I took both my cats here for about 5 years and loved the personal service (just one doctor and friendly staff). He has been in the business a long time and knows the basics, so this is a great place for routine visits. However, when one of my cats experienced a urinary blockage, he refused to treat without a urine sample (which was basically impossible to get--another vet game me medicine and then allowed me to bring the urine sample). Second strike was when he diagnosed a cyst on my cats head as benign after looking at its contents under a microscope and recommended not removing it. 2 years later, it had inflated and had to be removed, when I was then told it was cancerous and had grown into the cats muscle by that point. I also just dont think he is up to date on modern and innovative treatments and nutrition. The SPCA offered all kinds of treatment for my cats herpes-respiratory condition, whereas he had told me there wasnt really anything he could do. He also recommended Science Diet for both my cats, which is trash food. So if you need some shots and a routine exam, go for it, but if you are looking for long term care or have an animal with special needs, I would look elsewhere.

We took our dogs to this vet. The initial visit was fine, but pricey compared to our last vet. Our dogs had an ear infection so the vet requested that we bring them back for a check after their treatment was finished. When we did, we were charged $100 so the vet could just look in their ears! On top of that, the vet refused to allow us to order from 1-800-PetMeds through their office. The staff was rude when I asked for our prescription. Instead, they charged us an extra $8 for a paper copy of the presciption and forced us to send it in to the pharmacy ourselves. This was clearly a ploy to make it as incovenient as possible for us to buy from an outside pharmacy instead of through the vet. Needless to say, we wont be going back.

The staff at the front desk are very rude and unpleasant. Dr. West likes to charge for things my pet didnt need and didnt ask me if it was alright or if I wanted that service. His assistant is very rude and condescendingly yelled at us for using potty pads to train our puppy. Then went even further tried to train our new puppy in front of us when we hadnt even had the chance to yet. That was appalling. Honestly she is just annoying as can be with her good sit line. Every time I went there I just wanted to cancel and go to a better vet office that is friendly kind and honest. I finally have and it was the best decision we have made for our pet thus far. Dont order fecal analysis because they forget to give you cups.

Ive moved several times in the past 5 years, so Ive had an opportunity to take my pet to several different veterinarians. Although all of the vets my cat has seen have had good points, Dr. West goes well above and beyond the call of duty to make sure she is comfortable and well cared for. The level of personal service we receive there is remarkable, and the staff is always friendly. The decor is out-dated and in need of a make-over, but what Wests lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for with personalized care and attentiveness. If youre looking for a vet clinic that will care as much about your pet as you do, this is the hospital you want to go to.

I dont know about their ability to care for animals, but outside their clinic there is a USPS post box that I tried to drop my mail off into and instead, found a wasp nest hidden near the opening and I got stung. Im 21 and before today, I have never been stung by a bee, wasp, or hornet so I was worried I was allergic. I went into the clinic to get help and they gave me an ice pack for free. That at least should be able to say that they do care about people who come into their clinic. I am extremely thankful for their generosity and kindness.

I just wanted to thank you and your staff for taking care of my animals for the past 25 years. I would never even think of taking my animals to any other person. I trust Dr. Wests opinion 100% and have let him make several hard decisions in the past with my senior animals in their time of need. I have always told any and everyone that when it comes to my pets he has and always will have the final say, he has their best interest at heart always. Staff discriminates against certain breeds. Office adds 20.00 to each heartworm preventative compared to prices at other local vet offices. Will charge you a 10.00 fee to write a prescription so you can get it cheaper elsewhere. And if your dog is over 100 lbs you will be charges 10.00 for each dose... so 20.00 total. Will never take my animals back to this vets office. Found a much better office just down the street.

Dr. West is very personable towards humans and pets. He treated my dog like I do-mans best friend. It was nice to finally have a Doctor that didnt treat my dog just as an animal, but recognized his importance to me. His staff is also very nice and super helpful. I would have given 5 stars, but it was alittle pricey. Although I think all vets are going up these days.

Competent, compassionate and caring is how I would describe Paul West and his staff. In 25 years, 4 dogs, they have helped us through the joys and sadness of pet ownership as I pick up the ashes of our Lilli, 13 years of joy and support. Our rescue puppy is now one year and the cycle continues.
