In regards to Wednesday Feb 15 2017. The MRI Tech was the only good thing and by the end he seemed as uncomfortable as I. TO the nurse who assisted with my MRI....next time a patient tries to explain to you that they have extreme anxiety and might need some extra time and understanding....maybe listen. The next time a patient, such as myself, tries to let you know important things about their body, for instance my veins are small, deep and have a tendency to collapse, the two veins nurses like to use most lay near nerves that can cause a lot of pain if you arent careful...listen. When I warn you that using my right hand might be a problem and you use it anyway. When I say you are going to have to stabilize my right hand because I have a lot of pain in it and instead you do the opposite then get frustrated when I cant relax my hand...maybe dont continually force my hand and fingers open because hey, guess what...i just told you I have severe pain in that hand. When someone with anxiety asks you to walk them through everything because surprises will cause a severe anxiety reaction...maybe listen. DONT act like youve done a good thing by getting into a vein that you now wont be able to use because Im rolling into a panic attack...and really ..."lets not do that" is the best comfort you have to give? When you get frustrated because you havent missed a vein in months and decide to basically inquire in a round about way if I am or was ever a junkie because it must be something Ive done to myself to make this so difficult for you...maybe dont...its a sure sign you havent listened to anything I said. I managed to make it through the whole event. It was harder than she could ever imagine to not just get up and walk out. I have a surgery pending so I had to. I apologized if I was rude I thank them for their patience....I know its hard to handle someone with severe anxiety. For future reference though, when someone come to you open about their situation, tells you all the information you need to help this be successful, is up front and honest about themselves and you walk all over that trust you will lose any respect I had for you as a nurse. I wish you could know the restraint and control it took to get through this entire situation. I wish you could have felt the tears running down my face as I tried no to over process and panic while in the middle of the MRI. I wish you could have been the one who collapsed into her car sobbing and shaking all because of the fabulous brain chemistry that I do my best every day to not let control me.

The staff here is extremely friendly, helpful, expedient, and highly competent in their medical expertise - starting with the receptionist who was able to make a short notice appointment for me during a busy time because of her ability to think on her feet to the health care professionals who performed all aspects of my checkup with medical precision. I called several other facilities closer to me who could not accommodate me for a routine annual exam in the timeframe I needed, and I ended up driving about 45 minutes to an hour each way for this appointment at the end of August. It was totally worth it though. This is one of the best medical facilities I have ever been to, and it is obvious they put their patients first. Its refreshing to find a medical staff who have great bedside manner AND practice quality healthcare. If all medical facilities were up to these standards, malpractice issues would not exist.

This is the worst emergency room i have been to. They forgot to give me my script for antibiotics for a serious infection and muscle relaxers for painful back spasems. When the nurse was asking about my symptoms she did not note anything i was saying. Good luck to anybody that is seen here they will not diagnose you correctly or hold themselves responsible for any mistakes they make. I wont be returning. I would rather be taken to mount vernon wich is an extra 20 mins away.

I really like this hospital however my only criticism is that you need to be sure you always speak directly to the patient even if they are escorted by someone else. Just because they are elderly or in a wheel chair doesnt make them incompetent. If their escort needs to step in they will. My Mother In Law is 86 but still manages her own life and everyone keeps talking to me like Shes not there. I just push her wheel chair.

This hospital has been a real pleasant experience for myself, and my parents at when they were still alive. All of us have had to stay here for one reason or another over the last 25 years, and I cant think of a better facility. Its modern and attractive, and personnel are professional and very pleasant to work with. If you need a good hospital, I highly recommend Island Hospital!

Worst bedside manners from the so called doctors and nurses who could careless about a patient who cannot breath with a fresh neck injury. They just throw words at you and leave you alone for hours. Thanks for the help. Island mortuary ER

I took my mom to the ER today, and I have to say everyone we met with were kind and professional. We are very lucky to have a hospital of this caliber in our little town.

Best nursing care I have had anywhere. Much better than the Seattle nursing care at the two big hospitals in which Ive stayed. It felt more personal and caring.
