Today, I received a "sympathy" card for the (Dec. 29th) death of my dog, Boodie, a beautiful Sheltie who was treated by Dr. Roach at Crosswinds for 15-3/4 yrs., and this remark caught my eye: "Davis Family, Boodie was such a wonderful child. He left many fond memories for all of us. He was very lucky to have you as his caretaker. S. RonMom :-) " I dont know who wrote that, but it seems strange that after bringing my dog to Crosswinds for almost SIXTEEN YEARS, Boodie was nevertheless referred to as a "he" when, in fact, the dog was FEMALE. I also could never understand why Dr. Roach would always call her "Bodie," and never seemed to remember her real name. Over the Christmas holiday weekend, Boodie became VERY ill, and I left a message asking for a Tues. appointment, when I thought Dr. Roach would surely be in. Boodie was vomiting and had bloody diarrhea, but when I received no call-back, I called a second time to ask if I could use the Genitzol ointment to make her more comfortable. In both cases, the phone system never recorded my messages, to my deep outrage. I pointed out the problem to the staff the first time, yet nothing was done about it. When I called the second time (on Tues.), it was around 10:30 a.m.--clearly, during office hrs. I couldnt be the only customer who encountered this problem. I am very upset and disappointed with Crosswinds. I dont know if I will ever own another pet again, but if I do, I will most certainly find another vet. Now, all I want are my dogs ashes back, so that I may give her a proper burial. I dont even want to talk to anyone at Crosswinds. --By the way, this is KAREN Davis, not Marieke (who is my daughter, and never reviewed anyone or anything in her life. Dont know why this computer screen says otherwise. :-(

I have finally found a veterinary clinic to call home after searching for years!!! From the moment you walk in to the lobby of Crosswinds it feels more like a living room than a business. The front office staff are some of the friendliest ladies Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They took the time to answer all of my pre-appointment questions when I called and did the same when I arrived. We saw Dr. Martin for our appointment and he was amazing with my dog who is terrified of the vet. He immediately sat down on the floor with her and took several minutes just talking to her and petting her to calm her nerves. He spent just as much time with me going over options and answering questions. Not once did I feel pressured into buying a service that was unnecessary (contrary to my experience with other local vets). I explained how I was on a budget and wanted to take the most cost effective approach to my dogs treatment and he was able to walk through each option and explain what would best. The facility is clean and cozy and all the doctors, techs and office staff were extremely professional. I highly recommend this business to anyone with small animals that is looking for a personal, professional and hassle free approach to veterinary care for their pets.

Weve been going to Cross Winds for about 17 years now, ever since we moved to AZ. My dogs are my kids. I would not place their lives in the hands of a vet I did not trust, or in a staff that didnt exhibit a genuine love for my furry family. The core of vet techs at Cross Winds staff have been there since I began. Theyve laughed with me, hugged and cried with me when it came time to say goodbye to one of my kids. They all are professionals in every sense of the word. Dr. Roach brought my mini Schnauzer back from the brink of death - when others said to put him down. You dont casually forget things like that. I will forever be grateful not only to Dr. Roach, but to her dedicated staff. I know my kids are in safe hands every time we walk through the door. I hear a lot of dissatisfaction from others concerning their vets, so I always carry a few Cross Winds cards in my wallet. I know theyll be grateful to me for sharing such a wonderful "find". Thank you Cross Winds for being the wonderful people you all are.

Cross Winds Animal Clinic is the first veternarian practice that weve used that has truely engaged with our dogs and family members. When we moved to AZ in 2005 Dr. Roach was recommened to us as being a Greyhound savvy vet, knowledgeable with the particular issues GHs encounter. We havent been dissapointed with the care our family & hounds have received from any of the staff at Cross Winds. From our first visit where, in addition to the typical questions, we were asked to provide information related to our particular home life with our hounds - to a recent visit where we sadly said good-bye to a very loved greyhound - we have had compassionate, individualized care that all animals & their humans deserve. Cross Winds was highly recommended to us & we gladly and highly recommend Cross Winds Animal Clinic to others looking for veternarian care.

In 2011 we raised a litter of purebred high-end German Shepherd Dogs to be donated to valley wounded warriors as a complete turn key operation. Since this was a donation by private citizens, Dr Roach did all the exams, shots, spay neuter, microchip, ... everything at cost of materials only. We didnt ask, it was her idea. We have been with her since 2004. When my service dog got cancer (he was a dead dog walking) and his son was determined to be medically unfit as my service dog in the same week her compassion for the dog and the owner was clear. She made the passing of my constant companion of almost eight years suck a bit less. A year later I was glad to have a friend in the room when I learned that my new puppy of nine months would have to be destroyed due to a massive latent birth defect. The lady is compassionate and competent.

I recently took my 7 month old kittens to Crosswinds because they were both vomiting and one wouldnt eat or drink. Ive actually been going to Crosswinds for over 15 years for my other two cats that had passed away a couple years ago. When I called in regards to my kittens, they were able to get me in the same day which was awesome. Ive never had any problems with Crosswinds, the vets are always caring and friendly. I especially love Dr. Roach, she really seems to love her job and care for the animals. Even though I no longer live close to the clinic, Im so impressed with the care my fur babies have received that I drive the distance. I only wish that their office visits were low cost like they used to be before moving to a bigger location. Other than that, I would highly recommend them to my family and friends!

Our pets have been cared for by Cross Winds Animal Clinic for over 14 years. Dr. Roach is a great diagnostician and has even called me after a visit, to discuss what she thought was the problem with one of our pets, after thinking about her all night. She helped us care for our beloved pets, 2 rescue Dalmatians, who we were lucky enough to have for 12 and 10 years, respectively, my sons cat who was nearly 20, as well as our current rescue pooches, in both good health and through illness. Cross Winds has helped us keep costs down, while delivering the best care. All the Doctors, and staff are skilled, supportive and have excellent communication skills. I have highly recommended, and continue to recommend Cross Winds to anyone who wants the best care for their loved animals.
