I have never been treated so poorly by a medical "professional" in my life. I had 2 severely infected teeth that needed to be pulled immediately (one on each side of my mouth, both were the second tooth back from my canines), because antibiotics were not keeping the infection at bay and I was in severe pain. When I made the appointment over the phone they said they could pull them the day of the appt even though it was my first time seeing Dr. Thaney. Well when I got to the office he spent 2 hours talking about what I need to do in the future to prevent these problems and about how much other work I need. He continuously put me down in rude ways for the condition of my teeth. Finally when we got to talking about the extractions he tried to say that we never planned to do the procedure that day, then he kept arguing with me about using some form of sedative instead of just novacaine, when I made it clear that I am uncomfortable with sedation and have had 3 major dental surgeries without it, including getting 2 teeth pulled at once and part of my jaw bone removed at the same time, and was completely fine and never felt pain. I think he was using the sedation to make it so I would be forced to come back another day for the procedure because he didnt want to take the time to do it that day. Well when we finally got to doing the procedure he and the assistant both told me that if I felt any pain to raise my hand and they would do something about it, well after about 5 minutes the pressure turned into a very severe pain like nothing I have ever felt, but I tried to fight it and get through it, but after a few minutes I couldnt bear it anymore and raised my hand. He literally pushed my hand back down and yelled at me to open my mouth wider and insisted that it was just pressure that I was feeling. I kept trying to deal with the pain but I could literally feel everything he was doing, I could feel him yanking and twisting and breaking my teeth. Every time I raied my hand he refused to stop and do anything about it. Finally we got to a point where nobodys hands were in my mouth and I shouted out "that is not pressure that is pain THIS HURTS!!" and again he yelled at me to open my mouth and refused to do anything about it even though by this point I was hysterical. He also lied and said that it couldnt be hurting because both teeth "didnt have the nerves" but not only could you clearly see them in the xrays, my primary dentist pointed them out to me to show me the infection and how severe it was 2 weeks prior to this. He did not properly stitch my gums, be simply covered the hole with thread but did not tighten them so the hole would mend together, and the stitches fell out of both sides by the next evening. It has been 2 months since this appointment and my gums are still in pain on a daily basis, and it feels like the teeth going forward from the two that were pulled on either side of my mouth are now closer together to the point where I cant fit floss between some of them and it is extremely painful. If anything My teeth should be spreading out now that there is more room for them, not pressing closer together. I honestly feel like he treated me this way intentionally, and caused me pain intentionally because he was mad that I wouldnt put the procedure off for another month and refused sedation. He even stated "well this is why I said you needed sedation". No, sedation is a personal choice and there is no reason I shouldnt be able to get a pain free procedure without it. I will never go back to him or recommend him to anyone. He was the most rude and unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting, and I am hoping he didnt do permanent damage to my mouth but honestly Ive been terrified to go see anyone else since then. This man scarred me for life.

I went to Dr. Thaney 2 years ago for a night guard , cap and to have a filling fixed between my back to molars, let me tell ya the 1st night guard did not fit I had to go back and had a new one made I waited over an hour an a half to see a hygienist for 5 min, the filling between the back two molars , as Dr Thaney pulled the band off that separates the molars he pulled part of my tooth off and part of the new filling with it, at the time I was unaware of it, when I called to complain that the tooth hurt I was told that I would have to come in at the end of the day and wait , wait I said cant you see me on Friday to take a look it was really bothering me and since I paid an additional $1200.00 above my insurance you would think that the could open for hour on Friday so I would have to wait another hour and a half , I work full time and DO not have that kind of time to sit and wait around when I did nothing wrong in the first place , let me tell ya they did not care Friday is their day off and the hell with me, I called and left several msgs and my calls were gone unanswered the one time I was called back by the office manager I was asked "what was my problem now" and If I wanted them to look at it my only option was to take more time off of work or came at the end of the day and WAIT. So I found a new Dentist and finally had the tooth fixed and had to pay him more money for something that should have been fixed right the first time and my night guard is really bad as well my teeth hurt in the morning with it so I am using a sports guard for now, my insurance wont pay for a new one till December 2016, the cap is almost the only thing he did right and that had to be re shaped by the other dentist, I was not treated like a valued customer and my time was not as valuable as theirs I will not ever go back.

Its always a pleasure to go to Dr. Thaney, he and all of his associates always do their best to ensure comfort and fit on everything they do. My new crown which is completed in 1 trip to the office fits excellent and my occlusion guard is very comfortable to wear and has eliminated all pain from clenching my teeth while sleeping. I would highly recommend Dr Thaneys practice for anyone that is looking for a great dentist!! I had a new crown made on Aug 11 and Dr Thaney did an excellent job with a perfect fit. I always feel comfortable there and his whole team does a fantastic job. Best dentist ever!!!!
