My dogs all love to visit Community Animal Hospital, and when we had a cat, she loved to go there too. The staff and doctors all take the time to make friends with my pets and they talk with them, pet them, and give them treats whenever were there. I really appreciate how caring and informative everyone there is with me. No matter which doctor my pets have seen, they take the time to answer all my questions and never rush me out. The techs are wonderful and often come in to say hi to me and whichever pet I have there, even when they arent the one who will be working with us. My dogs especially like the front desk staff and love to pop in (or up) to get petted and get treats before we leave. Another thing I especially like about Community Animal Hospital, as opposed to some other animal hospitals, is the layout. You come in the waiting room through one door, then when you leave, you never go back in the waiting room; you pay in a different area and exit through another door. This really helps avoid dog to dog confrontations and reduces stress all around.

I had been bringing my dog and cat here for a few years without a problem. Last fall I brought my senior cat in and it looked like she had cancer. Dr. Ryder lacked compassion and understanding and seemed annoyed that I questioned her course of diagnosis/treatment. Id had my cat for 10 years and wanted to do what was best for her, but Dr. Ryder wasnt interested in discussing any other options with me. I got off the phone with her in tears. I brought my cat to another vet and the service we received there was exceptional. They gave me all of my options, told me the decision was mine to make, and helped me care for my cat in the most humane way possible for the remainder of her life. 5 months later, I still have never received a call from Community Animal Hospital to check in on my cat.

Dr, Viano is probably one of the BEST veterinarians I have ever dealt with. You can see she really loves her job and always has the animals best interest in mind. I have been to other veterinarians before and shes always impressed me. This vet is reasonably priced compared to other locations I have visited. I truly believe she has saved my dog Flash twice now with her advice and medications prescribed. My other dog Fred was there for surgery in March 2015 and I felt comfort knowing she was the veterinarian handling his case. The staff is very friendly and always helpful in person or on the phone. The technicians are also very sweet and friendly. I really like this animal hospital. Thank you all for taking care of our two babies all of these years. -Laura and Peter

My experience with the Community Animal Hospital has been the best over the last 20 plus years. They have sent their sympathy cards to our family, when we have lost each pet. Their expertise and knowledge and with their passion for the care of the animals gives them a 100 plus. They have helped me care for my pet for surgery during hard financial times and were kind enough to help me make payments. TThere are caring and devotive doctors in this practice, The technicans should also be applauded for their ...wonderful work as well. The people taking care of the billing and the front desk speak to you with great courtesy and in a very friendly manner. I tell all my friends to go there as well. I will always be and go there. I have full trust.

I brought my cat Stanley to Community Animal Hospital after several of my friends recommended them to me. It was an emergency, I was not a patient yet, and they took me in within the hour. What my old vet overcharged me for, and then did not treat my cat for, Community had diagnosed and treated within an hour. Stanley had to stay there for a few days and there were many calls after the procedure and daily from Dr. Rider to give me updates on his progress. They were not expensive and they were very caring and professional. Most of all, Stanley seemed to have enjoyed his stay there and is now feeling much better! Thank you Community Animal Hospital, this was a great first experience and I will be referring my friends.

Weve had a good many pets over the years - mostly cats but also a pigeon and a rabbit. The good staff have welcomed them all and the doctors treated them all. Dr. P has been a wonderful, kind and thoughtful vet over the years. Years ago we had a cat with an extremely rare disease; he went above and beyond trying to find her help and treatment. Our little Peta was gone before her 3rd birthday, but Dr. P worked hard to keep her going and helped us more than hell know. As well, Dr. Annie, Dr. Ryder and Dr. Rutherford are all accomplished, warm and caring vets. Some of their staff have been there for many years as well. We can very highly recommend Community Animal Hospital!

I came to Community Animal Hospital after I was unhappy with a diagnosis at East Fishkill Animal Hospital. That was 6 years ago and I have been happy ever since. I lost my Butch in 2011 and they were very compassionate and caring even though I took the loss badly and they could see I how much Butch meant to me. Now they are taking care of my two Golden Retrievers and I am waiting for a new addition as well for which I am happy to have them care for as well. I especially like that I can email Dr. Peterson directly and he always responds. I highly recommend Community Animal Hospital for their vets and their staff. Vincent Nesi

I have used Community Animal Hospital and Dr. Petersen for close to 33 years when we first rescued a dog who became our Sandy. When Sandy died after 14 years we then purchased a Standard Poodle 7 years ago and once again utilized Community Animal Hospital and Dr. Petersen, who hasnt aged a bit ;0). Dr. Petersen is amazing and "spot on" with his evaluations and medications. Along with Dr. Petersen, I have to include the staff. They are friendly, helpful and always accommodating. You never have to wait. I highly recommend Community Animal Hospital for your precious pets. They have never let me down.

We have used CAH for our pets for the last 20 years. The people there actually care about your pets and give them great care. The patient portal is extremely nice as well, you can email your pets Doctor with questions and actually get a reply! ;) Our last kitty (Toni) was with us for 18 years and our current little girl (Cali) will probably have the same longevity with their quality care and caring. Thanks all! I highly recommend using Community Animal Hospital for your pet needs. To the Community Animal Hospital staff - our account is under my wifes name just FYI - VanTassell. ;)

Weve used Community Animal Hospital for a string of small animals, and in the last six years for our adopted elderly Schnoodle, Ralphie. They were wonderful with him, even though he clearly thought he was a prince, and Dr. Rutherford, in particular, was caring and thoughtful over his somewhat difficult last year of life. It was finally time for him to go about a month ago, and both Dr. Rutherford and the staff could not have been more sensitive or caring. We are beginning to think about adopting again, and will definitely be back.
