The one writing this is the husband of Linda Scott. This is not a criticism of LGMC as a whole. We use doctors associated with LGMC and have found that most are good. My main complaint is with some who work in the ER,particularly with the initial screeners, the information received by the doctor in the exam room is only as good as the screener enters into the computer. On a Saturday night I took my wife to the ER over her objections, she has Stage 4 COPD, CHF,and cervical stenosis as major complaints, and is on pain meds. She had gained five pounds that day. I was relieved to see that the female screener who had been there in the past was not there as she was rude and incompetent. The screener this time was a young man with a smirk on his face and an immediate arrogant and condescending attitude. He should have known after talking to my wife the first few minutes that she was in no condition to answer his questions in any concise way.She said that her neck hurt, she can never remember cervical stenosis or CHF,not wanting to embarrass my wife by mentioning her memory problems, I interjected to tell him her medical conditions, where upon he rudely said"I cant talk to you both". I was already steaming because he had called my wife "sweetie",you can call a six year old girl "sweetie",but I find it very condescending and unprofessional for a man in his twenties to use that term for an elderly lady.I wanted to jump down his throat, but my wife was already unhappy with me for making her go,and since she knows I have a tendency to over react in this type of situation,I did not want to upset her further. After she was in the exam room,I went to the front desk and inquired who was over the ER employees, the young lady gave me a blank stare and replied she didnt know, but I could talk to the charge nurse, which I did,who was quite busy at the time, and a nice person,so I kept it short. This is not the only time I have had problems with medical staff due to their attitude,it seems to me that some of them think that if you are older and on Medicare, that they are doing you some kind of favor,if enough people complain, their attitudes might change. In the event someone in management reads this post, you have our phone number on file.

Took the man I take care of to the ER on 2/19. He was told fluid backed up again in his lungs and was squeezing his heart and he needed to be hospitalized to remove the fluid. He was there until I contacted his Nephrologist (kidney dr.) to have him transferred to Harris SW in Fort Worth so he could get a temp shunt put in his neck/chest area and LGMC does not have the ability to do this. He left on Tuesday. He is scheduled this week to have a fistula surgery. But my major complaints which I addressed with the charge nurse, were: 1. Lack of attention and follow through; 2. Dirty rooms that nurses and others threw their gloves, needle coverings and paper towels with blood on them directly on the floor and housekeeping did not care about cleaning up when she did make it to his room, so I did it; 3. His nurses and others told him they were going to get him whatever he needed and never came back like they disappeared in the abyss; 4. One nurse told me off and got upset and said OMG when she had to keep repeating her question over and over to a 77 year old blind and deaf man. Well hes almost completely blind and deaf; 5. There were a few like the respiratory therapists and the CNAS, the only dr. That I had to demand that he talk to me about what was going on, but he was understanding, and a few nurses, that were very kind and did their jobs and went out of their ways to help. Also the Coordinator was efficient in coordinating his transfer to another hospital. So this is a compliment; and 6. His food was always cold and they gave him someone elses dinner which was rectified. In general, he has been in this hospital quite a few times over a 10 year period so I automatically brought him there and disregarded his request to not take him there but to Harris Southwest in Fort Worth. After this horrible experience, I wasnt sure if hed be alive each day that he was there and I came to visit him. We had a perfect experience at Harris Southwest and I promised him I would not ever bring him to LGMC again unless time was a factor and he needed immediate emergency care, otherwise I will have to go to Fort Worth, where even I now agree with the neglectful treatment I witnessed.

Dont Be Mistaken by 5 Star, Fake Reviews or Biased Reviews Coming from Hospital Staff. If you click on the profiles of the 5 star locations, youll notice theyve only written one review and have no account activity outside of that. While they could be real people, I guarantee theyre biased, generic, copy and paste reviews to make the business look good at best. If thats changed as of this post, its because I made this post. Aside from that, wait times are not as advertised. Taking friends/family to this hospital, weve always been in the waiting room for several hours or had to turn away because of a serious condition and drive to another hospital 45 minutes away... Dont chop off your fingers, they probably wont be attached in time if you plan on going here. Prices are actually 1000%, like one of the reviews below said. I checked, and this hospital makes headlines for falling in that category, infamously. I noticed other reviews regarding rude staff. I havent noticed this personally, but they are understaffed every time Ive been. I havent been here for my own personal reasons, just when driving or being there for friends/family, and Ive still received fake bills from this hospital claiming I owe thousands. I dont know if someone is running a separate scam pretending to be this hospital, but be wary. Dont pay anything sketchy.

The worst hospital Ive ever been to. They ask my son personal questions about his home life. This is only to get C.P.S. involved. They ignore me the parent. They couldnt find out what was blocking my airways even after taking several X Rays. I went home and suffered the same problem two more times but went to an out of town hospital which was 100% better than LGMC. They overcharge you. The original bill is definitely not what you are harassed about later. They also will sue you and the attorneys will not accept your payment plan. I always hear out here in Granbury, "Dont go to Lake Granbury Medical Center!" Believe me you dont want to. My daughter and son-in-law took my granddaughter to get a tag removed from her rear-end a few years ago. My granddaughter was five. She was told to lay on her back on the table. She was nervous when the doctor was looking at her bottom so he told my son-in-law to lay on top of her...whatever that was about. My daughter came home telling me how rude the doctor was and how he told my son-in-law to lay on top of her. They snatched my granddaughter up and left mad. Really the whole truth I think is that they are going out of business. Good riddance!! Really it doesnt deserve 1 star. Ill never go there again even if I was dying if I can help it!
