Dr. McGuiness is great. However, he is so busy these days that seeing a PA is the only way to avoid about a 2 month wait. And the ladies in his office are rude and about as helpful as their poor attitudes will allow them. Lots of turnover with PAs it seems which Im told is symptomatic of larger problems. They also attempted to charge me for a fee from 4 years back they forgot to send to the insurance company. Literally told me I couldnt schedule an appointment when I called. When I called the insurance company they said some doctors offices who forget to send in the cost to the insurance company try and charge the patient due to their negligence. the insurance company told me to ask if they ever tried previously to send me the bill and further articulated the doctors office will most likely do a quick reversal as its considered an unethical practice. When I called and asked them this question, they put me on hold then came back and interestingly enough told me the charges were written off it has been so long and I could go ahead and schedule an appointment. Needless to say I am changing dermatologist. I actually loved McGuiness but over the last few years the practice as taken a turn towards the negative and its really unfortunate given how much I liked this doctor.

I have used other dermatologist in the Plano area and have NOT been happy with their level of care. I finally found Dr. McGuiness and am so thankful. He is an incredible dermatologist and I have recommended him to so many of my friends and family. He does a thourough and extensive skin check on me every 6 months and I finally have someone that cares about my health and the prevention of skin cancer. He is informative, answers many questions, and recommends so many things to keep my skin healthy moving forward. Dr. McGuiness has a machine call Melafind that you can not find in every dermatologist office. This machine can determine that severity of a mole, and in many cases, on me it has prevented the removal of a healthy mole or prompted a removal of a pre cancerous mole. I have learned the hard way that I should have taken better care of my skin throughout my life, but now, with Dr. Mcguiness, I know I am in good hands and I rest easier knowing my pre cancerous moles have been found and continue to be found before any severe damage. I finally have a doctor that is aggressive in making sure my skin is as healthy as it can be, and I know I am in the best hands possible..... and to a mom of four, that is a great feeling. I highly recommend Dr. McGuiness...on a scale of 10 he is a 15+. Reviews are very subjective. Most people tend to vent a negative experience rather than take time to comment on truly remarkable medical care. I was more than surprised at the genuine compassion, proficiency and experience provided by Dr. McGuiness. Often, we visit doctors and accept a busy schedule as an excuse for the quick "in and out" visit, limited " true care", and walk out with a prescription to, hopefully, heal the problem. That is not the case with Dr. McGuiness. He is one of the most caring and "absolutely" focused physicians that I have encountered over many years. Dr. McGuiness makes you feel that you are his "only patient" and has the rare ability to engender trust that he will find a solution to your problem, regardless of time. That fact, in itself, is unusual in this rushed medical system. Coupled with expertise, empathy, professionalism and top notch staff... and you have a doctor that was more in the norm 25 years ago than the present day. If you are in need of a highly skilled, "one of a kind" physician, expect to be amazed with the care that Dr. McGuiness and his staff provide.

Ive been a patient at McGuiness Dermatology for 3 months now and I love it! I started by seeing Dr Jennifer Snipes and she was lovely - put me on Accutane right away after I requested it. (Ive been battling acne for the past 12 years, seeing different dermatologists all over the country, on all kinds of creams, antibiotics, gels, ointments, etc and nothing has worked.) This past appt I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Amin and she was just wonderful! She even offered a bag of samples of lotions and skin care products because my skin has been extra dry because of the meds. She even threw in some sunscreen for my baby! If youre looking for a quality dermatologist who provides wonderful service, genuinely listens and wants to do whats best for YOU - you have to go here!!!

I highly recommend this office. I saw Dr. Amin who did a full body check. She was very thorough. The last time I had a full body check it was hardly a glance. This time was much more thorough. She was very nice and very personable and easy to talk to. Her nurse, Beth, was also very nice and the front office staff were all very nice, as well. I used to go to another dermatologist in Carrollton and their office staff obviously hated their jobs and were never nice, every single time I went in there. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they all were after my experience at the other office. Also, I didnt have to wait long, which is always a plus! I will definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dermatologist.

Sarah Scoville, the medical esthetician is a laser specialist with a high level of training and experience in dealing with medical skin issues. Because lasers are not risk free and can be so harmful in the wrong hands I want a true expert. Sarah has been very kind focused and detail oriented with my treatments. Also, Ive seen the PA Diana Reyes in the past, for some complex issues and she is great, very knowledgeable and aware of the most current treatment options. Ive also seen Dr. McGuiness and found him to be an excellent Dermatologist (Ive seen derms very regularly over the years for ongoing skin issues).

Dr. McGuiness and staff have been taking care of my dermatology needs for several years. I have always come away with an excellent experience and my visit today was no exception. From the professionalism to the great bed-side manner, my needs are always met. I would recommend Dr. McGuiness and his staff at this location (Plano) to everyone. Jennifer Snipes was my first introduction to Dermatology about 6 weeks ago. She was great!! She was very educational and professional. I have had to follow up with the "Mole Specialist" upstairs to remove basal cell cancer and another mole that could turn into cancer. After meeting the entire group, I am much impressed with the techniques used and the follow up care provided. Dr. Modi is GREAT!!! I work in a hospital and have spread the word that this office has it down-Comfort, Professionalism, and Respect are the core of what I experienced. Thank you everyone for all that you do!
