Stopped going here for several reasons. One being that my french bulldog needed an X-ray and the doctor said that he had to be knocked out under general anesthesia. I asked why when it was only a couple minutes of snapping pictures, and hes small and quiet mannered. He insisted it was necessary and told me to come back in 4 HOURS! I asked how long the X-rays would take and he said 10 minutes, but theres a long line ahead of him. My dog meanwhile was shaking so bad as he hates the vet. I asked if I could please stay wth him until his X-ray and he said no. As if seeing the look on his face when they took him away wasnt bad enough, he had a terrible reaction to the anesthesia (vomiting) when I picked him up hours later. Not to mention, putting frenchies down is always risky and should only be done when TOTALLY necessary! Secondly, the tech that handled him was really awkward and did not seen comfortable with animals. Thirdly, the doctor didnt find anything in the X-rays (never went over the pics with me) and suggested acupuncture. He said he would come to my house to do it. I called several times to make the appt, and he was never available to take to the call. He never called me back like they said he would to schedule. Needless to say they never called me back period to check on how my injured dog was doing. Fourthly, the doc always seemed like he was in a rush and didnt have time for me. Lastly, the facility is really shotty and beat down inside. Switching to Charleston Harbor Vets such a change for the better, for SO many reasons. The first time I went, I didnt even wait to go into an office, talk to a tech, wait for the vet. The vet met us in the waiting area and got down on the floor to greet Winston and get him comfy. After every appt, they text me the morning after to ask specific questions about him and how hes doing (not an automatic message). Everytime I call, I can talk to the vet herself whenever. Unlike most vets, she doesnt just say "just bring him in," she talks out the problem with me. Even more amazing, when I called after hours on a Friday and left a message, the vet texted me that evening to talk about the problem. My dog again needed an X-ray for a different manner, and I called at about 1 pm. She told me to bring him in and they could do it right then. I asked if he needed to be sedated or go under and she seemed confused and said that was definitely not necessary. We were in and out of there so quickly - the X-rays took just a couple minutes. The vet took the time to go over the pics with me(not just briefly tell me what she saw like the other) and compare his to other pictures in her medical book. Anyway, all good with going to all creatures-no thanks.

Will not take my dog back here again. If living downtown, its worth the drive elsewhere! I am shocked at how well rated they are. I made the appointment over the phone to have my 6 yr old Lab mix receive her annual rabies shot and to have a general check up. When my boyfriend and I got there, the lady at the front desk could not figure out if she needed her shots or not. She kept saying that she just had them in Dec 2015, when it was 2014. She argued with the tech over it for 15 minutes, and asked us 3 times. I told her over the phone thats what she was coming in for today. She said the visit would be about $100 for the shots and check-up. I said that was fine. We went back into the exam room, which was dingy looking, with several open paint cans underneath the desk. Dr. Berger came in, looked in Ellies ears, checked her hips and looked through her fur. Said she looked fine. We told her that she sneezes frequently through-out the day and has been doing so since we got her over a year ago. He ended up having her vaccinated for kennel cough, which she did not need. He left the room, we waited about 15 minutes, he came back in and said we were good to go, and we said that she hadnt even received her shots yet... A few minutes later, two techs come into the room and proceed to give her 2 shots, a nose spray, draw blood, and get a stool sample. They did not say what they were doing or what they were giving her. They came in, did the work, and left. When we went to check out, it came out to be $230. They gave a receipt of what shots they had given her, and there were many that we had not discussed and things that she did not need. They said they would set up a prescription for a heart-worm preventative when the tests results came back, which they said they would call the next morning to inform me. They never called. I called them 3 days later to ask what the results were, they said she was negative, and that was it. No information about a prescription. Moral of the story: I would not recommend taking your beloved pet here. They need to figure out what is going on; everyone just seemed confused. And the facilities are not very nice. I was very upset at how everything went. We will not be back.

Dr. Berger and his staff are SO amazing. My kitty had been sick on and off for a few weeks and his (old) vet didnt seem to know or care what was going on and wasnt doing much to help him. He took a turn for the worst on a Saturday when most vet clinic were closed. I called All Creatures because they were open and explained what was going on. Even though it was 15 min before they closed they told me to bring him in. As soon as I got there it was so clear how much everyone there cared as soon as I walked in the front door. And when your animal is sick that is exactly what you want and need. Dr. Berger checked him out and gave me answers AND a reasonable plan of action at a great price. Not only that, but he went above and beyond by giving me his personal cell to give him updates on Mowgli over the holiday weekend so that he could make sure he was ok while there office was closed. Mowgli stared feeling better within two days and its such a blessing I found All Creatures. Im a life long client. I rode and owned horses for 15 years and finding a team that genuinely cares about your animal as much as you do is unfortunately so rare. They deserve a medal and I can not thank them enough for saving my kitty!!!

Dr. Berger (or Doug, as I call the Man Who Tamed My Wildcat), is completely wonderful and insightful as a vet and a person. For me, finding a new vet for my three cats involves more research and interviewing than finding the right employee. Anyone who will be in contact with my angels when theyre vulnerable must be fantastic. Doug is able to establish immediate connections with even the most difficult animals, and he brings to every situation instinct, intelligence, and a sense of humor. He has helped me endlessly with my now-17 year old Rita and the avalanche of medical issues shes had over the years. All the staff at All Creatures are kind and very tolerant of my overprotective nature. I have always felt safe to have them in my corner. Worth mentioning is Dougs holistic healing options. While it was never used on my cats, his acupuncture work, from what Ive been told, is outstanding. It wouldnt surprise me for a second. The whole clinic is lovely and Doug is a genius.
