SCAM ALERT!!! Made an appointment here on the recommendation of a family member. I came in for my appointment and gave them my dental insurance card and told them that this would be the first time I was using my dental card and to let me know if they had any issues processing it. They told me that my insurance wouldnt be active until 2 weeks from the point that I was trying to make my follow up appointment for, and that we would need to make it for after that two week time. I said fine. Two weeks later I had appointment one of two for a crown implant. The first appointment was complete and I was set to come back in a week and a half once my tooth was created in the lab. Heres where it goes bad: I get a call saying they were wrong about my insurance, its not covering the procedure and that I needed to come up with $800 for the rest of the procedure before my appointment in three days. That if I couldnt come up with the money I would not be getting my tooth. WHAT?! They have some scam running here, saying that their procedures are covered under my insurance and then getting you to consent to treatment, only to be called after half of the treatment is complete saying they were wrong. Luckily I had the money, but what if I didnt? Would I be stuck with a temporary tooth in my mouth until I could save it up? Avoid this dental practice at all costs.... Go somewhere that knows whether or not they take your insurance and if the procedures they are telling you are covered are indeed covered. This place has not heard the end of me, I will be doing whatever I can to ensure that they never see another patient again.

Why this isnt your average Dental Practice... Growing up I had some pretty miserable experiences at the dentist, from shoddy work to work that didnt need to be performed. I never liked going to the dentist, but over time it got worse and worse until it got to the point where my anxiety prevented me from going. My Mom knew I had not been to the dentist in years and when she found Rampo Dental she knew she had to convince me to try them. She worked on me and over time she finally got me to make an appointment... that was 15 years ago and in that time the Doctors, Hygienists, Dental Assistants and the office staff have completely turned around my opinion of Dentistry. My dentist is Dr Gusmano and he is truly amazing for many reasons, first of all his skills as a dentist are top notch and in addition to that he really understands that some people get anxious and need to take a break for a minute. You never feel "trapped" in his chair. My hygienist is Carol and she is never allowed to retire, I love her! She is so warm and friendly and good at her job that the time flies by. When I leave there my teeth feel so clean and look great that I wish I could go more often than every 6 months. I would certainly be remiss if I didnt mention Robin who is often the first smiling face you see when you walk through the door. - If youre lucky you find one or two good people among a bunch, whats amazing about this office is that they are all terrific! I rarely write reviews but when it comes to my dentist I tell anyone and everyone that will listen that they are the best!!!

I visited Ramapo Dental care due to a deep root canal and I was immediately accommodated in their busy schedule as soon as I said that I was in pain. Signing up and registering with them was very easy and quick and I mostly did it online. When I reached there the reception staff was extremely friendly and made me feel at home. The dentist who treated me was Valeriya Knight, a young smiling and very enthusiastic dentist who is extremely decisive, has an extremely soft hand and made me very comfortable as soon as I met her. I had to get my tooth extracted instead of getting a deep root due to its decay but I was really impressed with her quickness of work and the agility with which she treated me. I have really challenging DNA as far as my teeth goes and have been to many dentists and coming from me that this is a really good dental team means a lot. I have been so happy with this treatment that I have selected this team to be my and my families ( i have a huge family) as my permanent dental care team. Thanks Ramapo Dental care team for everything and special thanks to Valeriya.

One star because of Dr. Gusmano, one for Nancy at the front desk, one for the promptness and cleanliness of my hygienist. Until this practice was sold to a large group that has nothing to do with this particular practice, it was a well run, organized, patient friendly place to go. They do NOT participate in any of the better group dental plans like Delta Dental, only Cigna, and have made too many clerical or billing mistakes in past few years since they sold. Ten years ago i was raving about this practice. No longer has the feeling of a local dental office but one of a money making machine for a larger group. Been in this practice 20 years or so, am 64 and was never once, ever told they have a senior discount. When i saw on website, and asked why, i was told that she didnt think i would want it because i dont usually pay til my insurance pays me. I said, " but you didnt ask me once? you just assumed i wouldnt want a discount". Really? Have begun to look around at other practices that take insurance and might treat me with a little more respect.

I was going to Ramapo dental for my whole life. Until not long ago, my insurance has changed, so I had to go to a new dentist. The new dentist wasnt good, she couldnt find a cavity but it showed on the x-ray. They arent that friendly. Every time I went to Ramapo dental I felt like it was a second family because everybody was so nice and joyful. They are gentle and have great personalities and made me laugh. I never minded going to the dentist even as a kid. My mom passed away almost 9 months ago, but she always said she never saw anyone that was so happy to go to the dentist. Right now I think I have two cavities and I am dreading going to my new dentist again. I miss Ramapo Dental. In addition, Ramapo Dental was great every time I ever had an emergency from either a chipped tooth, a painful cavity, or if a filling came out. I give them 5 stars. And whomever goes to Ramapo Dental, Im jealous of you lol.

What a pleasant experience! I booked an appointment same day for a cracked tooth. When I got to the office I was greeted with smiling faces from everyone at reception. I filled out my standard issue paperwork. I dont know if even 3 minutes passed before I was brought into exam by Virginia, who was incredibly helpful and attentive. She made me feel very comfortable, and brought me up to speed on the goings-on with my tooth situation. Enter Dr. Knight, who got right down to business - the result of her work was perfection. I didnt experience any pain - I trusted her and Virgina completely - so I scheduled for a follow-up. My cracked tooth looks more like a tooth now than it did before it cracked. Its perfect - no embellishment. Highly recommend Ramapo Dental - a homey vibe with a wonderful and talented staff.
