I have been bringing my dog to Brambleton Veterinary Hospital since she was a puppy. For 13 years they have treated us great and have taken excellent care of my dog. She suffered a terrible break to her leg, which was fixed by Dr. Jennings and her team about 7 years ago. Although it was very expensive, and they charged us for a cast that was removed before we even saw it (the cast was an attempt to avoid surgery), we were pleased with the quality of treatment for our dog and we paid the bill. Although we used to love brambleton vet, lately they have been below par. Ever since the cast incident, they have just turned into a money making machine. It used to cost 15-20$ to groom my dog here, now its like 25-30$ and boarding an animal here is now out of the question. We boarded my dog here for two days, and came home to a 300$ bill. They did an ear exam and treated her for something that we didnt ask them to treat her for and charged just to give her special dog food (she has to have science diet b/c of skin issues) even though we supplied the food. All in all, this used to be a nice, small, close to home vet that gave you peace of mind. Now they are just money hungry and i feel like they dont care about the well being of the animals as long as they get their payment. Not to mention all the horrific stories Ive heard about this place.. eek! Im done with Brambleton! I called veterinarians to cats to get my cat taken care of, and she has an appointment tomorrow. Although I havent been yet, the lady on the phone was very knowledgable and nice (btw the lady on the phone at brambleton is usually a terribly rude b**ch)! Im looking forward to my visit!

I just wanted to add to the other people here who have posted wonderful things about Brambleton Vet (and to continue to detract from the negative statements made by obviously grumpy people). We were taking our French Bulldog to a different (and much more expensive vet in town) when a friend suggested that I get a second opinion from Brambleton Vet. We took our dog there and Dr. Jennings was very helpful and knowledgeable about French Bulldogs and bully breeds in general. She has Boxers herself, and I felt completely comfortable with her judgment and recommendations. I have worked at a vet in the past and I was appreciative of her honesty and her very helpful staff. We were seen immediately (no long wait) and after discussing the options with Dr. Jennings elected to have our dogs surgery there a few days later. He had three questionable lumps removed, and Dr. Jennings was very thorough when she let me know about our options for biopsy and follow up, as well. Furthermore, the surgery ended up being more difficult than we originally intended, yet the cost of the surgery did not go up astronomically. I had asked for an estimate up front and Dr. Jennings was within $25 of her original estimate. All together the surgery still cost significantly less than what had been estimated at the other vet in town and I felt that Dr. Jennings took a keen interest in my dog and was thoroughly knowledgeable in bulldog breeds and the inherent problems that go along with them. I would recommend Brambleton Vet to anyone who asked (and have already referred a family member there as well).

Update: I will be filing a civil suit against these people, and I suggest anyone else who had a similar experience do that same. It is $58.00 (the cost of the warrant and getting them served) well spent! Original post: I would suggest staying well away from this practice. My senior, arthritic cat was injured when the vet treating him (Dr. Sisk) had to attempt a blood draw 4 times before he got the sample. This clinic uses the jugular draw method in which the kitty is restrained by the neck AND the front legs, but they do it incorrectly and, after 4-5 minutes of my cat being restrained in this manner, he ended up with an injury to his right elbow. In addition, the vet gave him two vaccines in the elbow joint, adding insult to injury. $350 later and my cat is limping, injured, developed a bacterial infection as a result of no alcohol cleansing prior to injections/blood draws AND I had to get a 2nd opinion. Hes now at a REPUTABLE practice (Vets To Cats) and it will cost me several hundred more to correct what this vet did. My cat is 14 and, on a new patient visit, they didnt even examine his eyes, his joints, or his ears?? So, the arthritis and cataract diagnoses found by Vets To Cats werent even mentioned at this vet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE!!! At least, not if you value their lives....a vet who charges $120.00 for a follow-up to check an injury he caused should have no vet license!

I have taken my dog here for a long time now, but just in the past few years have they really been slacking in everything they do. Mostly on how they take care of my dog! The second to last time I took him to get groomed he looked great and I didnt realize until I got home that he had a pretty big size cut on him. It looked like when they were shaving him that they cut over his wart he had and I was shocked no one noticed at all or even said anything to me about it. I called and told them about it and they didnt really seem to concern. Well then about a year later after that incident I took him again to get groomed and they called me telling me that they thought they "accidentally" cut open a cyst so they wanted to know if I wanted to just leave it alone or have them finish cutting it off and stitch it up....it would cost me $100...I was furious! Why should I have to pay for something that you messed up on my dog! so this $50 groom would end up costing me $150! When I went and picked him up it not only cost me more, it cost me $200! I dont understand why from the phone to the car ride over it went up $50 more! This place is a complete joke, and unless you want to have your animals scarred, take them someplace else! They also never apologized for anything at all...will NEVER go here again!!!

The staff is professional and wonderful. Dr. Jennings and Dr. Henson are willing to go above and beyond for thier clients, including consulting other professionals. They are not afraid to say, "i dont know but i will find out". They were willing to work with me on payments for my pets care. Their compassion is amazing...they even took the extra time to stay with my pet because he was at the end of his life and we didnt know if we would make it in time...they stayed with him so he wouldnt die alone. Occasionally, its a roll of dice on the receptionist staff...we have had a few who were not very friendly...but the technicians are top rate.

They should be closed. Took care of my Lab for 8 years; then she had a cyst on her leg. Dr. Jennings told me her leg needed to be amputated! I was devastated and a friend insisted I go her vet for a second opinion before the surgery. Im so glad I did; my baby was instead treated with laser therapy and medication. She is now 13 and still happily running around! In a more minor incident, I had previously taken her to get groomed and she came out covered in layers of dead hair. I complained and they told me it was my fault because I didnt brush her before I brought her in!
