I took 2 dogs to Southern Hills and was the only customer in the building at the time. Despite not having any other business, the two basic check-ups took 1 hour and 45 minutes. The staff was disorganized from the minute I walked in the door. The "vet tech" was not knowledgeable, in fact, I have my doubts that she was in fact a vet tech. The veterinarian spent a total of 6 minutes in the room with us out of the nearly 2 hours we were there. They were sneaky about their fees, and completely overcharged for what measly service they did provide. I felt like I was at a used car lot the entire time I was there. I felt that their primary concern was to sell me services, not to make sure my pets were safe and healthy. The business is managed very poorly. My mom has been taking her dog there for years because they board; however, she says she can never figure out how they charge because it is different every time. She also says whenever she goes to pick up her dog, a surly teenager saunters out of the back room to "help" her. She typically has to wait 30 minutes to retrieve her dog following a vacation. We will never take pets there again and are encouraging other customers to switch to a vet who cares.

Dr. Mary and Dr. Preston, we wanted to thank you for being such trusted providers. Secondly, we cannot say enough about your techs and support staff. They make us feel like a priority and always answer our questions professionally and compassionately, when we understand how busy the hospital gets. Thank you Dr. Mary, Ms. Anna and Ms. Heidi for your love and help today with Mr. Lewis. I know we all made the right decision. You all have such big hearts. We think it is important to convey how much we appreciate the time, attention and compassion you give to us and our full animal house. Thank you for making Lewis transition something I will always remember as peaceful and full of love.

Recently, our small kitten became lethargic and we thought we would lose him. I was very frantic that night and searched animal hospitals in the Roanoke area. We randomly picked Southern Hills to call, and I am so glad that we did. The people were so caring on the phone and did everything they could to help me. They offered a potential cause for his behavior and although we could not make it to their office before they closed, they recommended another 24-hour hospital to visit. We have not previously used Southern Hills, but I would recommend their services solely based on how obviously passionate the employees are about their work. Way to go Southern Hills!

This is the best animal clinic in town. I was so impressed with the compassion Dr. Brad Everson has with the animals as well as the family or owners of the animal. The compassion of the whole staff at this clinic is amazing and I know when I leave my pet there that they treat them with love and respect like I do and they do everything they can to make them comfortable and happy. Dr Brad is an intelligent and gifted man and he truly loves the animals. There is no place else for my pets and no group of people better to help them!

I have been taking my animals to Southern Hills for at least 20 years and I wouldnt dream of taking them anywhere else. Dr. Mary and Dr. Preston are top notch! The staff has changed over the years but the wonderful care has remained consistent. They have always gone above and beyond to care for my pets. I also love the fact that someone is there 24 hours a day so I dont worry at all when I board my pets while Im away. Cant say enough about this place so one word sums it up - EXCELLENCE!

I have been taking my dog here for years. My favorite vet there is Dr Brad. He spends extra time with the clients to address their concerns. When he leaves the room I feel confident that my dog is getting the best treatment. The vet has recently remodeled and I have not been there since they did that. The clinic takes walk ins except on Saturdays.

We really appreciate all the patient help from the staff everyone was wonderful. Very helpful from the financial point to the actual diagnosis everything explained. You all helped find a way for this to be possible, without you all we wouldnt have been able to figure out what was going on. Thank you all.

Showed up with a sick dog and was turned away over 15$ ....my dog died the next week..RIP GATOR.......NO COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS PPL...ITS ALL ABOUT $$$...Folks take ya animals were a few $$ doesnt decide their fate....

I really appreciate the follow up calls after appointments or hospital stays - they help us stay up to date & connected with his care. The benches in the treatment rooms are a little high to be comfortable.

Worst my baby was sick when she came in and 2 weeks and $631.00 later she is still sick...now they cant get her back in to see Dr unless I pay for another emergency visit...no love for my sick doggy.
