Dr. Smithson told me I needed 8 crowns. She did four on one side and my mouth has never been the same. I am still in pain and plan on taking this to the Dental Board. Two other dentists told me that she didnt fit the crowns right and that the teeth are still exposed on the bottom. On one visit I caught them trying to take an x-ray of a tooth they had already x-rayed because I had some insurance for the year left. During one of the crown procedures I woke up from sedation gagging, tried to get her attention, and she started screaming and cussing at me. This was all very disturbing and I just wanted to be done with her but now Im still in pain. The only solution is to cut off the crowns she installed and pay for new ones. Later, she did apologize for screaming and cussing and agreed that it was unprofessional. By the way, two other dentists told me that I didnt need the other crowns that she wanted to do. I wonder if I really needed the four she messed up. I am so sorry I trusted this dentist and Im scared that my mouth will never be the same.

This was the worst dental experience that I have ever had ... 1) The hygienist continually tried to convince me to have x-rays even though I was 8 months pregnant. She did not respect my wishes and made me feel bad for wanting to be cautious. 2) Dr. Smithson told me that I "may be developing a cavity" and schedule a filling for 2 days later. I canceled the appointment. I just had another appointment with a different dentist (6 months later) and do not have any cavities. 3) I waited for 25 minutes for Dr. Smithson to see me after the hygienist. I was the first appointment after lunch. 4) Even though my insurance covers a dental cleaning in full, Dr. Smithsons office charges an extra $8 fee. My insurance company said that this was illegal and was just a way for them to make extra profit off of all of their customers. I have never left a negative review for anyone before. I was extremely offended by Dr. Smithsons lack of professionalism and clear desire to basically rip me off!

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Smithson for more than ten years. We have ALWAYS received the best of care, from not only the good Doctor herself, but every person on her staff, from the hygienists to the receptionist. They are professional, caring, and extra helpful. Sonia Smithson is an ARTIST. She only wants to see the smiles of the people she helps. We have NEVER had to pay any excessive charges or fees to her, and she is an out-of-plan dentist with our current insurance carrier. I believe that the only reason I still have teeth in my head is that I lucked into finding Sonia Smithson (instead of someone else) all those years ago. I am a serious pain coward. She made some tough stuff easy for me, and did a sparkling job at it. The world is a better place for having a person like Sonia Smithson in it. Someone who takes the responsibility for what she does, and is a master at it. We need more artisans like that...

As did the Gentleman below, I also had issues with billing for dental care. It honestly wasnt a lot of money. In fact, only a few dollars. But I didnt receive the bill until 90 days after my visit. When I called to inquire why my insurance (which is to pay 100% of the bill) didnt cover all of it, the response I received was that "The insurance only pays 100% of the conventional and standard charges" My question was, what unconventional and non-standard charges was I charged with? Their answer, "There werent any that we would consider unconventional or non-standard. 99% of Dentists have charges that arent covered." That would have been nice to know 90 days ago when I actually went in. You can try to keep your business, Ill keep my $8. Call me if you desire to resolve this. Ive already called once.

Stay away from this dentist. They are all about billing insurance companies. I had an issue where they told me my insurance would cover it and it did not. I tried many times to work with them for at least a cash discount since it was nearly $1,000.00 coming out of my pocket and they refused, only offering to put me on a "payment plan" and charging me a huge late fee every month I didnt pay. They would not reduce the fee one cent or remove a late fee, even though insurance would have even paid a reduced rate. They ended up suing me for 21% interest and attorneys fees for over $2,500.00. The worst part is my family and I had been regular customers for several years. They have lost my business and respect and I would never recommend them to anyone as in the end they are all about money.

I had really bad experiences from childhood with visits to the Dentist. My roommate reccommended Dr. Smithson and so I went to see her. It had been several years since I had gone because of my fear. I was welcomed when I first arrived and made comfortable. Teresa, the hygenist, made me feel very at ease and she explained everything she was going to do before doing it and made my visit more bareable. That was over 5 years ago and now I dont mind going for my regular visits at all !!!!!!! The staff is the best, very friendly, courteous and always making you feel at ease. Going to the Dentist isnt the most desirable thing to do, but now with the experiences with Dr. Smithsons office I can go without any dread. Keep up the great work!!!

Since I moved to the Franklin are in 2000, I initially saw one dentist who didnt impress me and over-charged for a cleaning. So much so , that his own hygenist wasnt impressed with him. I found Dr. Smithson through a recommendation, and have never left! Her staff is the most polite, and entertaining. I have had several fillings and an implant with no long term discomfort. There is the occational "weird" feeling that subsides over a short period of time, like breaking in a new pair of shoes. Dr. Smithson has a very appropriate touch for the job at hand, and has always shown concern for my ability to "feel" discomfort. I strongly recommend Dr. Smithson for anyone who uses a dentist regularly or doesnt due to fear.

My entire family goes to Dr Smithsons office. Two of us are extreme cowards with anything involving dental procedures. After seeing her and her staff, I have no hesitation or problem walking into her office for my next appointment. They are always sweet, caring and kind. They even called to check up on me after my visit! My son adores her office and who could blame him! They make the visits for the little ones fun and even have holiday gifts! She honestly cares about each and every patient and it shows in every detail of this office. From the time you walk in, until the time you walk out, you feel and are treated as family.5 stars is not even close enough. It should be ten, fifteen or higher!

I had a very bad experience with this people specialy this sonia ,she is rude and racist ,she doesnt know how to treat the kids ,she was so scary for my daughter ,was making my daughter crying all the time,while my daughter was cry suffering,she never stop doing what she was doing,because she just focus to save time for next patients I mean for the next money, AFTER SHE DONE WITH MY DAUGHTER SHE STILL HAS THe SAME PAIN N WE NEED TO DO THE CROWN AGAIN SHE DID IT WRONG .she has been so rude also to her assistant, Also i had a lot of issues with the billing ,STAY AWAY OF THIS LADY PLEASE PLEASE
