What a difference a second and third opinion can make... This place is like the Ritz Carlton of Animal Hospitals, so be prepared to take a hit to your wallet. They want $50 just to see your animal, Ive found several places since that dont even charge you for seeing the Vet. Getting all of your dogs shots will run you well into the $150+ range, when I just got them done for my dog and it cost me $60 at another place in West Jordan. The main reason for being upset with this place is the Doctors handling of my labs issue with his eye. The Doctor diagnosed him with a meibomian tumor, which supposedly is a pretty intensive surgery to remove. They estimated the procedure to cost over $900 (online searching had averages around $600) so I decided to get a second opinion. I called around and took my lab to two different vet hospitals and both Vets were under the impression it was nothing more than a wart. Seems fishy that the doctor at Pet Care wanted a $900 payday when two other vets agreed it was much simpler and cheaper. The cost of which to remove was around $70 total. I just had the eye treated and my dog and I couldnt be happier. I am thankful I did a discount double check, my dog, wife, and wallet are definitely happier too. Be prepared to be overcharged and potentially over-diagnosed, they have to pay for all that overhead somehow...

I have had 2 horrible experiences at this place, both regaurding the front desk receptionist. The first time my girlfriend and I brought her dog there because he wasnt eating and throwing up. We showed about 45 minutes before they closed, we talked with the receptionist and she was very short and really seemed like she just wanted to go home. We explained that the dog was sick and asked to talk to the vet. She walked to the back for a couple of minutes and the proceeded to tell us that theres nothing they could do. I understand it was late but she showed no compassion and her attitude was deplorable. The second was incident was involving the grooming of my dog. I made a appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday. I was unable to take my dog because I was stuck at work. My mom showed up about 10:15 and the receptionist was completely rude and told my mom that she was late and needing to reschedule. The appointment was indeed scheduled for 10:30 and the receptionist was still rude and very distasteful. My mom left and Ill never go back. Ill recommend to all of my friends and people I know to stay away from this place because the people there are completely unprofessional and to be frank a joke.

This office has been outstanding time and time again. We recently adopted a senior cat from the shelter and chose this vet based off of location and reviews as our primary care facility for the newest addition to the family. The staff here is so warm and welcoming to both pets and parents! They have handled check ups and vaccinations with ease and in such a timely fashion. I feel like they genuinely care for my fur baby as much as I do. He recently got sick and was in need of some medical attention. The staff took outstanding care of him yet again and managed to provide quality care while staying cautious of our budget. I have never been to a vet that has been so open about the cost of tests and which actually needed to be done. It really helped us stay on track on find the best solution of our cat. Most vets will runs tests just to run up the bill despite them being useful or not! Thank you again to everyone at Petcare Animal Hospital. I will forever be bringing any animal I have here as long as I am living in the area!

Having never been to PCAH, we first went in with our 16 year old cat who it turns out, was in renal failure. Dr. Matheson and Steve, a vet tech, were incredibly compassionate. We werent established clients but they treated us exactly how you would want to be treated in that situation: with empathy and as though we had been life-long patrons. Dr. Matheson carefully explained the prognosis and our options and gave us room to make the decisions we felt were best. We took our cat home with some meds to make her comfortable. I will forever be thankful that we had a few days to say goodbye to her at home. When we brought her back a few days later to say our last goodbye, the staff was again so caring and had the level of reverence that felt appropriate for how weighty the situation felt to us. Losing a pet is so hard and I feel so fortunate that we found PCAH when we did because they made that painful process go as smoothly as it could.

My dog suddenly started urinating inappropriately, and as she had a history of UTIs and other things, I called my vet clinic as soon as they opened (on a Wednesday, 8am.) They had no openings and could get me in "ASAP" late Friday morning. Not willing to let my dog ( and carpeting!) suffer, I called Petcare Animal Hospital mostly due its proximity to my house. Beka got my dog in for 2pm same day, the nurse Steve was so kind and calming to my excitable puppy, and Dr. Matheson took the time to explain what he was recommending and why. He explained the treatment and what the next steps would be should this not solve her issues. Steve talked to me about prices as each thing was brought up, so there was no sticker shock at the end. He then walked me to my car since my daughter was crying in her stroller, dog was bouncing all over, plus i was carrying all the dog stuff. So kind of him to help!

I had the best experience here! The ladies at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming and we were seen immediately, I think even 15 minutes before our actual appointment! Dr. Emch is seriously the most patient and kind man ever. He came in and quietly allowed my dog to get comfortable and settle down before evaluating him. He let my dog jump all over him to give him kisses and made sure I knew that he expected dog kisses. He was very knowledgeable, recommended a treatment plan and answered every single one of our many questions. Erica was our nurse tech and she was also super sweet! Dr. Emchs treatment plan has been working so far! They sent us a welcome letter and called us a few days after our appointment to check up on our dog! Thank you guys so much for squeezing us in during a busy holiday week and treating us like family!!

We have 2 dogs, and have been taking both here since they were pups. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable- they are aware of the skittishness issue one of our dogs has and do their best to make each visit as tolerable for him as possible. We have never had an issue with NOT being quoted prices- you just simply ASK and they tell you they even have signs posted in the exam rooms stating as much. As far as pricing goes- these dogs are members of our family and yes sometimes the bills add up but their health is our concern. Petcare has been very good at working with us to find solutions but not break the bank. All in all the Veteranarians here are wonderful and kind to our boys and that is the reason why we will always come to them!!
