Horrible! My 2 boys have been there twice now and both times it was HORRIBLE! The first time was for cleanings and they said they were running an HOUR BEHIND. What?!?! My time is valuable just like theirs is. The second time was for cavity fillings. My youngest son obviously wasnt numb enough because he started screaming as soon as the dentist stuck him with the needle (which my son didnt see thankfully). The dentist didnt stop and try to use more topical gel to numb it more numb... he just kept on sticking him over and over. My son got very upset and was crying and the dentist walked out (without saying anything) for at least 10 minutes and then came back in and said that because my son was crying he would not do the fillings. So he gave us a referral to somebody else who could "better handle him" (as if it was my sons fault for crying). Annoyed with situation I told the dentist that my son is only crying because hes scared and you hurt him. The dentist replied (with a TON of attitude) "Would you rather me do sub-par work on him?" NO! I will GLADLY take that referral to somebody else who you feel is more qualified than yourself to handle kids! ...AND what makes you think that I am ever coming back here if there is somebody else out there who is better than you and what you have to offer?!?!?!!! Meanwhile, my other son is doing great getting his fillings. After I get done dealing with "Mr. I hate my job" dentist I grab my youngest son (who is still crying) and start walking towards my oldest son so that we can be there with him while they finish up his fillings. As we are walking the hygienist from my youngest son says that I can not bring him into the room with my oldest son...that he would have to wait in the hallway. WHAT?!?! So my 5 y/o son who has been hooked up to laughing gas and now has half his mouth numb has to WAIT BY HIMSELF or my oldest son has to finish having fillings done without me there. UNACCAPTABLE! WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!!!

I took my son here a year ago when he was 5 for a checkup. We had tried other dentists and he was always very afraid. I thought Kool Smiles would be different since they are specifically for children, but wow, was I wrong! Our first visit was fine, the hygienist was nice and he liked her and let her clean his teeth. But they found some cavities and so we scheduled an appointment to fill them. We waited a very long time before we were called back and when we were the dentist was very cold and uncaring. I warned everyone that my son was afraid, but the dentist didnt care. He was unsympathetic and just wanted to hurry through the job. My son was good for a long time, he opened his mouth and held it open while the dentist poked and prodded at him and even when he jabbed him with the needle to numb him. But my son had never been numbed before and when he couldnt feel his mouth anymore he was scared. He started crying, I wanted to stop for a moment so I could explain to my son what was happening and that it was all ok. But the dentist refused to continue at all! He said my son was just too scared we were going to have to take him somewhere else to be sedated. I took my son to a different dentist, not the one this guy suggested, and not only were they incredibly nice and comforting to my son they also took x-rays of his teeth with none of the pain and drama that Kool Smiles caused and they didnt find any cavities! So this means one of three things! Either the dentist at Kool Smiles are incompetent and misread the x-rays they took and was trying to fix a cavity that wasnt there, They are incompetent and mixed up my sons x-rays with another child, or they are crooks that were trying to milk more money out of me or my insurance by "fixing" cavities that were never there! Needless to say I will never take my son back to Kool Smiles again!

My son went in on Monday to have a cleaning, they did xrays because he had some cavities. They informed me that he would do well under laughing gas and that they could see us for the repairs at 4:00, it was 3:30. They sent us back out into the waiting room. At 5:00 we finally got called just for them to tell us the dentist would not be seeing him because she does not like doing procedures this late in the day. You couldnt tell me that at 3:30? We rescheduled for the next morning at 10:00. Finally got called back at 11:00. They administered the gas, and the nurse was very nice however when the dentist came in, she immediately was nasty with the nurse. She had no idea what she was even suppose to be doing before entering this room, I overheard her tell the nurse she couldnt think straight she just had so much going on. She asked the nurse to mix the "cement" for the cap. Apparently the assistant is newer and was uncertain of how to mix, and wanted a little guidance so she did not mess it up. The dentist was nasty to her right in front of my son and I, she raised her voice and said " I do not have time to train you right now". Shortly after that they started on my son, half way through he got anxious and the sound of the drill upset him. He was hysterical, she basically yelled at MY son, saying HEY HEY HEY why are you crying . My son is 3!! What do you mean why is he crying, for one this is a scary situation, and you are not helping! She completed 1 tooth, we will be going elsewhere that does sedation for the other 3! and will NEVER return to Kool Smiles. Enjoyable dental experience for the whole family, hahah this slogan should not be used at all! All the dentists here care about is getting you in and out as fast as possible! I recommend you look into taking your little ones to a private practice!

Just left this office very angry, frustrated and tears. Whilst my kids had fun and the staff were good with them, the whole process took over 2 hours. My son has a growth hormone deficiency, which was mentioned before he went back, which causes, amongst other things, soft teeth. He had a huge number of fillings needing to be done, along with 2 crowns and the dentist, who was aware of the growth hormone issue, insisted it was because I give him too much refined sugar, which I absolutely do not. My childs BMI puts him into the medically underweight category, which just doesnt gel with a child who is getting too much sugar. I again asked if the low growth hormone could be the culprit and was told no. It is a dentists job to know what medical conditions can cause tooth issues and he clearly did not. Instead, I was berated and made to feel lower than lousy over something that I did not even do. I am well aware of what goes in my childs mouth and a "high sugar diet" is not it. Very upset and unimpressed and will be going elsewhere, after dropping off the scholarly articles on growth hormone and cavities to the dentist who saw my son. Perhaps he will learn something for the next patient that comes along. **EDIT** We have since had a second opinion. Our son that apparently needed crowns and fillings in every tooth, does not need ANY work done. He does have some cavities, as we would expect but they are not recommending filling them at this point. Very glad now that the dentist was a jerk because otherwise I may have believed him and had a lot of unnecessary work done
