Today I left very disappointed in the way I was treated by Dr.Casey. My dog had a annual checkup so we could put her on Trifexis. He preceded to tell me she needed a heartworm test done which was not mentioned when I made the appointment and he gave me no option to do it or not. I asked about a bump on her toe and he preceded to tell me how serious the issue was and that he put in for blood work...not once mentioning how much this could cost me to get out the door. So I asked because I didnt want a $500 bill at the end when I walked in only expecting to pay $100 or so. He said with an attitude" well it will be much more than that" and yelled to the back for them not to do it. Then told me he was treating her ear infection again keeping the price a total secret...when I preceded to ask he replied with "about $40 so what you dont want to do that either today?"!!Then continued to tell me how obese my dog is even though she was down 6lbs since the last visit which was probably 3 months ago. But because I cant feel and count her ribs she needs to lose more weight!! What a joke this dr is! I am beyond irritated with the way he treated me. He treated me like a young poor kid that couldnt afford a dog! First off I can afford everything my dog needs, but when you want to make money so bad and dont want to be upfront about prices I WILL go else where. To keep business coming back I think he needs to control is attitude when asked questions we have the right to know, not continue with treatment until you talk and confirm everything with the person paying and respect the owner decisions!!!! I have never been treated so poorly!!

We are very, very disappointed with a recent transaction. My husband and I decided to bring our animals to this clinic. Dr. Casey was very professional and informative and appeared to very caring with our animal visits. During one of our recent visits with our new AKC Yorkie we asked about getting our cat declawed. Dr. Casey informed us of the price of $250.00. I called the first week of August and scheduled the appointment for August 15th. Again, I asked the price and the receptionist told me it was $250.00 which included the blood work, medicine and one overnight stay. My husband brought our cat for her blood work and the appointment was set in stone for August 15th. On Friday, August 12th we received a preliminary bill in the mail for the amount of $536.50 of which we thought this had to be an error as they told us twice the declawing amount was $250.00. I contacted the clinic on Saturday and they informed me that their prices went up??? I told them that they cant quote a customer one price and then charge them another. The receptionist said yeah that doesnt seem right and said that Dr. Casey would call me back. I still havent received a phone call. In the meantime, I called another local Veterinary Clinic who was to happy to schedule our cat for a declaw surgery for $216.00 plus the cat would stay overnight for two nights. I think this is absolutely ridiculous that a Veterinary Clinic would charge us double after they quoted us the price of $250.00.

Update from earlier post....Sarah After seeing dr casey, he seems great, but only told me that he could only help her fleas issues...which that ended up not being the main issue. I told him when we took her in there was something else wrong and sassy needed help but he kept insisting that it was fleas and I kept insisting it was something else. Cats just dont lose 4 lbs from fleas in one month. So he sent us home with flea meds and they called 2 days later to see how she was doing, she was ok at that point, I told them the fleas were gone but she didnt seem any better other than that. I was still worried but they told me to give the meds another week or two to work and see how she was then. Today is Thanksgiving day. I am thankful for being able to have my cat sassy with me for 10 years. Today I came home from being with family for 2 days. Sassy is dying. She can barely walk, isnt eating, and has the most pitiful meow. And today there are NO vets open except for the emergency hospitals that want to charge $90 for a visit and another $40 to put her down.....so because this vet didnt listen to me and help her like I asked I get a crappy thanksgiving watching my cat die. Thanks dr casey for giving us a wonderful holiday.

Disappointing veterinarian! 14 years ago we adopted a 6 month old puppy from the nearby shelter and this was the vet they use to get their shots, so we continued with them. 4-5 days after adopting Buddy and bringing him home he wasnt wanting to eat, he stayed on his bed he rarely drank, my gut told me he had Parvo. I called the office to get him and Dr Casey looked him over and said oh he is getting teeth in, etc.... he will be fine- I mentioned the symptoms and indicated they are exactly the same as Parvo, he looked at me and said no its his teeth the test for Parvo is expensive wouldnt want to waste your money .... (I should have listened to my gut), a few hours later he was getting worse, I called pet smart to ask if they do the Parvo test and they do for $30!!! $30, WTH does my vet charge for that same test?!! Needless to say I gave them symptoms over the phone and they told me to get him into the animal hospital immediately! $1800.00 and 3 days later our 6 month old puppy survived Parvo!!!! No help to Dr. Casey! Today we are putting him down, and called the office to get pricing and they are over $200 if you dont want to be in the room (just drop and run

My family has been going to this clinic for our family for over 20 years. I no longer live in Puyallup, but wish that i did certainly for this clinic. I know that sounds strange but this clinic is amazing and has my full trust. I always take my pets to Dr Casey for second opinions when i am able. He has saved me so much money by not buying into unnecessary treatments by other vets. I wish that i could take this clinic every time we move, i have never had a clinic seem so concerned for my pet. Dr casey has spent a full hour with my pet and i am willing to pay the extra price(which isnt that much extra compared to the vets in San diego) b/c i leave feeling confident in the diagnosis and treatment and education i receive in that full hour. i wish i could just take my dog to this clinic, but being in the military that does not leave me with this option! Thank you Puyallup Valley Veterinary Clinic! You are a gift to my best friend!

Everyone here is very kind, smart, and willing to help answer any questions. I called in to inquire about their services before considering adopting a puppy and was given a lot of time and dedication by the person who answered the phone. She did not seem too rushed to answer my questions about vaccines, spaying, microchipping, and flea control. I am very impressed and will be scheduling an appointment as soon as I find the right puppy for me! My friend takes her dog there and said that they really do show a personal touch and care about every patient. She received a phone call about her pets vaccines being past due, which really helped her because she was about to go on vacation and would have been in a bind if not for the reminder call. I dont know of any clinics that do that! I was very impressed to know they care about each individual pet as if he or she was their own!
