I have been bringing my four cats and now also two dogs to the West Seattle Animal Hospital for over ten years. The doctors and staff are wonderful. We have a very difficult cat who attacks strangers and Dr. Gomez is great with her. She actually sits down on the floor with her for most of the examination which calms the cat. Dr. Bergstrom is also a very compassionate doctor and able to deal with my mean kitty. They perform gentle exams on all of our animal family. If you ever have any questions you can call and a nurse is always available to answer your questions over the telephone. The facility is very nice, it actually used to be a hospital for humans so the exam rooms are very nice. In response to another review, in all my ten years and many visits to the WSAH, no one has ever tried to sell me pet insurance nor did I have the sense I was being up-sold on a procedure. Another big deal is that they are open seven days a week and are open until 7 p.m. in the evenings so it is very convenient if you work and also if you have an animal emergency. We had a diabetic cat who had a seizure at 2:30 a.m. one morning and it was a thousand dollar deposit for the emergency vet (not WSAH) to even look at her. We paid it of course, but if you have an animal emergency during weekend business hours, be sure to take your pet to West Seattle Animal Hospital to avoid incurring emergency vet fees. West Seattle Animal Hospital is top notch!

Dr.Saks is amazing. We had seen her before with our older chihuahua, The Hulk, for some pain he was experiencing and she was very thorough, gently and kind. We went in this time with our 6 year old chihuahua, Chloe danger, for knee problems. She was limping with her back left leg in a lot of pain. We explained that she had a history of this and dr.saks listened and did her own examination. She explained what was going on in great detail and was very sweet and gentle with our little one. She also has a cataracts and we showed her the medicine Chloe was given before. She wasnt familiar with it and wasnt sure we needed to give it to her. HERES the MOST amazing part. The next day she called and said she has done some more research and talked to an eye specialist. After the research she found a drop we should give her and called in the prescription. She went above and beyond. She definitely didnt have to research that or put in the time to call and explain her findings. She wonderful and I feel so comfortable taking our babies to someone who cares that much about their comfort and well being.

My poor little dog has terrible peridontal disease and after a horrible experience with her last dental procedure at a veterinary hospital in Bothell, I planned to never put her through a dental again. It was ineveitable that her teeth needed help and Dr Gomez went out of her way to make sure that our experience there with her dental procedure was going to be perfect this time...and it was!! She along with the staff were so kind, communicative and gentle with both of us. After her procedure, Dr Gomez brought my dog to me wrapped in a clean towel to keep her warm and gave me explicit instructions how to work with the medications and answered every question I had...and I had many ....very clearly and with alot of patience. Also the cost was sooo reasonable....I would never take my dog anywhere else for her care and highly recommend this hospital!!

We took our newly adopted dog here for her wellness exam because we are new to the area and received a coupon in the mail for a free exam. Such a great idea, so we made an appointment. The front office gals were friendly and after some paperwork and about ten minutes wait we were taken back to an exam room. After a little wait our vet or vet assistant came in and began the exam, but did not introduce themselves and was not very personable. She was very educated about dogs and dog behavior which was helpful, but she seemed to have a hard time explaining and relating information to us. She could relate more to our dog than to us and after the exam was over and we left I felt like we were just another client that they would soon forget.

I started going to WSAH because a friend worked there. Years later, the friend no longer works there and I have moved further away, but I still use WSAH because they are simply the best vet I have found, and have extremely reasonable prices. My pets (a bulldog and a cat) have been seen by just about every doctor there, and I have always been impressed with how well they have treated my fur babies. The doctors and nurses are very accessible and great with answering questions, and they have never tried to sell me anything I didnt need. The whole staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are excellent and clean. I really cant say enough good things about this place!

This was once a good clinic, but they became huge, and their standards fell. They told us to ignore a problem in our dog, because "it is probably nothing." We went on vacation and came back two weeks later to see that his mouth was being consumed by a huge tumor. After surgery to remove half his jaw, since it was too late to do anything else, another vet said they were shocked because no competent vet would ever ignore a lesion in the mouth of a dog--ever. The West Seattle Animal Hospital definitely contributed to the early death of our dog. I am going over there soon to get my cats vet records so I can take my animals elsewhere.

They killed our family member, after paying extra for more diagnostics (bloodwork, xrays, etc.) and after saying she looked great for her surgery, she passed away, and now they are HOLDING THE REMAINS FOR RANSOM. We were hit with over an $800 bill for the surgery that killed her - sure, fine. But to not release her ashes to us and not be "able" to itemize the charges so we could just pay the cremation charges so we can have her back, is infuriating. They will extort you to get your deceased loved family members back, just keep that in mind i guess.

I have recently delivered two of my poo-covered pets to West Seattle Animal Hospital for grooming services, and their team provided exceptional professionalism and abnormally friendly (given the circumstance) attitudes, and returned squeaky clean critters at a reasonable price. I wish they had a line for tips on their grooming receipts. We take our pets elsewhere for veterinary services (were just really attached to our vet), and they dont harass us about switching -- which is very much appreciated.

Normally we go to Lien, but this office has been perfect for grooming, last minute appts, and weekend/evening availability. Dr. Gomez is great! Had a kitty with FIP (horrible, incurable, untestable disease) and had to put our sweet guy down one weekend when Lien was closed. Dr. Gomez was very loving and understanding and gave us lots of time with our little dude after we had to let him go. Ugh. I dont know how vets do it! But Dr. Gomez does it well.
