while i have had a successful hip surgery here, so far the past two nights of inpatient care here have been the nights of sleep deprevation. The nurses are competent and sweet, but the entire service is way too slow. Yesterday, i alerted them a 7:30 a.m. about the start of migrain but wast given medicine until 10:30 and by then it was too late. That is because they cant give medicine without physicians approval and getting doctors to respond is not a quick process. Consequently I suffered from a thrubing head and severe nausea all day. This kind of service has been accross all requests. People who have family membees with them get attention right away, but when family leaves you are frequently ignored, no matter which machine beeps in your room and how many time you push the call button the response usually is slow. I like the nurses here and the doctors are fine too. Coordiation, communication, chart updates etc as well as management is flawed. Also the facility too old and too small for the moving equippments. In closing i give the nurses 4.5 star, the doctors 4, the facility a 2, other staff 4 and the mangement 1.5. I think a lot of their communication issues have to do with their management and their protocol of keeping communication charts, parient logues etc.

I want to compliment the staff at Alameda Hospital. Today, I had a Stress Echo and I must admit to feeling very anxious. However, from Michael in Registry to the 3 people who helped perform the Stress Echo (Lynn, Scott, Ronnie) everyone was just great!. Michael, on the day I registered, could not have been more help-definatey went the "extra mile" on my behalf. Lynn, Scott and Ronnie, were professional, kind, efficient. They explained everything that the Stress Echo, entailed and continued to be caring and committed, to doing a good job. Something I had dreaded having, turned out to be not such a bad experience after all. My thanks to the hospital and the wonderful staff that helped me through the process. I have but the highest regard for all of them.

My daughter broke out in huge itchy bumps all over her body, she took herself to alameda hospital. I just called her, she told me how rude the woman was who she spoke with a few hours ago. woman told her "get out of my office" and stop your itching.. she has waited 2 hours and is still waiting (3:30). I will write a letter to HR, why is this woman allowed to work in a public position and be so rude. My daughter owns and operates a successful day care in Oakland, she needs to see doctor, this person hasnt called her in yet...what IS GOING ON at this hospital. Please investigate this woman and her behavior. Monday- July 25, 2016

I was checked in for 3 days with a staph infection. The nurses in 3 WEST were rude and unresponsive. I needed to go to the ER (Alta Bates) afterwards because of a severe allergic reaction to the meds I was given upon release. The prescribing doctor would not even talk to me. Alta Bates ER requested to know what drugs I was given. She was told she would receive a fax, which she never did. NEVER GO HERE. Alta Bates in Oakland is CLEAN AND FRIENDLY. Alameda Hospital is neither of those.

My wife was in a significant car accident on HWY 880. She was dizzy and disoriented. We waited while some section 8 scuzz had her nappy headed kid with the sniffles looked at...Waited again in the room while the doctors and nurses discussed vacations and the like...Screw this were leaving, had her BP and Temp taken, Were billed $385 above what our insurance was billed. Called billing numerous times, get a recording no call back..Avoid it like the plague.

The most horrible excuse of a hospital Ive ever experienced! Dont go there or take anyone you care about there if you can take them elsewhere! The nursing staff is super slow and not empathitic! Ive never ever seen so many uncaring nurses and nurses aids before in one place! Dont go into nurseing if you dont care about people! its horroble to be at the mercy of people who dont care and thats what you get at Alameda Hospital!

Most doctors were poor in English and communication. My dad was treated on average like an object. Most doctors were rude, do not care to explain or what would go ahead before discharging patient. They hospital recommended and transferred dad going to Alameda Care Center which was another horror. He ended up going back to the hospitals ER.

Emergency room at Alameda Hospital sucks. Their doctors dont care whether or not if you are treated by them because they sit around the hallway talking to each other. The only thing they seem to accomplish while I was there was giving me a breathing treatment for my asthma. They going to ask me what do I feel like I should get done? youre the doctor really?

Horrible experience, people check out reviews on YELP and see the horror others have experienced. If you are in acute pain they will not treat your pain, or do so minimally. They harbor mentally troubled staff who are callous and will not make you feel better, but worse.

Called to talk to my brother who had a stroke yesterday. Within a minute, he was on the phone. The staff I dealt with couldnt have been nicer and I really appreciate their help.

Professional, courteous, and I was seen quickly. Went in to have a splint replaced on broken arm because the job done at UCSF was poor. Alamedas replacement was much better.

I loved it. Starting with the intake rep and ending it with southern bell sassy nurse with. I felt that my concerns were heard unlike the two other EDs I visited this week.

My dad DIED because of them. Please please go somewhere else. They were insensitive. They questioned us and called the cops. Never again will I step foot in there
