Intelligent and certainly capable, Dr. Lucey failed to properly investigate and diagnose what was clearly a skin infestation by mites (my dog caught it at grooming center, and it CAN jump to humans). Her diagnosis was it was "delusional". Not uncommon according to other sufferers, I expected more from Dr. Lucey. Now with permanent scars from the "imagined" malady, I am getting proper treatment for what is a very real and very challenging to cure malady. I encourage anyone who has this to not give up. Online support groups exist (Facebook). Many dermatologists are not up the speed on what is becoming a growing problem and med-resistant adaptation by the mites. There are in fact many types of mites than can infect humans, from those that live on and in our skin naturally, to those univited. For many, it is horrific and scars on face and body the reminder of months or even years of issues. What was known by most physicians 10 years ago is outdated. One needs to find a physician who understands and has current experience successfully treating the malady and will start treatment immediately (can take only two weeks and two treatments, but more often than not, it takes weeks to months to ensure all eradicated). I recommend going elsewhere than Dr Lucey though. Too bad, she is smart. Its her arrogance, observed tendency to pre-judge and pre-determine the diagnosis, versus proper due diligence and investigative research work that undermines her. Simply listening carefully to the patient and asking good questions would have uncovered this. Cost me scars, a lot of money, and weeks of lost time. Sorry but one star it is.

I have never in my life posted a review of any service, restaurant or product I have received. The first time I met with Dr. Lucey I thought she was smart, decisive and friendly. She recommended laser treatment for precancerous sun spots and unwanted facial hair. Two days after my treatment I have severe second degree burns covering the entire lower part of my face. Dr. Lucey told me I would have two hours of redness and swelling and then Id be fine. Several hours after the therapy I noticed large red and brown burns with blisters forming. I called the office and was told there was no way to page or contact Dr. Lucey (what?). I was asked to come in to see the physicians assistant. She immediately called Dr. Tamjidi, the head of the office, in to see me. Dr. Tamjidu put me on a prescription topical steroid, an antibiotic and an anti-Herpes medicine bc the burns can cause cold sores. I will go see Dr. Tamjidi in a week to determine next steps but at this stage my entire lower face has extremely visible burns like a hot iron was taken to my face. Dr. Tamjidi told me that Dr. Lucey should have used a 30-35 level setting with the laser, and records showed that she used a 75. There is absolutely no explanation for this doctor ruining my face. What is possibly even more insulting is that Im two days out and havent received a phone call, an email, or anything from Dr. Lucey. Abominable. I cant say enough good about Dr. Lucey. I took my son to her and was so impressed by her manner and knowledge base. We have had excellent results. What probably impressed me as much or more than the positive resolution of the presenting problem was that she paid attention beyond that problem. While there she check his moles (I work for a cancer prevention organization and appreciate her attention to and expertise in detecting skin cancers). She didnt just read blood work results for what we were testing for; she communicated other information as well. This was Not my experience with our previous Doctor. So, for solving the presenting problem and for looking at my son more holistically, I give Dr. Lucey the highest rating. I have recommended her to several friends, colleagues and mothers and all have echoed my praise, thanked me, and shared Dr. luceys contact info with others. A real find!
