I just had a horrible experience with Dr. Rubinstein. He quoted my out of pocket cost for glasses to be MUCH more then it should have. Dishonest! Para todos me amigos hispanos. Porfavor saber lo que tu seguro cubre antes de entrar a esta oficina. el dr puede cobrar más y no esta supuesto In search for glasses my 2nd grader is comfortable wearing I called & realized my insurance covers pediatric glasses. My insurance is one of many listed on Sound Shores website. I called to confirm before coming to see the selection. Dr. Rubinstein at first was extremely helpful and quick to get the details of my insurance. I totally appreciated this as I also like to move fast. My child picked a pair and I asked what the total cost would be. He Quoted me just $100 off and $50 for the lenses. ( frame listed at $199) I corrected him and said i should also have an additional 60% off the remaining balance of the frame. He said he couldnt sell them at that price as he wouldnt be making any money, then thanked me and walked into another room. As to dismiss me. Probably knowing that I would also realize he shouldnt be charging me at all for the lenses as my insurance offers 100% coverage on lenses. I left and thanked him , he was short with me. Then as i was entering the car came out and handed me my insurance card. (hence the 1 star rating) and told me not to use his office as a showroom. REALLY! his selection is less then mediocre. needless to say I am married to a doctor therefore very knowledgeable of my rights. The false advertising of insurance is completely unethical! He should at the very least have lenses to offer at the price point United Healthcare covers. so my advice carry a copy of what your insurance covers if you have to shop there.

Dr. Rubinstein took the time to walk me through my health insurance vision benefits which included phone calls into the insurance companies and the exchanging of faxes to make sure I received the benefits I was entitled to. I also can now see!! We experimented with many different types of contacts- different Rxs, materials and astigmatic correcting. I was so happy to be able to see the keynote speaker at my graduation and enjoy a mets game with the ability to call the pitches (ex: high and inside) like never before! Dr. Rubinstein also has a great sense of humor and patience putting anyone at ease (especially when administering the glaucoma air-burst-into-the-open-eye test). I highly recommend him! And his website allows you to make appointments online- I think I made my appointment at 11pm- Very convenient!

I had a great examination with a very friendly optometrist, Dr. Rubinstein. I came in for contacts and was sure that I was a candidate for them and was scared to put them into my eyes but Dr. Rubinsteins expert assistance, it was very easy to have them placed in my eyes, Unforfunately, with the difficulties I have with my farsightedness and my astigmatism, I am not a good candidate so he and I decided that rimless glasses without the bifocal that I have had for years was a much better decision for me. I was not pressured into anything but a joint decision was made. I felt that I was with a trusted allay and would go back to Dr. Rubinstein in a heartbeat if I had additional questions. Hes a good guy.

I had an eye exam and purchased new glasses at Sound Shore Vision in July 2017. The service was excellent and Doctor Rubinstein was willing to answer all of my questions. The staff was very patient and spent a lot of time helping me choose frames. There was a wide selection of high quality frames. I got my glasses very quickly and I am very happy with how they fit. I highly recommend Sound Shore Vision!

Dr. Rubinstein has the latest technology in contact lenses. He has very flexible hours so it is easy to see him on a Sunday or at night. He really cares about his patients and takes the time to listen to his patients. I always feel that I have his complete attention when I am there and that I am getting the best possible care.

This is a great office & with weekend and late night hours, the doctor is always available. He cares about your vision and only wants to make you comfortable & able to see perfectly. Hes funny and makes you feel relaxed when going through an exam.
