I bought a Groupon here earlier this year, and it was the best decision of my life. The people at Liberty Laser were very attentive and thorough throughout the entire process. My mom was even able to watch the proceedure looking through an observation window! I was especially impressed by how Dr. Tanchel handled the proceedure itself. I had not been nervous about the proceedure for the entire time leading up to it, however, just as I sat down in the chair and saw the machines, I became very nervous. Thankfully, Dr. Tanchel talked soothingly throughout for the entire duration of the proceedure, explaining what she was doing, giving direction when necessary, and assuring me that I was doing well and everything was working perfectly. I was so thankful for her constant reassurance through the process. I am very particular about my vision, and for the month or so after the proceedure, I was constantly reevaluating my "new" vision and how it compared to my "old" vision with glasses. Sometimes, I thought my vision was inconsistent and I found it annoying at times and absolutely distressing at others. But she assured me that that was normal, explained that much of that was due to dryness and the general healing process, and sure enough, my vision is stable and absolutely wonderful all the time (except when my eyes are dry at the beginning and end of day, but thats how our eyes normally are). I have not experienced any excessive dryness or any other problems. I can hardly believe that I ever wore glasses. It has been incredibly liberating to not have to wear glasses (because I hated wearing contacts, so those werent an option), and Ive found that I actually dont miss wearing glasses like I thought I might. When I do want to wear glasses, I have a cute pair with simple glass lenses. I get the best of both worlds!!

I tried so many eye centers that offered LASIK and was denied due to having thin corneas. I finally heard about Liberty Laser Eye Center from a coworker. Dr. Tanchel performed Z-LASIK on my eyes. It took less than 30 minutes and the next day I had a pair of new eyes. It is by far the best eye center and one of a kind. I then recommended Dr. Tanchel to two other friends of mine who did their LASIK at this center. If you have thin corneas like I do then Dr. Tanchel is the best and only choice you have got.

Dr. Tanchel was the only doc in the area who had the equipment to get my eyesight to 20/40 and I started at -13. I chose the 20/40 option so I wouldnt need reading glasses. I had the surgery in 2005 and Im still 20/40. At 54, Im the only person at the dinner table with friends who doesnt need reading glasses. One of the best decisions I ever made! And the entire staff is wonderful!
