Up until today, I would have agreed with all of the reviews listed here. Up until today, the staff was incredible and my experience was phenomenal. I made the appointment for my dog because she was showing signs of having a recurrence of demodex mange. Wed gone through all of the recommended therapies about a year ago through American Animal Hospital in Neenah. I followed their instructions diligently, which included giving a rather high dose of Ivermectin for the first week or so, and then six weeks of daily treatment of the drug. I sincerely believed based on what theyd told me, that these recommendations would cure my dog. I was told that she had this because she was exposed to the mites in utero and that something had caused her immune system to be compromised which caused the condition to come out of hibernation. I found out today, that this is a disease that regularly reoccurs. I found out also that this mite is actually one that lives on the surface of the skin and when the immune system is compromised, it causes an overgrowth of it (best way I can relate this...is to yeast) which causes the hair to start falling out in patches. In our case, it happens to be on our dogs back. I was really upset that this was not explained to me well the first time around. I really thought everything wed went through, was to cure our dog, not to only treat one occurrence! When I brought this up to the treating vet, she quickly pushed it off as not being her fault, because she wasnt the vet that treated our dog the first time around. I never said it was her fault, but it would have been nice if someone could take accountability for our having to go through this. She quickly left to get "Dr. Pat". At first he came in and was kind as Id experienced him to be in the past. His response though that I should have read the pamphlet that was given to me, instead of being told this information by the treating vet, was not a good explanation for me. I simply stated that the treating vet knew that this was our first dog and that I really was naive about this. I thought she really should have explained this to me better. Our dog is a three year old female boxer. While trained, she is very rambunctious. Shes also 75 pounds, so holding her down is a challenge when shes excited. Dr Pat was crouched down on her level and she jumped on him, catching his pocket with her claw. At this point, Dr Pat rudely said "Control your dog!". We immediately left. I feel like I got ripped off completely. I did call to pay the bill for today, but man I really hated paying for that. I will not take my dog back to this vet again, Ive seriously never experienced that lack professionalism with someone who frequently takes care of beings that cannot speak for themselves.

I have been taking one of my dogs, Naomi, to AAH for a number of months now. I have seen numerous vets for her prior because when I saved her from a high kill shelter, she was paralyzed in her back legs (she later regained much of her mobility, but not much bladder control). We had numerous vets look at her and run tests on her, but we were not able to determine any specific reason she was paralyzed. One of the last things for me to try was laser therapy. AAH was recommended to me to try, and Im thankful I did. Dr. Melissa explained what might be going on with Naomi better than any other vet I saw, and showed me specifically what we needed to analyze and focus on to help her. While I knew the laser therapy wouldnt solve all her issues permanently, it really has definitely helped her. Her case study was not seen before (this was true for all the vets Ive seen), so a lot of it was trial, which they were very honest about. On top of that, all of the staff has been so amazing to both myself and Naomi. They always make me feel welcomed and important. They are willing to go above and beyond to make sure Naomi is happy during her sessions and that we are seeing progress. I had been going there weekly for her therapy sessions, and while its not fun to go to the vet every week, I actually found myself looking forward to it. They truly care about the well being of peoples pets and healing them as best as they can.

American Animal Hospital is such an amazing place! You will be given the best of the best service from that first phone call to the ladies at the front desk, to saying goodbye as you walk out the door. Never rushed, always gentle, kind and compassionate, they not only make your pet feel better but nervous and scared pet parents too! They take the time to let your pet get comfortable with them and ultimately treat your pet as if it was their own. Great care is taken to walk you through the processes of your visit and to ensure that you understand everything. Check up phone calls to make sure all is well and happy in your pets world let you know that the caring continues. I would give them 10 stars if I could! I only wish that I had found AAH a long time ago!

Ive gone to many vets in the area since moving here 3 years ago, and AAH was the only one to help my kitty Blue with her seizures. AAH suggested different options and treatment, when I was at such a loss. Everyone is always incredibly helpful, and supportive of the massive rescue mission that the Fox Valley is becoming a part of. Dr. Pat Mahoney even lends his expertise to the animals at Oshkosh Area Humane Society, and many of the staff are frequent supporters, volunteers, and fosters for the many homeless animals in the area. I constantly recommend them while I am volunteering or at work within the rescue and sheltering realm.

WE LOVE AMERICAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL! We have 3 cats and a puppy and we are so happy we chose to bring them here for their health care. The staff is professional, friendly and just plain awesome! We have seen Dr Melissa and Dr. Dane and they show love and concern when they treat our pets. We had a tragedy in our family this past winter and the entire staff has been very supportive and caring. Our son recommended this clinic to us when we moved to Grand Chute a year ago and we are very happy we took his advice. They are like family to us. We recommend them to anyone looking for a great Vet!

We adopted two cats from OARS and AAH was one of the clinics that offer first visits free for cats adopted through that organization. It was close to home, so we decided to give them a shot. SO WORTH IT!!! They took the time to get to know us, our past history with pets, as well as work with us on our new pets. Dr. Melissa was wonderful with both our kitties, very calm and kind with them. She and her vet tech were also very nice to our children who were present during the exam and subsequent other office visits we have had. I highly recommend them to anyone with a pet.

Today, Friday Feb. 29,2016, Dr. Lisa Hatfield and her caring staff took the best care of my cat, Jadie, and took great care for me as he passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I lost my little boy of almost 19 years, just 4 months shy of his 19th birthday. I will miss him terribly. If, someday, I adopt another kitty, American Animal Hospital, and especially, Dr. Lisa, will be where my pet will receive care. Pat G.
