then go here! This place overcharges for everything! I have never had to pay more than $15 to get my dogs toenails trimmed, and this place charged me $30. Every time I go here for basic care for my dog, such as vaccinations, they try to guilt me into getting all these extras that really arent necessary and then put me on yet another guilt trip because I dont have $550 to drop on a tooth cleaning for my dog. I took him in to get 1 vaccination required for boarding and wound up walking out with a $230 bill. Every time I speak to them on the phone they speak to me as if speaking to a small child who understands only a few words of English, and then I got lectured from the obese veterinarian about how my dog was slightly overweight. I also got lectured about how I really should trim his toenails myself and was shown how to do it...there is a reason I take him to get that done...I dont feel comfortable doing it myself. I understand that it is a business out to make money, but in my experience, most vets understand when you cant afford to pay ridiculous amounts of money for an animal, especially in the current economy and the Christmas season. I will not be going back there.

I love coming to this vet clinic. I drive 30 min and pay a toll just to bring my dog to Dr. Hubbard and her staff. Her and her staff are very caring, friendly, and compassionate. If I ever have a scare with my dog they have always found a way to squeeze him in to be seen. Honestly, my dog even feels safe enough with Dr. Hubbard that he falls asleep on the table after she evaluated him and lets me know what she notices and ways I can help my dog. The whole staff is friendly and caring towards my dog. The staff even takes the time to call me several days after a sick visit to ask how my dog is doing and if he has improved. I love this clinic and will continue to bring my 4 legged baby to see them and make sure he lives a long and happy life with great veterinary care.

I have been using this vet for about 3 years now for both of my dogs. My older dog Daisy has severe seperation anxiety and the staff has always seemed very concerned about making her comfortable. We recently got a puppy and she has received exceptional care at this office. She was very sick when we brought her home from the breeder and the doctors and staff here helped her get better. I was at the vet every week with her and they were always concerned. Not to mention they call me after every appointment to make sure my dogs are doing great. These ladies are awesome. Every vet is pricey but unless you go to a "low cost clinic" you are going to pay big vet prices. Its worth every penny spent at VCA to make sure my girls are happy and healthy. Thank You VCA!

My fiance and I have boarded our weim/lab mix, Millie, twice now at this location and received the best service and care for our fur baby. This second time was exceptional! We chose to have our dogs nails clipped while we were away, and once home, we realized Millie also received a quick groom which is really helping keep her cool these summer days. Furthermore, some sweet staff member stitched up one of Millies toys that had ripped during her stay. Weve had great experiences in boarding, grooming, and getting our heartworm meds at VCA in Portsmouth.

I wouldnt go back. I have tried different vets for my dogs and usually theres only one thing i dont like but this place, i didnt like anything about it! first of all, i waited forever! i lost track of time but it was about an hour just to get into the room. The prices were over the top, which i expected, but what made me never want to go back was how RUDE THE DOCTOR was and so pushy. I couldnt believe it how i was being talked to and they acted like i was stupid. and they keep sending me reminders, its so annoying.

This place is rated poor at best. If I could give it no stars for a rating I would. They use to be good at service and care. Now that they care for the city of police k-9, they have no concern or personal relations. Not to mention my human companion was miss diagnosed and his medications were prescribed wrong causing serious complications.dont trust this establishment. They over charge, and there only concern is getting your money and not caring for you pet correctly.

We found this vet last minute and they took us right away. Everyone here was super kind to us and our sick pup. They took great care of him and were still very thourough, listening to his symptoms and checking everything, even though he pretended to be fine when we got there.

Today was one of the most painful days in my life. VAC showed compassion and care that was beyond belief. They made losing a part of my family hurt just a little less painful. If I ever have another pet, I will make this their medical care provider.

The overall veterinary visit was good.. however when it came down to changing vets they took forever to fax the information when I requested 3 days in advance. They refused to write down the fax number and still got it wrong.
