The veterinarian seems very good with patients, unfortunately the clinic as a whole is mediocre in my experience. I prefer reasonable, warm interactions, and good service. I have not received that the last few times I have been in: I do my own shots (those not required by a vet), because I have done hundreds of them when I was a vet-tech, but I received frown when I mentioned that. .... I also shop online for heart worm pills (which need a veterinarians prescription). When I asked for one, they were loathe to write it but offered to sell me some and to match the online price. When I showed the online price to them, the man grumbled about it, but he did keep his word. Afterwards, he said he couldnt do it again. Fair enough, but it wasnt a very warm experience. In May I bought two shots to vaccinate against Lyme disease. My dog received one right away. I was supposed to bring him for the second one a few weeks later. I didnt come back for the second (booster) shot for several months. When I did go back 4 months later, they would not give my dog the shot. There was no danger for the dog to receive the second shot. Indeed, his immunity would be improved by it, but the immune response might be less intense in comparison to dogs having two shots a few weeks apart. Fair enough. I agreed to this idea and suggested that they give my dog the already purchased shot, and then I would come back in a few weeks, at the prescribed time, for the booster (an additional shot that I would pay for). For some unknown reason they would not immediately agree to that. I then suggested that they could refund the cost of the shot that I had already paid for that was not received. It made no great difference to me, as long as we either got our money back or received what we purchased. I got neither. They would not agree to either action without the OK from the business manager. So I waited for the business manager for a long time. "He was busy on the phone." Fair enough. I left my number, at their request, so they could resolve everything. It has been several hours and I have received no return call. I was cheerful and polite throughout all of this. Once this is all worked out, I am going to find another vet. I do not like the overall treatment at this clinic. Above all, I do not like paying for services or merchandise (a $25 shot), not receiving them, nor getting a refund. (Update:I received a call today from the business manager. He refused to refund for the shot purchased that was not received. He refused all avenues to give credit for the funds I paid (for two shots) above and beyond the services I received (1 shot). So in conclusion, I was talked into getting two Lyme shots & I received only one. I had to forfeit the second shot because " I had waited to long" , while having never been told that forfeiture would occur, nor seeing it in writing when I made the purchase. If I had known they would do this I would have purchased nothing. I will certainly not go back to them again, nor would I recommend them to a friend. ...Since this episode I have discovered that several of my friends have given up on them for similar reasons.....That said some people love them, but these are my experiences. Good luck.

I brought my dog here for a cleaning(teeth) and to check a baby tooth that had not come out. They told me that I would have to expect to leave her there the entire day 8-4pm. Long story short, they ignored the tooth and told me she didnt need a cleaning and charged me for boarding since I couldnt get there before 3pm. I then looked at the tooth when i got home, they told me that it would fall out by itself, and when I wiggled her tooth and there was clearly puss around it. I called and asked them about this and they said it would fall out on its own. Not feeling really right about this, the tooth was red and swollen and looked horrible, I went to the vet I normally do(she was on sick leave for 2 months) and asked her what I should do. She was shocked and amazed that these people call themselves vets. I have to immed book her an appointment for an extraction. She had an abscessed tooth. This could of killed my precious dog. Please do not send your loved pets here.

Dr. Lutz misdiagnosed a condition that is common in dalmations. She told me his urination appeared normal, and I should just keep an eye on him. Two days later (Saturday) I had to go to an emergency vet to save his life - his ureter was completely plugged. That vet told me that most dalmations over 8 years get bladder stones. (He was 8.) For follow up care, we went back to Dr. Lutz. She prescribed medication and Rx diet that he has been taking for two years. After taking him to another vet, I have found that she prescribed a dose of medication 5x higher than the formulary allowance - a dose that is high enough to cause additional problems. When we brought in our other dog, she determined that he had an extreme bout of pancreatitis that sped along his (previously slowly progressing) kidney failure. Before telling us that there was nothing we could do to save him, Dr. Lutz had the nerve to lecture us for not having his teeth cleaned earlier.

I have been taking my chihuahua to Piedmont Pets since he was 8 weeks old, and they have always made it a pleasant expierence for both me and my pet. Also their prices are more reasonable than any of the other local vets, I have checked. I have turned all my friends and family to Piedmont Pets because I know I can trust them even in an emergency situation. They have knowledgable and compassionate doctors and staff that explain things in a way the common person can understand and i like that because i feel it is very important to understand your pets health. I am very pleased with Piedmont and after reading a few of the other reviews I was just disgusted with their comments because i find them to be untrue, and I felt the need to express my feelings about the vet that has always provided me and my pet with %110 caring statisfaction.

I have been using this vet for 10+ years. Today I called to talk to Rick about my dog that has an injury. I cannot afford to pay a $300 plus bill and in the past they have worked with me and I have had some extensive bills that have never been held for more than a month. Rick told me that they have worked with us in the past, but.... But what? I guess it is time to find another vet. Thank you Piedmont Pets. I would say its been a pleasure, and in some ways it has. However, I really thought they cared about our pets. It is like anything else. The almighty dollar. I will be taking my business elsewhere because they dont care about our pets.
