My husband was in your ED on Thursday 6/15/17 and we have nothing positive to say about his experience. The nurse he had was very rude and the first thing she said to him was that he needed to speak up because she was hard of hearing, mind you he was having a medical emergency and had to be carried in by his co-works and was barely able to talk. After this she proceeds to put his IV in. She told him to flex his arm and he did, she then tried to insert his IV and yelled at him that he needed to relax, after she just got done telling him to flex. He asked if she got it in and she rudely replied that she "cant get it in with him doing that". After his lab results came back they advised him that his liver levels were off which sometimes happens when the sample is being transferred to the lab, but they still wanted him to follow up with a liver specialist in town. They told him he had an appt sched for today 6/22/17 @ 2:00 with the liver specialist- we live in Roseburg so he was going to have to take the day off work to make it to this appt- He did not get a confirmation call from this office so he called the number given to him at the ER today (after he already took the day off work) and couldnt get a hold of anyone and got sent a automated message stating the office was closed today. I then called a different that was listed online and spoke to a very nice lady who informed me that not only did the ED not sched his appt like they told him, but the Dr that they "sched" him with isnt even with the practice any longer. She also stated this dr was just a PCP and not a liver specialist. My husband specifically asked while in the ER if they could just refer him to a liver specialist in Roseburg so he wouldnt have to travel all the way to Eugene and he was told there wasnt a liver specialist in are area and that he had to see the one they "made him his appt for". I also found out they did not enter any of his insurance information even though he gave him his ins cards. When I spoke to SARAH in the ED to get my husbands records sent to us so we could give them to his Dr here in Roseburg she was very rude and then transfered me to medical records where the phone rang for 3 min with no one answering, I did this 3 times. I called and spoke to Sarah again and asked that she just give me my husbands lab results over the phone and again she was very rude and wouldnt give me the results because she "doesnt work in medical records". I must say, after my husband taking a day off of work for no reason, and being treated so rude by so many people we are very upset with the way this ED is run and working in the medical field myself I can safely say there needs to be some sort of retaliation for the action of these two women. I would be embarrassed if there was anyone in my company who treated our patients like this. If you dont like working with the public, please dont work in the medical field. I truly hope this complaint doesnt go unnoticed.

I recently went in to the ER due to a rather severe case of exacerbated Asthma, which happens with colds sometimes. I have had Asthma since I was born. I spent about 25-35 minutes in the waiting room as they checked me in. Once inside the actual hospital I was sat down and treated fairley quickly by a nurse who administered 3 nebulizer treatments. So far so good. I then spent the next 2 hours an 15 waiting to see the doctor. The problem is the doctor was right outside my room, sitting in a chair chatting away with 2 or 3 other hospital personnel. She walked by my room at least 3 times, and when I did finally see her at 3:15 a.m. it was for 5 to 10 minutes tops. And for some reason she felt justified to ask me, "Is there anything else you want to tell me, anything I should know?" Not only do I not have a history of any sort of drug or alcohol abuse, im very clean cut and was in nice jeans, button up shirt and a soccer zip up. Odd question to say the least. I then had a nurse come in, give me 3 prednisone, and tell me to have a nice night. If you as a doctor are going to sit in a chair, hands behind your head, leaning back and talking about your weekend/life/jokes with other personnel do it on your own time. I knew what was needed and could have been out in an hour and twenty minutes, tops. I spent less time in Denver in the ER than in tiny Eugene on a Monday night. It wasnt busy. Its unprofessional as hell to do that. Unfortunately this is all Eugene offers in cases like mine. Will I go back, yes. Its an emergency situation. Will I be as polite and understanding, no way. Due your job people for gods sake.

never trust this establishment to take care of any problem that is not completely physical. if you come in with insomnia or anxiety they have a tendency to place you in a behavioral health unit sometimes against your will. this hospital is a horror story waiting to happen for you or your children. absolutely do not trust these people. once you sign the consent form they think they have the right to throw you in a room and tell you that you may not leave. if you try to leave they will pin you down and forcibly inject you with haldol. they will then take you to the "behavioral health unit". the first time this truamatic level of malpractice took place for me was at riverbend. they pinned me down and injected me with 45 mils of haldol even though there was nothing wrong with me. i was only a little anxious. 45 mils is only required for combative and dangerous psychotics. little did they know i had a sleep disorder and haldol is addictive for people with mild to severe parasomnia. these people deserve legal action and should have their rights stripped from them. they never said consent to treat would involving literally forcing me to take addictive drugs. NEVER TRUST THE ER, they can hold you simply because they " think you may be a danger to yourself or others". they claim to be nonprofit and they charge patients with a simple anxiety disorder THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A DAY. they are extorting the public and falsely diagnosing people and thier dear children. I AM PRESSING CHARGES.

Had to go in when I was visiting Oregon for work. I was the ONLY person in the ER waiting room, but still waited over an hour. I came in because I was extremely dehydrated, and they wrote me a painkiller prescription for some unknown reason. No fluids. Not even a cup of water. They gave me some pills and didnt even give me any water for those. I took them dry. They sent me to a pharmacy down the road, which was inside of a party store-- a literal party store with balloons and everything. However, on that prescription the doctor mispelled my name, so the pharmacy would not fill it. Then I called and was told I would have to come back and pay for another physician visit to fix the situation. I never met my doctor. I was only seen by other staff then handed the prescription by them. I had to pay over $200 for that doctor, who only misspelled my name and I never saw. I was in the process of paying off that bill, in addition to the hospital bill, when they suddenly sold my debt to a collection agency. I was already paying it, then suddenly I have interest stacking on top of it by a third party company. If you report the issue, they just send a generic thank you for letting us know letter and nothing comes of it. I went home, to a better doctor and better facility, they gave me fluids and everything was fine. My doctor was super confused as to why I would have been written a painkiller prescription in the first place.
