I have been taking my dogs to VCA in Fairfax city since I moved into the area. They are extremely thorough as well as knowledgable. Their customer service from every employee has been amazing. My dogs are usually afraid of going to the vets but these guys spoil my dogs and my dogs get excited when Im pulling into the parking lot. They genuinely love all animals and it shows! They have fit us into their hectic schedules when they were to busy to take on anymore customers. Today Dr. Newhart stayed beyond his shift to make sure that my dog was able to be seen and treated. Youve got to appreciate a vet that is willing to put their own personal lives on hold, to help out in your pets time of need. The prices there are average but everything else is way beyond average. If youre searching for a reputable Vet for your pets, then this should be your first and last choice. A+

Upon a first impression, the building is old and musty. The techs and reception staff were polite and helpful though. I took my dog in for a very minor procedure and the bill ended up being over $100. The office visit fees are lower than other vets in the area though, around $50. The vets appeared knowledgeable enough but I think Ill probably keep looking for a more permanent vet. My dog was pretty visibly stressed out by the visit, especially when they tied him to some hooks on the table and hoisted it in the air.

Dr. Hunter is the best! Ive been taking my dogs to him for almost 20 years .(yikes! - time flies!) He has patience and understanding, especially with my current dog who has "issues" since being hit by a car when he was just 1. Dr. Hunters calm personality helps us get through our appointments with little to no anxiety. I highly recommend VCA Commonwealth Animal Hospital.

Dr. Hunter is the best Vet in the entire region. I been taking my canine kids (over 9 dogs now) and cat for almost 3 decades to him. He has the experience, kindness to his patients and consideration to their parents. I recommend him to anyone who needs the best care for their pooch at a reasonable price. I just got a 14 week old Labradoodle, Black & White, male called Gizmo... I went to VCA Commonwealth Animal Hospital on recommendation of a neighbor. They are one of the best vets offices Ive ever experienced. I used to raise Great Danes and Bullmastiffs, so Ive been in a lot of vets offices... VCA Commonwealth A.H. it Tops!

Ive been bringing my Brittany, Max, here for a few years and Ive never had a bad experience! The staff at the front desk is always friendly and the doctors are great! The bonus is that they also board so its nice to know that Max will be in safe hands when I need to leave him for a few days. Thanks, VCA Commonwealth!

I have been going to this practice for many years... I find the vets to be knowledgable, caring & gentle, The fees are very reasonable..and they dont pressure you to have procedures & tests that your pets probably dont need..I find them to be understanding & reasonable. I wouldnt go any where else!

The group of people who work here are amazing. I have a dog who isnt dog friendly and they were pros when it came to handling him. I would highly recommend boarding with them and making them your primary vet.
