I cannot stress enough the importance to look up and understand "facility fees". I had a surgery at this hospital which then had simple check up follow ups at the hospitals clinic attached. The clinic is simple exam rooms with a single chair as found in any normal doctors office. I went to my follow up appointments and each visit unknown to me I was being charge an $874 "facility fee" on top of whatever procedure fee was present. So for a $120 dollar check up for the doctor to view the surgery site for healing I was charged an additional $874 facility fee to help the hospital as a whole stay open, even though I was just utilizing the clinic room. In other words had I seen the same type of doctor at any other office location it would have been $120, but since baylor scott and Whites doctors are employed by the hospital they automatically attach the facility fee making it a $994 10 minute visit each time, if you have an 80-20 insurance then that is roughly 200 each visit that you would not pay seeing the same doctor at any other office location that is not a baylor scott and white. If you Google and research facility fees it will make more sense to you what these hidden fees actually are; I found out the hard way and as a result I can no longer go to a baylor scott and white facility as now I understand there will be almost 1k in additional facility fees which have no purpose to my personal visit, so I had to take all my records and continue care with an ent at another office and magically my appointments are now just the doctors fees, not a 1k add on. I would expect these fees if I went to the ER, but had no idea they apply to ALL baylor scott and white facilities regardless. I STRONGLY recommend you ask up front about the "facility fees" as I was expecting a 100 dollars ish appointment which turned into a 1000 dollar charge multiplied by my 4 separate 10 minute check ups, had I known I would have just gone to a provider at an office. Do some research, and I would consider care elsewhere where you will just pay for your direct care, not an arbitrary "facility fee" which has nothing to do with the equipment YOU actually require.

Ive been a patient here for several years. I was once very happy with the care I was receiving, but recently dealing with these people has been infuriating. Like other reviewers have stated, they are very expensive and they will not work with you to lower your bill. I have been quoted much lower prices than were eventually charged multiple times. I have an existing chronic illness, and it seems that to my doctors that means they can stop taking my other complaints seriously. I am now dealing with a more complicated issue and being bounced around from office to office and they all refuse to take point on the issue and get it resolved. Getting pain management, even from a clinic like rheumatology, is like pulling teeth. Pain management for me is low dose Tylenol 3 and I still had to jump through hoops and beg my doctor. I have been dealing with the same devastating issue for over six months and still do not have a diagnosis. No one at Scott and White cares to figure out what the issue is. Dr. Houston in the ER is a disgrace to his profession. I have never been treated so poorly and irresponsibly by a doctor. I informed him and his nurse both that I was allergic to morphine and I know it is documented in my chart. Can anyone guess what the very first medicine he tried to give me was?! I filled out a survey and complained about the treatment and never heard back. Scott and White has made ALOT of money off of my well insured self. That will no longer be the case. Move on, this place has no interest in your real health. 3/26/2017: Wanted to add that two weeks ago I attempted to reach out to a patient advocate to get these issue resolved. I left a message and no one returned my call. I have called multiple times, and mailed in a survey where I included my information. I did not get a response until I left this review. A little late.

I went to Scott & White for a while. I was being treated by my obgyn for infertility. She said I didnt ovulate every month. No big deal. I started having intense pelvic pain, and she said it was from my period. No big deal. I ended up in the Scott & White emergency room. They took an x-ray, found nothing, told me I was constipated, and sent me home, still in pain. On my way out some guy chased me down trying to get the payment for the visit. It hadnt even gone through our insurance yet. The pain increased. I saw a gastroenterologist on top of being treated by my obgyn. She told me it was IBS. I wasnt feeling any better, but she said she didnt want to do any tests right now and that I should wait. Its good I didnt. I ended up at Setons emergency room. They did an ultrasound and found that I had several ovarian cysts, one the size of a softball. I was furious that the other several doctors I saw at Scott & White didnt find these! I had surgery and found out that I have stage 4 endometriosis. I lost my fallopian tubes. If the doctors I was seeing at Scott & White did their job, maybe my disease wouldnt have progressed this far. Now, over a year later, Im still getting bills from them for various amounts. I asked them why the amount keeps changing and why they waited a year before billing me, but no one is being helpful.

Awful! Can I give this zero stars? Made an appointment with Dr. Vertrees for a possible brain tumor and her receptionist told me I had to take a class on migraines to see her. I told her thats not acceptable because I dont even have migraines and she made the appointment for me without the class. I showed up to my appointment and the doctor wouldnt see me because I didnt take the class. I was nice and offered to make an appointment with a different doctor, Dr. Musselemi, and he was very unimpressive. He made rude comments about my primary doctor and the fact that I had the audacity to bring my baby with me to my appointment. At the end of the appointment he said he didnt know what was wrong and told me to go take the class so I can see the doctor who "knows more about this stuff." THE SAME MIGRAINE CLASS FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE MIGRAINES. I do NOTTT need a headache class, I need a shunt put into my brain. This is not a matter of managing pain or migraine symptoms and apparently this office cannot get it together enough to take care of me. Im surprised there are any patients at this clinic, how the heck are they convincing adults to give up hours of their life for classes they dont need?? Awful.

While I have no complaints about the nurses or doctors, I give only one star because of Baylor Scott & Whites fraudulent billing practices. I went to the Round Rock clinic for a postpartum exam with a nurse practitioner. The appointment consisted of a 10 minute conversation and an exam that lasted less than two minutes. Baylor Scott and White sent my insurance two bills, each for over $500 for this appointment. When I asked about why the charges were so high I was told "that is just what is charged." One bill is for the provider and one is a hospital bill. I was charged this not because I was admitted into the hospital, but because the clinic is at the hospital, so I am responsible for facility fees? I was at the clinic for 20 minutes and did not use any of their equipment apart from the blood pressure machine and a scale! Beware of BSW - they will overcharge you and then double your bill. $1000 for a postpartum check up?!? I cant believe this type of billing is legal - its absolutely unethical. BSW does not care about its patients - only the bottom line. My sons pediatrician was a part of Baylor Scott & White but I am changing practices TODAY.
