I have seen many Dr.s over the past 14yrs for chronic pain due to failed spinal surgery in both my lumbar spine ( lower back ) and cervical spine ( neck ). I have 4 spinal fusions 3 in my cervical spine and one in my lumbar spine. I have done numerous therapies / injections/burning of the nerves/ facet joint injections/spinal blocks, you name it Ive had it done and to no relief of the pain I deal with daily. Dr. Oppang Takyi after spending two minutes with me ( literally ) commenced to tell me I was taking way to high a dose of hydrocodone ( according to him youre a drug addict if you take this ) which is like taking aspirin compared to the fentanyl and avinza I used to take which I forced them to take me off of do to medical complications they caused ( Crohns disease) and that he couldnt refill my prescription as it was written from my prior Dr. ( I just moved here from another state ) because it would enable me to take to much. Not only is he condescending and dismissive of anything you have to say which is insulting and unprofessional but he also finds it necessary to interrupt you while you are trying to explain anything to him. He comes across as knowing more about how to treat you than your prior Dr.s do even though they have treated you for years . He has a self righteous god complex and your prior Dr.s dont know anything yet he knows it all! That in my opinion makes him a very dangerous Dr. Keep in mind that a pain management Dr wrote the original prescription for my pain meds that HE refused to refill as written by the pain management Dr. So he wrote his own completely different than what works for my condition and less dosage which is a very dangerous thing to do for any patient that has been on prescription narcotics for a long time.. he is the absolute worst Dr. I have had the misfortune of having to see. Luckily I can remedy that by never going to see him again.. Later that day my wife saw him for the first time like me to get established as a patient and to get some of her prescriptions refilled that she needed. She suffers from depression and bipolar disorder as well as narcolepsy. Like me, he professed to tell her she was taking to much medication and that he couldnt write her refills for all the meds she was taking because in his opinion the Dr that wrote them ( the Dr specializes in depression and bipolar disorder ) had no idea what she was doing in prescribing them in the first place ( his God complex taking over his better judgement as well as his lack of experience) which is a very serious and severe problem for my wife if she doesnt get all her medications she was originally prescribed. He is a very dangerous Dr to see if you have anything more serious than the common cold. No matter what Dr youve seen before going to him they were wrong giving you medications that actually benefited you according to him he knows more than any Dr. I strongly urge anyone and everyone to avoid Dr. Oppang Takyi and seek professional help elsewhere, you will be glad you did..

Beware. Really great doctor (my husband sees him). Horrible billing practice. They wait till your 3rd visit or so then starting asking for money up front. We have insurance, no co-pay (great insurance). Well this office holds your hard earned cash to make sure insurance pays and instead of sending you a bill or notifiying you that you owe anything after insurance pays there portion they just take it from the kitty they hold on your behalf. Just plain wrong! I pay my bills I should have a right to a statement and pay when its due. As my husband says we just dont agree with there billing practice, but to me its just plain wrong to hold money in case. Please beware before going to this practice, seem great at first.

MAKE SURE TO ASK WHAT YOUR VISIT IS BEING CODED BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Dr. Frank charged my follow-up visit as a Level 4 visit (google it) which is way more expensive than a normal follow up. Then on the phone he says "the complexity of decision making in the initial visit was carried over" THAT IS BS. He spent 10 minutes with me during the follow up and said see a specialist. He may be a knowledgeable doctor, but he could very well be doing this to everyone and they dont even know what to look at on their bill. STAY AWAY.

Ive seen this doctor somewhere between 30 & 40 times in the past year. He would be good for simple conditions like cold/flu/ear ache mainly because you can get in so quickly. If you have anything more serious I would not recommend him. He has no interest in listening to his patients, does not explain his actions/decisions/diagnosis, spends very little time in the actual room with you, and ,after moving on to another Dr. I found out that, he sometimes makes dangerous medication decisions.

If I could give this "doctor" a "0" star rating I would. He is the most condescending jerk that my wife and I have ever met with. He is NOT understanding, does not listen and is an absolute joke of a doctor. Rolling his eyes, laughing at us when describing our medical issues, repeating what we said in a baby voice to patronize us. Does not take the time to listen or understand your situation. DO NOT see this doctor. Look elsewhere. The worst doctor I have ever seen.

I have been seeing this doctor for over three years now. It is a bit of drive from Mesa, but the quality of care I get is unbeatable. I even referred my brother to him. He is very prompt with tests results. And during my annual physical nothing was left un checked I appreciate that since a lot of different diseases and cancers run in my family. The staff is great too. They always seem eager to help me. I would recommend this doctor to everyone.

Nice office, very professional staff. The nurse wasnt that person friendly but did the job. Dr. Oppong was very nice and helpful. I like that there are walk in appts. because you cant always choose when you need to see a doctor! I had been looking for an opening for several doctors and this office was not only open but very accommodating. I would consider making him our family doctor.

I was fortunate enough to see Dr. OPpong for many years until I moved to Surprise. Not only is he highly intelligent, his office is run like clock work! Big deal to me. They use all upgraded Apple computers, no paperwork, everything is automated. He is on the ball with things I brought up 2-3 years ago. I see a lot of doctors and Dr. OPpong keeps you organized and on top of things.
