Dr Rickard and her staff are outstanding. We live in Hagerstown, MD but our breeder, Debi Durst, recommended it was worth the trip for our 3 Miniature Schnauzers to go there after we had a bad vet experience in our area. We would not go anywhere else because of our great experiences with them. Rosie would have died several years ago had it not been for Dr Rickards knowledge and expertise. All 3 of our dogs fight to see who can get in their door first. How often do you see dogs that love to go to the vet? All the staff are friendly, caring and love animals. Dr Rickard gives them Cheese Wiz when they are getting shots so, according to Dr Rickard, they have a positive experience and arent afraid to come to her office. The doctors do not hesitate to consult with other specialists or experts, and they have even called the vets at dog food companies to verify best type of food for Rosies medical issues. I cant say enough good things about them. Thanks to all the staff.

We drive a good distance to North Oatlands. We have tried many local vets. misdiagnosed each time. We were told locally our German Shepherd was allergic to his food. We were told we needed to put him on their food. Our boy also kept pawing at his ears. Again, we were told, food allergy. after the 3rd visit for the same problem, we went to North Oatlands Animal Hospital. Our Shepherd did not have food allergies. He has allergies to dust. He also had a severe ear infection. By the way, North Oatlands got it right the first time. They are pricey and sometimes you will wait a bit. Combining the vet bills from our local vets totaled more than North Oatlands single visit. They will also break up the core puppy shots for small dogs who cannot handle the 3 all at one time. I recommend them highly to pet owners.

Dr. Rickard has been my vet over 10 years. In my opinion she is by far the best vet Ive ever had. She truly loves animals and loves my dogs almost as much as I do. Dr.Rickard will do anything and everything in her powers to do what ever it takes to heal your animal. I have a German Shepherd that is 12 1/2 years old because of Dr. Rickard. My Sheeba when she was 9 had a rare cancer growth not hereditary. She called in a specialist into her clinic they did Surgury on her and thank God a clear margin. Dr. Rickard continued treatment on her and I thank her because almost 4 years later I still have my Sheeba!

I would give I went to them NO stars if I could. I went to them because I had heard they specialized in my dogs breed. They gave her the Bordetella shot too early, which caused a respiratory infection and a $400 emergency vet bill. When I called just to cancel the rest of my appointments. Instead of just canceling them, the doctor got on the phone and berated me telling me they did nothing wrong. This is after she denied giving my dog the vaccine and I had to remind her I was IN THE ROOM!

Weve used North Oatlands, and their sister clinic in Dominion Valley, for years for our cats and dogs. Theyve gotten us through our animals various health emergencies and chronic conditions with compassion and patience. Weve used them for all care, from dentals to yearly exams, and wouldnt go anywhere else. Two of our dogs are very nervous, especially after some bad experiences at our previous vet. They are treated in the most caring and understanding way by all staff at either clinic.

I recently used North Oatlands AH for reproductive services with my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Terra. Each visit, Terra was enthusiastically greeted by the awesome receptionist and was promptly fed treats. All visits were extremely pleasant and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Dr. Wallace was very easy to work with and explained her plans for my girls breeding very well.

Fantastic Vets and staff. Very caring and compassionate. They have always been able to get me in quickly and have the one on one relationship that is so often lost in the large clinics. I have used their reproduction services and the equipment is state of the art! The follow up after treatment is second to none. I highly recommend them!

I cannot say enough about Dr. Ricard at North Oatlands Animal Hospital! She was so welcoming and patiently answered all my questions. Ive had show dogs for many years and many veterinarians, but none as detail oriented and caring as her. She has definitely gained a loyal client!

I would give them ZERO stars if possible. They charged my credit card despite my explicit order telling them not to then the receptionist told me the charge had been reversed (it was not) so I am now working with my credit card company to rectify the situation.
