Great doctor , not so great staff. Completely rude, short, easily frustrated and the office is equipped with toys for children yet they are not child friendly at all. I asked if they had suckers and I was told, "if we actually saw children we might but we dont." A simple "no" would have been fine and I simply wanted to know how to play a "Frozen" movie for my children that was already on but not playing because some of us are stay at home moms and take our children where we go and just asking how to press play irritated the receptionist. Then when I called to re schedule (well ahead of time) an appt, I heard her muffle "God" under her breath. Im so sorry Im asking you to do your job. Ive had several bad experiences with this office including getting an IUD inserted which was extremely painful for me (Ive had 4 kids, I know pain) & there was absolutely no sympathy from anyone. I was in tears and when I requested to have it removed because it was killing me, I got a complete attitude. Lastly, you better be ready to wait. Hes a great doctor but you will be there easily two hours each time you go. It doesnt matter how early you are or on time, 15 minutes late, 15 minutes early -youre waiting two hours or more. And having orders or labs transferred is a complete nightmare I wont even get into but I will say this... When I called for the third time in one day after waiting two hours at a different lab at my primary doctors office, I was told they had faxed them and thats all they could do and she was extremely rude on the phone and said "you should have had them done here this morning ". I will have my labs done where I damn well please and if I would have gone in that morning, that would have meant I took my kids and after they got treated like a bother there previously, I really didnt want to put them in that situation again. They really need to work on their patient communication skills and smile more often. I hate to say I wont be back because I like Dr. Lodge.

Reviews are a funny thing. It seems many reviews are written by people having a really bad day or those who only complain & give bad reviews. I read some of the ones listed here and thought I better share what Ive learned about Dr. Lodge. My wife & I are both long-standing patients of Cool Springs Md & Dr. Lodge, so Ive seen alot while waiting for her. I really LOVE this practice! Dr. Lodge & his team do a fantastic job caring for all kinds of people, some who are having a really bad time in life. The front staff do a truly remarkable job juggling a very busy practice and making the patients feel welcomed and appreciated. Sometimes they use a little humor in order to share a smile. (Sometimes patients leave their sense of humor behind when going to the doctor, it seems!) The nursing care here is unlike any Ive ever seen. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable, skilled and caring. Dr. Lodge is a sharp doctor with a good wit, who isnt afraid of a challenge. My wife was having some medical problems. She went to multiple doctors who said she was fine, blood work was always said to be "within normal limits," that she was just aging & "feeling tired just goes along with it," 2 actually tried to put her on antidepressants! Dr. Lodge was the first one who really listened, then figured out how to restore her strength! Her thyroid wasnt functioning and her hormones were out of balance as well. Within a few months, she felt better than she had in years. Theyve helped me with weight management and hormone replacement as well. No place is perfect or gets everything right 100% of the time. If youre looking for a place with real people who take the time to listen to you, not afraid to figure out problems youre having with a personalized plan, and make a really good attempt to provide the highest standards, Dr. Lodge has thankfully retired from his Obstetrics practice so there are fewer cranky, stressed-out moms with wild kids in the waiting room now too!

Dr. Lodge is without a doubt the very best doctor I have ever encountered. Through active Listening he caught the source of my back pain that Many other regular doctors missed (gallstones) and added that area to an Ultrasound that he had scheduled to view a uterine fibroid tumor. He was spot on with his suspicion about the gallbladder and used his excellent networking skills to pull in another surgeon to tag team removing it while he performed a partial hysterectomy. Both laproscopic procedures were perfect with little down time. Fast forward from 2007 to 2015 and once again Dr Lodge shines through as the best Dr ever! Terrible pain and multiple trips to other doctors. A CT scan revealed an ovarian cyst and Dr Lodge took the time to Listen and really weigh the pros and cons of my options. He did bloodwork to learn more about the functionality of my ovaries and included me in on a best plan if action. After reviewing the CT results and other Dr notes he and his staff worked tirelessly to bring in 2 other surgeons to once again collaborate on a surgery that would give me my best financial (before year end) and recuperative (no missed work) outcomes. Im amazed that they were able to pull this off over the holidays on such short notice! 3 surgeons performing a bladder sling, hernia repair, and Dr. Lodge finding endometriosis caused the removal of both ovaries...finally the source of all that pain resolved!! Im 2nd day post op and tender but so greatful for Dr. Lodge and his amazing staff. He truly cares for his patients head to toe! His nurse may even have saved my young daughters future fertility. She always asks about my family and made a pediatric weight loss referral that led to diagnosis and now management of metabolic syndrome for my child! Just cant say enough about Lodge and his team!!

Today would have been my second appointment in your office. Upon arriving i had spoken with the office staff and billing clerk for insurance details (Which were given). Today i get there and I am told a fee of a little over $150.00 for my services for the day. I am sure it doesnt seem like much but as a single mom of three I need to prepare in advance for those types of charges. None of the staff on my numerous phone calls stated anything about the charge. I came up to front desk to discuss the charges and i was extremely embarrassed by the staff and how they handled the issue. I wasnt asked to step in and talk with the "Billing Manger", instead i was asked in front of other patients...”WHEN CAN I PAY, AND NO YOU COULDNT CHARGE MY CARD ON FRIDAY FOR THE SERVICES". I HAVE NEVER FELT SO HUMMLILATED AND EMBARRSSED AT A DOCTORS OFFICE. Then she asked when I would reschedule. I have taken off of work to come in drove from Nashville to Coolsprings and told” no i cant see you today” FOR LESS THAN $200; I LOVE THE DOCOTOR AND THE NURSES STAFF...BUT YOU NEED TO HANDLE patients WITH MORE EMPHTY AND DISCCRESTION WHEN SPEAKING ABOUT PAYMENT...SOMETHINGS SHOULD BE DISCUSSED IN PRIVATE AND NOT MAKE A EXAMPLE OUT OF THE "POOR BLACK GIRL"...I HOPE NO ONE EVER HAS THIS SAME EXPERIENCE...ESPECIALLY THE 2nd time around... Good Luck!! Update 11/24/2015 Since this issue the Nurse Kim called and we spoke, she was very understanding and i spoke with the office manger. Both ladies were extremely eager to fix the issue. i am happy to report i will continue to see Dr. Lodge. :)
