Saturday Duncan (my Shih Tzu rescue) became ill, I believe from the Vectra 3D. I checked the internet and found hundreds of horror stories about this product. Duncan refused to eat or drink all day Saturday and Sunday. He vomited and had diarrhea both of those days, was very lethargic and Saturday his body was on FIRE from fever. I prayed over my little boy all night Saturday and Sunday morning his fever finally broke. Monday morning I called the vets office (Maricopa Wells Veternary Hospital) which is his normal vet and where I purchased the Vectrta and asked for an appt. When I read more about the Vectra many people suggested bathing the dog with Dawn as the product is oil based and put onto the back of the dog, so I did bath him with Dawn dish soap. At my appt at 2:30 with Dr. Villalba I explained the entire situation with the Vectra, she said she never heard of these issues, I find that hard to beleive, so many pets have become deathly ill from this medication they are trying to get it off the market. Duncan was dehydrated, they gave him fluids, anti nausea, anti diarrhea, anti vomiting meds in a sac under his skin on his back, but never a blood test. They suggested a course of chicken and rice 2 tablespoons at a time, wait an hour or two to see if it stays down, if it does, give him a little more, you can wait a few hours and try a few more tablespoonfuls again. It did work, he had about 6 tablespoonfuls Monday night, and about 1/2 cup of water. At 7:50 am the office called me and asked how Duncan did and I told them how he did the night before. I have MS so we really do not wake up until 10 or 11 am. When we finally really woke up, he again was lethargic, refused food and water. I called Dr. Villalbas office about 11 am and asked for her to call me, she was is surgery. I waited by the phone with my sick dog by my side until 2 pm and called again, now she is with patients. I waited until 5 pm and called again, she has an emergency, but you can bring him in if you want. Really???? You have time to see him if I give you another $90 but not time to call me back on the phone? I see how this is going. She knows what condition he is in but that is not enough of an emergency to call? I sat and waited by the phone for over 9 hours. Shows how much she cares, huh? I am a devout Christian and am (along with my friends) trying to find a reason for her behavior, but I just cant. I cannot accept or justify letting a dog suffer this way when she know his state of health. Why I keep wondering, why? How long will she let him go without food or water before she thinks it is important enough to do something about. I am guessing I have to find another vet. This one I will find on Angies List. I cannot bear to see my baby suffer like this, and I am SURE if it were her pet or parent she would NOT tolerate this type of care from their doctor.

I dont write a lot of reviews but I am moved to do so for this clinic. I used to go here years ago and thankfully after a few bad experiences I have now used th other vet in town (Maricopa Animal Hospital....5 stars there!!!) for years. Recently my little kitten was injured and in dire need of care. I didnt feel there was time to run into the ER (which I have done and had to wait for hours). MAN, our main vet was booked full but said I could come in an they would squeeze me. I stopped in here just in a sheer panic hoping to be seen if they had a minute. I walked in the door and the receptionist didnt even look for a good 5 minutes. I finally said excuse me, I have a very hurt kitten and need to be seen, do you offer an urgent care exam? She simply said, no we are booked up and looked back down and kept typing. UNBELIEVABLE! This is supposed to be a place that cares for animals. I dont care if they dont give a crap about me, but at least tell me they can give me a number or directions to the ER, or SOMETHING!!! Jeez, my kitten could have been dying in his crate! The upside is that I scooted over to my vet and they got me right in and she saved my kittens life. She is amazing and reminded me once again why I switched. In a dire moment I would drive the 45 minutes and pay the premium at the ER before I set foot in here again. Dont use this vet!

I was a little hesitant based on other reviews but I decided to try them out. My dog had a large growth come up quickly, I called the vet and they were able to get me in within the hour. I arrived on time and the lady at the desk greeted me nicely and weighed my dog. Directly into the exam room and the vet assistant came in soon thereafter to get additional information and do a prelim exam. Within minutes the vet came in and examined my dog. I had checked my other vet receipts to get an idea of what things should cost and was pleasantly surprised when I received my estimate of charges. All prices were comparable or less than other clinics. After paying for the recommended services, the vet personally called me in the afternoon and said she had looked at the samples collected and felt the samples did not need to be sent out to a lab- saving me over $80! She put my dog on an antibiotic: after 3 days, she is doing SO much better. I was impressed with the friendliness and promptness of the staff. I am happy to have found this vet so close to home. I highly recommend this vet for your pets.

Very long wait, almost 2 hrs for an exam and vaccine appt. and only 1 other person in lobby when I showed up. Firstly, the place is lacking in chairs for its human customers, both in lobby and in exam room. The Vet (whoever she was) did NOT introduce herself and wasnt friendly at all which I would fully expect on a 1st visit. They did an ear swab due to an ear infection like I mentioned and sent me home with yet another expensive ear wash (which I can find online 1/2 price) as I stated had NOT worked in the past... Supposedly it was as special blended ear wash they made, but I found the same product online within a minute of searching for 1/2 the price of what they charged me. I found the vets information kinda wishy washy and I will not be returning as I would not feel ok bringing my animals there for anything serious. Willing to travel for a better service and vet as I have moved around quite a bit and found lots of great vets out there, this place is not one I would recommend.

I absolutely adore Dr. V and her office staff! Ive been bringing my boys here for years, and theyve always taken such good care of them. I have had bad experiences with vets in the past, so was SUPER nervous to bring my older cat to anyone other than his vet in Scottsdale, but they couldnt get me in and a 45 minute car ride was very stressful for Simon. Long story short, I tell Dr. V after every visit how much I appreciate her and the fact that shes NEVER seemed to be in a rush. She takes the time to explain everything to me, and provide available options. As far as the clinics fees (that others have mentioned), Ive always found them to be incredibly reasonable. Certainly in comparison to The Boys prior vet in North Scottsdale! Ultimately Ill pay whatever I have to pay to make sure my pets are being well taken care of. But affordable rates are definitely a bonus! I have zero hesitation in recommending others to this clinic.
