I have a very high prescription, meaning I cant see much of anything without glasses or contacts. I have worn glasses or contacts since I was in elementary school. In general, I could get a great correction on the contacts, but not on the glasses. Dr. Ford has consistently given me the best correction in glasses that I have ever had: I can see as well out of my glasses as my contacts. What he does that makes him so different is that at the end of the refraction for glasses, he puts together the lenses that make up the prescription youve just chosen. Then he asks you which one you see better out of, the new prescription or the one you are wearing. This is really important if your glasses are expensive, which mine are. Without this extra step, youre taking pot luck as to whether it is the best correction for you, and you end up with a pair of expensive glasses you cant see out of. His equipment is top drawer and offers specialized tests to check your peripheral vision and a retinal scan, and can keep a watch on the progression of things from year to year. He is also forthright. He tells you what he thinks the best course of action is in any given situation. It may not be what you want to hear, but its clear the well-being of the patient is foremost.

Always a great experience if you can think going to a medical appointment as something to look forward too. Great doctor and staff plus the most advanced state of the art equipment with professionals that know how to operate the equipment, explain in layman terms what the results reflect and any necessary treatments or recommendations as a result of the tests/exam. Large selection of frames, lens types and great service. My thanks for a pleasant visit. Now you have got to make me look great in my new glasses--my "friend" will say good luck with that.
