My daughter was in Idaho getting ready for a show in OR and realized that her trainer had not given her the proper health paperwork to transport her horse over state lines. She tried to get in touch with her trainer, but found she was in the hospital. This was at 8:30 at night and they were planning on leaving at 6 am. I called SVLAC and got the answering service, the vet called me back almost immediately, heard my sad story and got in touch with a tech still at the office. The Tech got the paperwork together, and signed, and faxed to my daughter.. I was so relived, my daughter is now on her way to Bend OR with her horse. The people at SVLAC went out of their way to let my daughter make this show. They were pleasant and very helpful and went above and beyond for something that was not an animal emergency.

My horse came here during an emergency without my knowledge from the stable owner. I didnt get a call from them for at least three days to let me know something had happened. When I finally was alerted they had already begun a colic surgery which ended my horses life all without even giving me a chance to decide. Worse, they never let me see him to say goodbye and even disposed of my horse blankets. I had a huge battle with them after this because they wanted compensation. In the end they got no money but it wont ever take pain away. Ultimately they did not make my horse Ill, that fell to the stable owner who ignored key signs and myself for missing some obvious things. We would expect a reputable clinic like this to follow their own rules.

Dr. Hammer is amazing! His good natured attitude and ability to explain any diagnosis in terms even a toddler can understand (I know this because my 3 year old grandson accompanied me on our latest trip and had to know EVERYTHING that was happening) is fantastic. His interaction with our horses is always kind and compassionate, with minimal stress involved. That, in itself, is worth its weight in gold. We will continue to travel from Tooele County for his expert veterinary care!

I just wanted to thank the staff last Saturday morning for their kindness and compasion in taking care of a very difficult task for me with my horse. He was born on a Stromie night in April, 26 years ago. He was a great companion through the years riding and hunting the mountians of Utah. I love dogs but to me there is only one mans best freind its a horse. Once again thank you so much.

Amazing! Dr. Heaton and his technician took amazing care of my nervous mare. She was having trouble with limping and got diagnosed with laminitis and foundered. We talked about options and got a treatment plan together. He was very nice and made sure I had no more questions. Happy to say my girl is doing good and on the road to recovery! I love this facility and recommend it to everyone!

The male vet here was horrible. Made the experience of having my old sick cat put to sleep a nightmare experience. "Told me to get a hold" of myself when I was crying. My cat died on the table before he injected him and he still injected him anyway! If you love your animals DO NOT go here!

They said we could bring my horse over the same day I called, had everything they needed right there, prescribed and sent me home with a medicine for my horses eyes (flies had been plaguing her) and it worked and now shes fine. Couldnt ask for more.

I LOVE <3 Every DR. here at SVLAC. You will not find Higher Quality Care for your Large Animals, in UT or surrounding States. I cant recommend any other clinic to someone. This is a clinic that treats you with great care and sensitivity.
