If I could give 0 stars I would. I loved the nurse I worked with in his office. That aside, I went in for a minor mole removal procedure to be taken for biopsy that ended up being quite painful. I remember not caring for Dr. Rasmussens bedside manner- he was a bit rough- and it felt like he was trying to rush through. I went back to his office 2 times within 5 days to have my bandage changed because I had bled so much. The 3rd visit I went back because the area on my leg where the mole had been removed started to look infected and I was in pain. He prescribed antibiotics and sent me along on my way. 5 hours later I couldnt walk I was in the worst pain Ive ever experienced in my life. I couldnt touch my toe on the ground without pain shooting up my leg. We emergency paged Dr. Rasmussen, he called, and I explained the pain and my fever rising to 102 at that point. He said the antibiotics likely needed to set in and to follow-up in the morning. That evening we saw red streaks shooting up my leg and thats when my husband carried me out of the house to the ER. I ended up being admitted to the hospital for 5 days and went into severe sepsis. This was one of the scariest experiences of my life, and I could have lost my life. The mole removal procedure caused cellulitis which then caused a life threatening blood infection. Dr. Rasmussen was aware of my hospital admittance. I understand I can not pinpoint what caused this infection and I have no way to prove it was due to careless practice or unsanitary procedure. That is all speculation. However, what I can tell you is the reason why I have high suspicion now about the original procedure is because of how Dr. Rassmussen handled what happened next. I had to return to his office to have the stitches in my leg removed after I got out of the hospital. I was weak, exhausted, and still sick. My mother-in-law flew out to take care of me and went to the appointment with me. With her as my witness, the Dr. walked into the room after knowing everything I had been through, opened the door with no gloves, sat down, touched things on the stand, did not wash his hands, and immediately sat down and put his bare hands on my open wound that was still very fragile and sore. With tears in my eyes I challenged the Dr. which was hard for me to find the courage to do and said "Dont you think you need to wash your hands?" and his reply was "Oh I did before I came in the room." And by that time the stitches were out and it was over. After being in the hospital in a life threatening state of sepsis from a bacteria and needing to be treated with 3 of the strongest antibiotics out there (daptomycin, clindamycin, vancomycin), Dr. Rassmussen didnt even follow the basic standard protocol all Drs learn: Wash your hands. He treated my open, vulnerable wound with his bare hands and didnt have the decency and respect to stop and listen to what I was saying when I expressed my concern. Its taken me over 2 years to write this review as Ive been battling the lasting effects of sepsis that have forever changed my life. I had the "client advocate" look into the entire case but ultimately theres nothing I can "prove." All the procedures (surgery, bandage changes, stitch removal) were done behind closed doors as any Drs office does. All Drs at the very least should wash their hands, if not put on gloves when dealing with an open wound. He is clearly still practicing. I hope this review makes you think twice about seeing him. Keep looking for another Dr. if you want to be treated with care, respect, and clean hands. It could save your life.

If you want a doctor who will waste your time and charge you money to pay for their mistakes, by all means- go see Doctor Rasmussen. Their front desk is friendly, but their nursing staff is grossly incompetent. Avoid this office. Im sure the anonymous positive reviews of him are not authentic.
