Our pet-loving family has been a part of the Goldorado Animal Hospital family since 1999, going on 18 years. We have experienced the highest quality of care from Dr. Barnes and his staff. Many have become personal friends that we enjoy elsewhere throughout our community. Dr Barnes has provided the highest quality care available from newborns to older pet care that my husband and I have respected, especially since we are "people healthcare providers". Dr Barnes has shared our joy of finding that unexpected pup in utero with imaging, reassuring us that the diagnosis and care of an acutely ill pet is thoroughly understood and explained clearly to us, with financial transparency so there are no unexpected expenses. Pet insurance is accepted by their office which every pet owner needs to consider. And Dr Barnes has compassionately grieved with us our losses as they have occurred from time to time with our elderly pets. Dr Barnes has been a real blessing taking care of emergencies and unexpected illnesses for our many breeds of dogs and cats. As a UC Davis-trained, caring veterinarian Dr Barnes is excellent. The office management is responsive and personable, the vet techs are brilliant, and the groomer takes pride in our dogs. Other specialized staff members provide their services with the utmost professionalism. By reading the websites personal profiles of each staff member you get a real sense of their excitement and compassion for animal care, of yours and for their own pets. More specifically, I have been the Breeder, owner/handler of top AKC nationally-ranked Bichons Frises for many years in the dog show world, having enjoyed successes at Westminster and AKC National Champion Dog Shows. The care of all our Bichons, especially Grand Champions, is wonderful. Both doctors have followed the pregnancies of my bitches with care and compassion and share in the joy of the puppies. Our two cats have lived long lives as well. We lost our calico kitty, Cady, at 19 yrs. and Annie, our orange tabby at nearly 21 years. Now we have new kittens, Willow and Buffy. The vet services provided arent limited to healthcare and grooming, they will also board and care for your "kids" while you are away and do such a good job at keeping in contact with you, that you can truly relax on your vacation. We recommend these fine folks with the highest praise, . . .yet, mostly want to convey our sincere thanks for setting the gold standard of excellence for veterinary care! My moms pet passed very recently and I finally heard how much money this place has been charging her for each and every visit. My gosh, my mom is on Soc. Sec. and she was charged $2500 for one questionable procedure, $800 for another, and an additional $800 for a procedure that she never authorized. She could only pick her pet up AFTER she wrote them a check despite the fact she didnt sign-off on the minor surgery. Her pet was very old and was terminal. To learn, after the fact how much of her savings she dipped into, because of her big heart, Im really ticked-off. She now sees clearly that she was fleeced and taken advantage of. ***Read the Yelp reviews*** on this place before giving them your business. MANY people there have the same sentiment about this Vet Clinics questionable ethics with regard to $$$ vs. Doing the Right thing!!!

A huge thanks to Dr. Barnes and the team at Goldorado Animal Hospital. My dog blew out her ACL and when we tried to get in to see her original vet, they were too busy for an appointment. One call to Goldorado and they were able to see her within an hour - we had X-rays and a plan for recovery. The entire visit was completely different from anything I’ve experienced -the atmosphere was relaxed and everyone so very friendly and caring. You could feel the love and compassion in everything they did. By far the best vet experience I’ve ever had - and even under such stressful times. If you haven’t found a vet yet - or are questioning the care your baby receives - I would highly recommend Goldorado Animal Hospital!!!

My poodle "Yummie" broke both his front legs and when I took him to the AirPort Pet Clinic they told me to put him down, I was so upset. I immediately took him to Goldorado Animal Hospital and they not only FIXED both front legs, they gave him the tender loving care he deserved at a price I could afford. They were beyond wonderful and now he can run and play with all the other dog friends he meets. I would always recommend GOLDORADO ANIMAL HOSPITAL because they are the BEST of the BEST and truely care about the animals and pet owners they care for. Thank you Dr. Barns and Dr. McCarty. Like the other one star reviews, this vet seemed more interested in getting paid than ensuring the correct diagnosis for my pets. One of my Pets became ill and because I was unwilling to conduct all testing because of financial difficulty, I had to research online my dogs symptoms and diagnose myself. I was able to help my dog by simply changing her diet. The other Pet was completely misdiagnosed given antibiotics when it was liver damage and died 3 weeks later. All for a $600.00 bill. I wont be returning here for any further care of my existing pets nor recommending them to anyone.

Goldorado Animal Hospital is a very pleasant place to go for your fur babies. The office has a friendly family atmosphere that is very understanding of your situation. I had a 9 week old puppy that was kicked by one of my horses and they were there for him. The doctor has a wealth of knowledge and was very understanding of my financial situation and instead of looking at my pup as just dollar signs he provided me with an honest answer to the healing of my baby. Allison was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about my puppys health. The best animal hospital I have ever been to!

I have a bird with a tumor on her wing. I was concerned because it was bleeding. I live in El Dorado Hills and the vet I used to use retired and moved to Hawaii. I called around to 6 different vet hospitals/clinics and no one in the area sees birds. Someone referred me to GOLDORADO. I couldnt have been more pleased. The staff got me in right away, everyone was super friendly, I was in and out AT A SUPER LOW COST - WOW! Not only am I happy to find a doctor somewhat close by but one that didnt break the bank! Thank you GOLDORADO!

Our sweet Golden Retriever, Dusty, was put to sleep last weekend. He was 17+ years old, and our family was very sad by the event. Dr. Barnes and his wonderful staff made the experience the best it could have been. Thank you so much. Dr. Barnes cared for Dusty all 17 years of Dustys life, and we are so happy to have had him as Dustys Vet. Excellent care, and always communicated well with us on various situations. We highly recommend Dr. Barnes and his staff. We will not hesitate to take our future pets to them.

Im 14 years old and Lilly is my first puppy. My mom and I love Goldorado Animal Hospital. My mom had us join the puppy program. Lilly is now 16 weeks and just had her last set of shots yesterday. We even took her in to be bathed and ID chipped. Im excited to be able to take her out for walks and to the park now. My mom loves the puppy program because she feels like we can take her in if we have any concerns and it wont cost us a lot of money. Thanks for taking good care of Lilly! ~ Kyle Benton
