Probably the worst experience of my life. My 81 year old grandfather went in for a cardiac cath, presurgery for his valve replacement and thoracic ascending aorta aneurism, in the "prestigious" heart tower and came out of the minor surgery in severe pain. He had shortness of breath, muscle spasms, etc. They couldnt figure out what it was... FOR FIVE DAYS. They asked him if he pulled a muscle or fell. The doctor performing the cardiac cath said to us "It has nothing to do with the heart so its not what I did." They call themselves doctors? The nursing staff was even worse, I found one of the aids yelling at my grandfather. They left him in dirty clothes for days, did not offer to wash him, brush his teeth, ANYTHING. One of the nurses actually said to us "Oh, its a ghost town here on the weekends, you wont be able to see a doctor." WHAT?! Isnt this a hospital? They had one floor doctor tending to 60+ patients. We called his surgeon at Lennox Hill and he sent us an ambulance to take him to NYC right away. Once he got there we found out, he had a pulmonary embolism, he was a-fib, and contracted sepsis from being in SIUH North. I would never send my worst enemy to this hospital. This was the worst experience I have ever had and I wasnt even the patient. Do yourself a favor and go to Manhattan to doctors and nurses who care, are intelligent and are professional.

Worst hospital ever please stay as far away as possible if you love yourself or your loved one please do not for any reason at all come to this hospital. They are murderes this hospital should be shut down. You come in for a cut next thing you know you are on your death bed. They cover all their mistakes and let me tell you they make many many mistakes. Its a shame because you should feel safe leaving your loved one in the hospital but definitely not this one. Run run run away and dont think twice about ever coming here. You will never get a straight answer you will never find the attendings or surgeons. Just a bunch of excuses. You have to stay with your loved one 24 7 to make sure nothing goes wrong and when you do that they get annoyed and constantly ask you to leave the room or go get something to eat dont worry. Yeah right please just take my advice and never walk through the doors of this hospital I am filing a complaint with the board and will be suing this hospital shortly for all the mistakes they have made and tried to cover up. But I have videos , pictures , voicemails and so much more proof of their neglect and how incompetent this entire staff is. How their mistakes have caused a loved one of mine to suffer through so much unnecessary and countless complications and pain. One after another!!!!

HORRIBLE place for orthodontist care! Beware! Save your hard earned money! (or insurance money lol) I started coming here 3 years ago for minor spacing issues, the price was right so I began my treatments. Appointments are SO spread out because a lot of people go there for work (not just braces). Waiting room is always packed without fail and waiting time is ridiculous. Id like to point out that the same person will never do your teeth- it always seems to be someone who is training (the nurses are very nice though). Appointments are ONLY on FRIDAY MORNINGS (not afternoons, MORNINGS) and if your under 18 you cannot go to your appointment alone. It was difficult making it to these random appointments on Friday mornings when I was a junior in high school, my parents were WORKING, and I wasnt allowed to go on my own. I recently got my braces off because I decided to go somewhere else-- the head orthodontist made comments like "she wasnt compliant with the plan", "she hasnt been here in 3 years" and "dont even give her the retainer"- super rude and I was right there. Also, Id just been there a couple of months prior (for an appointment. Dont recommend this place- Ill be trying out somewhere else.

If you care about your health, you would be better seeing a veterinarian. Most of the doctors are from the third world, which just might give you an idea of their competency. I was forced to wear the same gown for 4 days. I was unable to bath, with the exception of a sponge bath. I was admitted for blood clots in my lung, and did not see a pulmonary doctor until an hour before I discharged myself. All the prescriptions, proscribe by my other doctors, which were numerous, were not given, such as, spriva, advair, flovent, azore, and daliresp. In my own opinion anyone who enters that house of horrors is playing roulette with their lives. I have contacted an attorney to pursue litigation. Also, I intend to file a complaint with state board of hospitasl. Once again it is my contention this hospital is very a dangerous place to seek medical attention, unless you have an ingrown toenail, but then of course they most likely will take out your finger nail instead. They do not even rate one star. In the words of George C Scott( from the movie Hospital) he asks the head of nursing," Where did you train your nurses? Dachau! Makes one wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

My experience with this Hospital was pretty good. I was taken to the emergency room with an infection on my right foot. Obviously or not I didnt get the immediate medical help, had to wait about two and a half hours until someone came and checked on me. However, once they realised that my condition is serious and I need to have a surgery right away, the entire staff showed their professionalism and generosity. My surgeons name is Dr. Luis H. Mora. He is a podiatrist. Must admit he is a doctor from God! He operated me in the middle of the night and still had patience to explain what is he going to do. After the surgery I have no pain or discomfort. Yesterday I had a check up appointment in his office and must say his work is a masterpiece. As to the hospital and its staff I am giving them 5 stars (especially nurses Georgia and Nicole), the food was OK, the rooms were clean... however the emergency room still needs a lot of upgrades like hiring more people and making it bigger so people can get IMMEDIATE help.

In 2010, post open heart surgery, was accompanied with pain. A male nurse at the time, placed a call button over my rt shoulder, with the instructions; if I have pain, press the call button and he will attend to my concern. When the pain was too much to bear, I repeatedly press the call button ...no one responded. It seemed 30 minutes had passed. So I gently and easily pull on the call button electrical cord. To my surprise, the call button cord was not connected. So I call out for assistance. No one responded, so I loudly called out again. Finally the male nurse responded to my call. I explained to him about the disconnected call bell and his response was; you pulled out the call bell... besides youve gone through enough pain...I think you deserve a break...so Ill give you pain medication. My monitor indicated, my heart rate was 110bpm. This male nurse was the highest example of compassion, sympathy and empathy. I would recommend this make nurse to anyone anyone seeking a apathetic RN.
