Reading the bad review has me very upset, because that person clearly didnt spend much time with Dr. Chun. Also, you cant write something that negative and then not explain it! THAT is unethical. Heres my review: We used to go to Burke Vet Clinic I thought it it was very overpriced. I couldnt get Lewis out of there for less than $250. Well, I overheard some dog owners talking about this new place in Fairfax, Pet Lovers, so I called and made an appointment for a long-overdue tune-up for Lewis. The friendly desk person made an appointment for just two hours later! I went in and the place is brand new and spotless. Smells fresh, nice and clean, and after filling out a short info form we were swept into a good-sized exam room. Dr. Chun and his assistants Catherine and Stacy took great care of Lewis. Dr. Chun was WONDERFUL. He practices both traditional veterinary medicine and Eastern medicine on pets! Thats right - acupuncture, etc. I didnt even know that existed! Lewis calmed right down and Dr. Chun checked him out very well and didnt charge any extra (we just needed to update his shots). Dr. Chun checked out Lewiss ears and taught me how to clean them correctly (as Id been told differently). He checked Lewiss toosh, updated his shots, and we found out Lewis has Lyme Disease! Dr. Chun provided me with a fairly-priced antibiotic to rid Lewis of it, as well as product recommendations for heartworm meds and flea/tick repellant. He saved me so much money by recommending fairly-priced items vs. others who were just trying to sell sell sell. Lewis received a full work-up at Pet Lovers for the same price as a vaccine at Burke Vet. Even though its not close to my house, I will definitely be back to Pet Lovers whenever I have an issue with Lewis, because I feel confident that Dr. Chun and his assistants can correctly diagnose and fix him right!

One day I realized that my cat, Kitty, (yes I know Im a fountain of originallity) started growing weird red rashes on his ears and neck. I let it go for a week thinking he just scratched himself too much but it got worse. I took him to Dr. Chun for a diagnostic and I was also worried about that becuase I have had bad experiences finding a good vet for a cat, believe it or not, most vets are better with dogs. However, Dr. Chun was excellent, he was able to take my cat and not provoke him (Kitty gets a bit violent when scared), in fact kitty was completely calm with him. The Doctor did the routine stuff first, checked his ears back and forth and checked his mouth and eyes. Then he gave me some possibilities of what this was, took hair samples for testing to be sure, and recommended some meds for Kitty. He told me to come back in a week and we would do another check up. I administered the meds and almost in 2 days the results were apparent, my cats ears were looking much better and he wasnt scratching as often as he used to. When we came back a week later Dr. Chun had confirmed that his suspiciouns were right and that the cat would be better with 2 more weeks of the medicine. 2 weeks later and he is definitely much better. What I really loved about this whole story though is that the Doctor knew excatly what it was before even testing his hair samples, allowing us to start the healing process a week earlier. Definitely a great vet.

Dr. Chun is kind, dedicated, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. My dogs seem comfortable and unstressed when they see Dr. Chun. This includes times when theyve had shots and one time when blood work was done. Dr. Chun is approachable and clearly enjoys helping pets and their families. I never feel like our visits or conversations are rushed when Ive sought his advice or need information. Unfortunately, we no longer live in the area and I cant find a vet like him here outside of Atlanta; especially one that can do acupuncture and also knows Chinese medicine as well as traditional vet care. I just spoke to him out of state today because Innova pet food got bought out by Proctor and Gamble and I need new pet food. Whether in person or over the phone, Dr. Chun is helpful in responding to questions. He offered a great response over the telephone with what to look for/avoid and pet food brands he likes, and I got off the phone feeling comfortable in what to buy for my pets next food. Finally, his office is bright, cheery, comfortable and clean. He also has wonderful and kind staff.

I cannot rave about this place enough. After exhaustive research (I went to about 4 different vets before I settled on Pet Lovers), I can definitively say this is THE place to go for vet care. Some reasons why - 1) I have never waited for more than 5 minutes for my appointment 2) I never feel like Im being fleeced or rushed. Dr. Chun always seems to have my pets interest at heart in terms of care and recommendation. He never prescribes me anything I dont need, even when I ask about extra shots, stomach aches, ect. 3) Inexpensive, considering the cost of shots and examination. Ive compared Pet Lovers rates to the other vets Ive gone to as well as my friends and I can honestly say that his rates are competitive. 4) Dr. Chun correctly diagnosed and treated an ear infection that my puppy had whereas the other 2 doctors I had seen prior said they either didnt see an issue. Bottom line - I know that I can always trust the staff at Pet Lovers. I couldnt recommend this place enough.

A vet visit without fear! My little dog had his first visit with Dr. Chun today, and I am so happy. More importantly, my dog is happy. Dr. Chun and his assistant had wonderful bedside manner. Instead of being frightened and growly, he was lovey with the assistant and even asked Dr. Chun to play (with a play bow) after having a swab stuck up his butt and a needle in his paw. Dr. Chun confirmed/reaffirmed the diet I feed my dog and made some suggestions for the other. He discussed the vaccinations with me, not wanting to overvaccinate, and based on lifestyle and environment together we made the decision on what he should receive. My dog didnt even react when the needles were stuck in his for his shots; with the old vet he would growl and cry out. He was so gentle with my dog and easy to talk with. When the dog likes the vet, thats a great thing. I cant wait to bring my other dog in!

I started going to Pet Lovers after the Kings Park Veterinary Hospital closed. I knew about then because of my volunteer work with 4Paws Rescue. At the time I had a 18 year old cat in failing health. Dr. Chun and his staff are so kind and efficient. They helped us through her difficult time and assisted us in finding a doctor who could help her as she neared the end. Now we have two other cats, and Dr. Chun is their regular vet. I cant say enough good things about his practice! The offices are clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, my cats are never "traumatized" by their visits - he was even able to help calm down my daughters cat by quietly leaving her in a darkened room prior to her exam (the cat, I mean!) His prices are quite reasonable and getting an appointment is very easy. I highly recommend Pet Lovers Animal Hospital!
