to deal with them again. I actually started to just google things that were happening to me bc at least i could get an answer besides "thats normal". if you want to wait an hour plus past your appt, spend less than 2 mins with your doc,or take a chance at having problems with your pregnancy then this is the place for you bc i guarantee at least one of those will happen. BEWARE!!

This practice is the worst! They do not explain your insurance benefits well or their charge for other services. At my first OB appointment with my first baby I received my blood work and the girl in the lab asked if I wanted to get a HIV test. However, she did not mention that the test would be $70 and I did not find this out until I got a $350 bill in the mail. They have no respect for your time and you wait forever to get ultrasounds and to only see the doctor for five minutes! In my opinion they overbook appointments all the time. I received an ultrasound there and they sent me a bill for $260 and after I switched doctors I received the same ultrasound for $130! At the end of my first trimester I switched doctors to Highland Center for Women and they are awesome!! I would recommend them to anyone, the staff and physicians are great and I am in and out in no time! Dont even waste your time with Piedmont!

I have been a patient of this practice for about 25 years and recommend them frequently to others. 5 kids later with #1 daughter being 6 weeks premature, #2 son 10lb term baby, #3 son as 10lb term, and 6 weeks premature twin sons for #4 and #5 both healthy and over 6 lbs! I wont go into details, but unique experience with each pregnancy and delivery and I couldnt have asked for better care throughout each pregnancy. I have seen every Dr in this practice- some who have retired- and have no complaints at all! The entire office staff are FABULOUS!!! The providers are confident, caring and personal- Ive never felt short changed at any visit. I live over an hour away and pass by many other OB-GYN offices, but Ive always said A GOOD DOCTOR IS WORTH THE DRIVE! I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Ive gone to see them twice during this pregnancy, for ultrasounds, since they manage GHS midwifery (who we are actually going with, they are wondeful) and although most of the staff is nice, the wait time is terribly long (we were there 1.5 hours for a 10 minute appointment). Each time Ive been, the doctors dont take into consideration what I tell them and dismiss my concerns, as if I dont know anything and they know it all. Its been incredibly frustrating, I would never choose them to be my main care providers.
