We ended up visiting this office as an urgent visit as a referral from our primary pediatrician on a day that they were not open to see our son. We will never be back to this office again and we are sharing our experience so that others do not find themselves in a similar situation. On the phone, my wife asked specifically if they accepted our insurance and had a similar billing process as our primary. Currently pretty much all of our medical bills across the board have come to us in association with U of R billing (because of that, we have also been able to have income based assistance through U of R on our medical expenses, which is why we asked in the first place). The receptionist, who happens to be the doctors wife, assured us that they accept our insurance and bill the same way. This ended up being our biggest disappointment in our interactions with them as weeks later we received a hand written invoice that made us feel as if we had just been time-warped back to 1950. The bill had our sons name, DOB, "office visit", and a whopping 132 dollar price tag written on it. My wife called on the matter and they receptionist was short with her before we even had a chance to even know how we were going to be frustrated. After speaking to our insurance, who spoke to the office (and also mentioned the snippy attitude), we were told that she would be re-billing us with a proper bill that would include an account number and reflect a filing of this visit through our insurance. Today we received another hand written bill where the only difference from the first was the fact that she wrote processed through insurance and a three digit account number next to our sons date of birth. Which I must add that apparently in a matter of a week our son apparently had a drastic change in not only the month and day of his birth, but he apparently also is no longer a 15 month old and is going to be turning 6 yrs old this month (according to the DOB) on our new bill. So after speaking to our insurance, once again, who spent more time on the phone with the office, we found out that although they "accept" our insurance, they didnt inform us that it would be processed in a different way so that we got charged the full amount. They also clearly avoided acknowledging that they do not bill in association through U of R and therefore making it unable for us to provide the assistance we have towards it. Beyond the billing nightmare, Ill mention a few aspects of our visit that had us questioning whether or not we should just walk out at multiple points. The waiting room had plenty of grimy toys that didnt exactly scream "trust us, we are good with kids." Had we been seen remotely close to the time we had an appointment for, we might not have noticed that aspect. We waited over an hour past our appt before we were taken into the patient room. Once taken in, I noticed the conversion of what would have been better suited as a custodian closet into a patient room. As I sat down in the chair, I decided quickly to shift over to the next seat as the first one felt as if it was going to give way and collapse beneath me. Shifting to the next seat gave me a clear line of sight to the trash can that was simply placed under the patient table, this of course was a game that I played with my 15 mo old son for the rest of our visit titled "Please dont touch the grimy and potentially hazardous trash!" This can had no cover on it, and I did not see a distinction as to where dangerous items should be thrown out. The can was full of variety of content that even had me concerned, and Im the relaxed parent when it comes to germs and such. When the doc came in, he talked about my glasses more than he paid attention to our son (you know... His patient). He offered our 15 old his very first sucker without checking with us, and once he had it we couldnt really pry it from his hands. That game was called, "Dont stick the stick down your throat!" In short, very unsatisfied!

Dont listen to the other reviewer. I cant speak for their incompetent insurance, but Ive been working with Eisenbergs office for years. He was my pediatrician, and is now my kids doctor. Hes great with children. Of the many visits Ive had to his office, both as a patient, and a parent, he has rarely kept us waiting too long. The only time that may happen is if another parent is asking a dozen questions, and holding him up. Ive never had a problem with insurance, or how theyve billed anything. Not sure how that went wrong with the other reviewer. Hes very casual as a doctor, but thats intentional in order to help keep the kid hes seeing calm. He always changes the sheeting on the examination table, always is in high spirits, and the waiting room and examination room are comfortable and kept clean and organized. Dr. Eisenberg is the most trustworthy pediatrician Ive known. I wouldnt take my kids anywhere else. Hes so good at what he does, he can practically have your kid looking forward to getting their shots. Take it from someone whos been seeing him for actual decades over a one time visitor, this is a guy who cares a lot about his job, his young patients, and their parents.
