Be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait... I was excited to switch to Dr. Basus office because a family member gave him a glowing review. At my first appointment, I waited for a very long time in the lobby and in the room only to discover that the office hadnt reviewed or didnt seem to have my medical records from my primary care doctor or from my other rheumatologist (which had both been faxed over to them per my request). So the first appointment was a total waste of 2 hours spent waiting, giving them medical information they already had, and explaining things they should already know. But I was willing to chock it up to the information that gets lost in a provider transition. Then, Dr. Basu gave me a lab order (for labs that had already been done by my previous provider in the past three months) and said to schedule a follow up in six weeks. When I got to the desk to schedule, they said that he was completely booked for at least 8 weeks. This should have been a sign of things to come, but I scheduled regardless. I was set for a 4:00 appointment on a Friday (their suggestion, not mine). I showed up at my appointment at precisely 4:00, because I spent so much time waiting after I showed up early to my first appointment. I waited in the lobby for 45 minutes without anyone telling me if the doctor was running behind or giving me any update. I then got called back to a room, where a nurse said "Ill come back and check your vitals." Fifteen minutes went by without the nurse returning or anyone giving me word about how long the doctor would be. I walked outside of my room and saw the nurse just sitting there casually talking to another nurse. At that point, I decided to leave. I went to the front desk to ask that they refund my copayment since I didnt get to see the doctor. The staff seemed confused about who I was, and kept repeating "She said she is here to see Basu. I thought he was done?" over and over in front of me. They refunded my payment, and I left feeling so frustrated that I was shaking. Im sure Dr. Basu is great, but I never even had the opportunity to see that. The total of my experience with this office was a lot of waiting, no communication, and a great deal of frustration. If you are going to make someone wait for an hour past their scheduled appointment time on a Friday afternoon, at least have the decency to give them an update on the situation. I understand that end of the day appointments can tend to run late due to backup from the rest of the day. But this was extremely disrespectful of my time.

My first visit was on May 23rd, I waited quite some time to get into this office. I heard they were great and well recommended for the most part. My appt was at 3pm. I arrived at 230pm to make sure I had all my paperwork correctly filled out and if they needed any other paperwork from me. I made sure to bring all my recent bloodwork/test results so he can answer any questions I might have had to compare with what he may do or need to do. I didnt go back to the room until 4pm without any acknowledgement. Once I was in the room the MA was sweet and friendly. I saw there was a basket of snacks/a remote to a tv that was on the wall and said "AM I really going to be waiting that long" Her comment back was at least 30 or so mins. Once Dr. Basu came in it was alot of tapping on the keyboard asking questions wanting quick answers. After many quick questions/lots of tapping on the keyboard he had me on the table, touched my hands ankles feet and gave me prescriptions. I was told he would have his staff call in my prescriptions to Express Scripts and I was on my way with a follow up appt supposed to be in 30 days but had to move to July 7th because he is out of the office until than. June 6 came and no prescriptions were called into Express Scripts I had to message them and ask if they even did it. In which they had not. Finally Express Scripts received it and sent a pre-auth to the office to they can approve it and the office took it as it wasnt approved so prescribe something else and just sent me a message on the portal rather than speaking with me regarding this medication. I have been now going back and for with the drs office and no resolution to my problem. I have yet to have my blood work put up on the patient portal as you are told once received it will be put up for you to have. If it wasnt for me being on Quests patient portal I wouldnt have the results of my blood work and I would still be waiting in anticipation. Very disappointed and concerned my future treatment maybe a disaster if something doesnt change.

3 hour average for appointment. 5 minutes with Doctor, 2 hrs 55 mins waiting. If you are 15 mins late - NOPE, no can see you, must reschedule in 2+ months! SORRY. NOPE, no prescription refills, you must see doctor for that. Front counter receptionist (VIDA) thinks shes a nurse, and is a hate filled mean spirited evil person. RUDE and uncaring! THIS A DOCTORS OFFICE, nobody coming here is visiting or patronizing as a PLEASURE - its a MUST, to get care, help and assistance. BUT VIDA (or VITA?) feels like youre there to order food or buy clothes. She doesnt understand you are there out of physical ailment or necessity. If you dont like dealing with PATIENTS - get another job where people who you deal with are NOT IN PAIN, NOT IN NEED! There is NO KINDNESS at the front desk - NONE.... And maybe book patients as you are able to see them in an orderly and timely fashion? I got left in the examination room for over 1 hour while the entire staff went to lunch! They left me waiting while they left and went to lunch. TRUE STORY. I will be finding another RA doctor that is NOT part of Texas Health... And if youre reading this Texas Health, do something about the desk receptionist Vida - She is rude and mean to patients.

I have been a patient of Dr Basus for at least 6- 6 1/2 years. He is a good Dr. However for about 5 1/2 of those years he has been the only Dr with TOO many patients to handle himself. I personally have waited 4 HOURS to see him!! THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! if you are 15 min late you have to reschedule. Finally. He got some help. She is a good Dr as well. They are both are, personable and understanding. THEY BOTH HAVE TOO MANY PATIENTS, They get booked up for the month and you might NOT get seen that month..I STARTED BOOKING MY APPOINTMENTS 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. THEN SOMETHING HAPPENS IN THEIR SCHEDULE AND YOU HAVE TO SUFFER FOR THAT. I BOOKED 2 MOS OUT AND GOT BUMPED. With NO accommodation.

I have had a horrible time getting the correct information for getting medication filled, 4 months in a row, incorrect Rx paper, changes to meds with no follow up and no one seems to know what is going on, it has gone from a great office to basically a mill. Pushing people through without tailoring to the patients individual needs. I am a patient with a rare condition and redhead and I had to find out I am taking a med that I dont even metabolize from a different doctor. It has been crazy the last 4 months. I have not been happy at all.
